i have a father who was very tough. I got whooped alot being the first child, and i didnt do one-eighth of what my lil bro who is the baby of our family did while he was growing up, cos lucky for him popoman don old and we dey on ground to help mitigate the situation the few times it did arise.lol. But i wholly acknowledge that my father's toughness helped me build character and discipline. While i plan not to be as tough as my dad was to me, i am both good and bad cop with my two daugthers. Something is obviously missing somewhere. Spending 21k USD only for your child to skip exam and record abyssmal grade. Many parent don't spend one tenth of that to achieve excellent result. I attended a public school where teachers don't complete syllabus, yet I ended up getting several B in waec results, and science for that matter. This are result of home training and discipline.

A child response towards life is a product of guidance and upbringing. The blame shouldn't rest solely on the boys. The notion that money will replace what's been missing in term of parental guidance and attention is a misconception. 21K USD is enough to make a difference financially but have we asked other necessary question like is the man an absentee dad? Where is the mother in the picture? Who play parental role of constant monitoring of the kids? Money alone can't ensure a child academic development.

As long as we agree that the child a part of the blame, we're on the same page.

Same here bro. I lost my parents at a very young age. My siblings and I really hustled to go to school. We searched for opportunities like this to no avail.
Not once did we miss exams deliberately. Unless we were sent home for failing to pay our fees.

Even the bible said spare the rod and spoil the child. Yes you right but in some situation you just have to do that. I remember i watched a video clip, were a kid called the cops on his mother for hitting luckily the cops came when the boy's mum was crying, on enquring for the mum what happened the poor woman explained to the cop. The cop turned to the boy to go and bring what the mum used to beat him, the boy came back with a belt the cop collected the belt from the boy gave it to the mum and told her to wipe the boy the more. After doing so he told the boy to look at him mum if he as no mercy for the poor woman sacrificing her life to make him a better person. Then told the mum if the boy should skip school again she should call the cop. These is the same white we try to copy, we need to do the needful sometimes, it doesn't mean we hate our kids many of us would have done astray if not for the factory reset beating and words. if it was left to most mothers, most children would be lost.
