I had 3.5M worth of Bitcoins which was my life savings when I was doing my Masters in 2016. I made a panick sale to a scammer who immediately blocked me on whatsapp after I sent coins. Sadly, Bitcoins price surge massively after that incident. That investment could have meant a fortune, and it felt like the world was going to end. To God be the glory, I bounced back, and today I have made a 100 folds of that loss buying and selling Bitcoins.
I want to learn this btc trade

There was a guy selling goods online, he advised me on how lucrative the business was and told me I will be ordering shoes from China and resell at a great price here. He told me a site and said he will be the one to do the process.

To cut it short, I gave him 30k for 8 shoes, this guy say them don lockdown and hin don send money before them lockdown. I dey wait small time before i go arrest am.

Yes there's a lockdown. All of our goods are stuck because airports are closed. The guy is most likely saying the truth.

I don't know if to call it a scam or robbery. Two years ago in Alabama international market, I was there to buy speakers for my deck, I got to this particular shop, I saw these two lovely speakers, I priced it, the guy told me is 8k for both speakers, I begged him to allow me pay 5k, after much bargaining he agreed, he brought out his receipt, he filled his own part and gave it to me to sign, I too immediately signed it. He collected the 5k and gave me only one speaker, I became angry, I said I paid for two things you gave me only one, the guy told me that, that is what my money can afford. At this point, I took another look at the receipt only for me to see that the quantity the guy wrote on the receipt was one speaker not two and I have already signed it. I became ashamed of myself, I don't know anybody in the area, I can't go to police station to make complain because the signature had already knocked me down. The only thing I could do was begging the guy. After much argument, the argument got the attention of the people. Few people came to interfere. To cut the long story short. I had to add extral 1k before the guy released the second speaker. The leson i learnt from that experience is to always take a good look at any receipt before putting your signature.

Another scam I suffered in the same market. I bought a DVD disk that contains Jacky Chan movies. But when play the disk on my DVD player, only for me to see a white preaching from the beginning to the end of the disk

Funny scam when I was still a child.

Mine happened a long time ago. However, I still remember it crystal clear cuz it taught me some deep lessons.

I schooled in a religious school, back then in Sokoto, Mamman Barkeji Nursery and Primary School. In my Primary 3, I got first position for the first time and became the class prefect. Normally, girls started coming closer to me. I also reciprocated their kind gesture. There was this beautiful girl who came second that term. She was taller then most of us, had a pointed nose, and a very wonderful smile. I think her name was like Henuwell.

Naturally, I liked her. After school one day, a friend of mine, Musa, came to me and told me that she liked me and that she wanted to be my friend and would need some money. Mind you, I was about 7 years old then oh. Happily, I have him the little I has on me, about 10 kobo.

The next day, during the morning assembly, he told me that she was very grateful and that she loved me for that. My head began to swell. He asked whether I had some more money for her that it would make her love me the more. Unfortunately, I didn't have any with me, but I promised him that I would get it for him the next day. My people, that was how I started stealing the small change from our children's purse that was kept in my parent's room. I stole the N 25 that was there and gave it to the boy. Everyday, I got one new love story or another from the girl about how she was thinking of me, how she loved me better than any other boy, etc through Musa. grin

On one Monday morning, nemesis decided to pursue and catch up with me. I went into the Children's purse and lo and behold, only N 500 note was left there. Without thinking twice, I took the money and kept it in my bag. When it was time for us to go, my dad told us to enter his vehicle so that he could pick up our neighbours and drop us all at school. I really don't know what happened, but when he came out of the room, he came out with an empty bag of Children's money and began to ask for the thief. All of us initially denied it. Then my mom joined him and began to beg us to open up. By that time, I was already shaking. That was how I confessed and got serious beatings from both my parents. I cried and cried and cried. It was really painful. After some time, my parents stopped and bundled me inside the car.

As soon as we got to school, they told the Headmaster and I went for the morning assembly. The first thing that Musa asked when he saw me was whether I came with the money. At that point, the pain I was feeling was more than my love for Henuwell and I told him to leave me alone. As soon as the assembly was dismissed, my class teacher called me to kneel down under the tree for stealing from my parents. I then told him that it was because of Musa and Henuwell.

When both of them came, Musa couldn't look at me. As the man was about to punish both of them, the girl shouted that she didn't know anything about it. That was when Musa confessed that he didn't even talk to the girl and that he was using the money I gave him for himself. You need extra beatings I received that morning. Musa was called a criminal, was terribly beaten and got seriously punished throughout the whole day. They even asked reported him to his parents.

To crown it all, about a week later, I learnt that Henuwell actually really loved me and wanted to be my good friend. embarassed

The next term, I left that school.

That was how I was scammed.
This stuff happened about 16 years ago, but funny enough, as I was typing this, I could still visualise Henuwell's face. wink

Edit: For those asking about the 10 kobo I gave Musa, like I said initially, I don't exactly remember the actual value, but I know it was the change I had on me which was a coin. grin

Also, N 500 note was in existence as at 2003/2004 cool

Have you been scammed by your partner before? Boyfriend / Girlfriend.
Chai! My boyfriend in school (university) scammed the hell out of me. I was naive, I gave this guy all the money my parents, family and friends sent to me every month to feed.

Guess what happened after graduation? He lied to me that his mother said he shouldn't marry an urhobo girl, that he should marry a Yoruba girl .
I cried my life out for more than a year hoping things would change.
Guess what? He married another urhobo girl after two years. angry
I bless God I didn't marry him o!! That's another story for a new thread. Lol cheesy

The guy enjoying during his university days, cash, washing his cloths including 4king any time he want it.

Some guy made a post seeking financial assistance,I responded but dude turned out to be a fraud. Someone somehow erroneously fingered me as an accomplice.

Shit escalated quickly and got outta control. I had to go to the bank to print out my statement and post online, some people came out to vouch for me, some couldn't stop throwing stones. It was a harrowing experience.

That won't stop me from helping anyone though, as long as I have something to spare. tongue

Hmmmm Bad experience whenever I remember March 6th and 9th 2012. I will never forget the Bad experience in my life. I just came out from Skye Bank in Adeniran Ogunsaya Surulere Lagos. When I reached Bode Thomas, the guy approached me that he is new in the area, that his Papa is sick, and wanted to sell something to one yemkem to take care of him, I told him I don't know the place, as we were discussing one guy just came around which I later find out they were together, that we should help the guy, didn't know what came over me that day, believe me I was took from Surulere down to Mushin area in Ìdí Árábà ọn The same Bike ó, when we got there I saw something like 15 hefty guys smoking, that is when I knw that My Egungun don reach express and Trailer don Jam am... They collected 51k from me, my two phones my wrist watch, my Atm cards, and asked for my Pin, they actually delayed me and went to bank to withdraw my money, but later came back that I gave them wrong Atm pin, they gave me 500 naira for Tfare to go withdraw the remaining money in my acc for them, I didnt get my self, not until the bike man I called to take me to bank told me that I should not go back to the place again, before my eye clear. No one is perfect though, because one of my friend I told the story then said it will never happened to him that I loose guard, believe me after some months our landlord sent the guy to send 80k to his son in Sch, but thank God for him, he entered their trapped after he had already deposited the money. They only collected his phone and 1k.
The worst part of my story is that after that on the 6th of March I still lost my job 3 days after which is 9th of March 2012...I will never forget these two days in mai life 6th and 9th of March 2012.

eight years ago I was running my pre-degree program when the school suddenly announced the post utme screening. 2/3 days notice. before then I have exchanged contacts and 2go username with many of the applicants here on nairaland, which I was helping with informations. due to the short notice, some of them pleaded to send me the money so I can help them get the form, others where begging I get the form that when they come they will pay me. I got the form for 5 different candidates (2 ladies and 3 guys), I will name one of the guys Samson (not real name) arrived that Friday evening from warri, I gave him the form and collected my #1500, he asked to sleep over in my hostel, I declined cos I didn't inform my roommates about that. he said ok that he has a cousin in the school he stays off k, so he went to stay with them. two days later (Sunday), he visited me in the hostel, we chatted, then guy started playing me tape of how he came back from the screening on Saturday and could not find his wallet and that his cousin and friends stole his money and smoked with ladies bla bla bla, that he's broke and have not eaten anything since Saturday night, that I should lend him 5k to go back to warri. I felt really bad and blamed myself not accommodating him. so we walked down to GTBank gwagwalada, I withdrew 7k, gave him 5k and put 2k in my pocket, guy was like Chelcy if you can make it 7k, so I won't be stranded on the way, I just kukuma give am the remaining 2k. Monday night Samson (not real name) called me that he's in warri now, that his mum and sisters are grateful, that first thing 2moro morning I will get my money, that I should send my account no. that was the last time I had from him. all his contacts stop going through, he no longer login to Facebook and 2go. this was around June 2012 or so. fast forward to November when I was about ending my program, Samson logged in to 2go and sent me another story offline, of how EFFC was chasing him up and down, and he has been in hiding all the while, that he has not forgotten about my money. fast forward to 2014, I came down from shuttle bus and saw a familiar face, but he's now looking rough and dirty, I imediately recalled his name, we greeted and I congratulated him for securing admission into the school and wanted to go when Bros started another story that he hasn't eaten, and have been denied writing tests cos of departmental fees, that I should forget about what happened the other time and help him out. to cut the long story short, I told him I wasn't having any money and then went my way.

How did the case end naa?

The case is still on. I mailed my bank, then i was told there is a dispute on the transaction. I was told to contact the origin of of the restriction which came through UBA Bank or i should refund the cash.
I was then advised by someone who had the same experience to wait till i will tracked down by the owner and then i would then call on my roomie for more investigation.

I went to onitsha market (Emeka Nwafor) to fix my laptop's screen, the guy I met said he wasn't having the screen at that moment and asked if I could wait.
I was on my way to enugu and there was no way I could wait, so we agreed he should buy the laptop. We agreed on 30k, a laptop I bought for 104k that only had inks on the screen and all i intended was to buy a new screen for it.
Like the 30K bad price wasn't enough, I agreed only for him to tell me he was going to scan some internal faults of the system and he said he was going to charge 10 naira or so per unit (I can't remember the exact things he said because it's been like 2 years it happened). I didn't see the 10 naira as issue, after he was done scanning my PC, he told me the total charge for the scanning was 19k. I don't know how he did it, but he showed me everything on his screen. I couldn't argue with him because there were plenty scary looking guys around and that was my first time there. This guy sha paid me 11k for my brand new HP15 that only had little black inks on its screen.
My first time in the east taught me a great lesson.
(No tribal pun intended)
