markovnikoff001:Yes, I once work with a company that connect people to job, and I saw how all this things where, there, I was made to understand that it's not about your certificate but know how to do the job, I got to know that even those that are paid well enough couldn't even deliver anything after all their grammars in interview, those people that are willing to learn always give the company 100% and you know people that can do the job from their little experience or their skills |

ultimate77:Get all this things down, international passport (budget 25k for this, they might ask you to drop small thing for faster collection of passport, don't mind them), go and submit your transcript from your University to WES, it's better to go to the school directly than to be sending mails and mails (press small cash on their hands too ) WES will charge you for it. English proficiency test for now, I'll say wait till the lockdown is over b4 going for the test, try doing some practice online or demo or apps at home now. You will need police report but, not now. Statement of account from your bank showing certain amount (I don't know who you are carry along with you to Canada i.e children, wife or common in-law partner; hence there is a amount per head). Creating an application is a good way to start before uploading and filling each section of your account, choose express entry as your method of immigration. |

Hmm! Worse interview experience? It was with one of the popular new generation banks. I had previously done the test for the bank and passed and scaled through 3 interviews, the third being with the banks top shots on the Island. I went all in and was speaking English like I was a cousin to the Queen of England. One of the interviewers actually called his colleague that he should come and see this "walking dictionary". Subsequently, I was not called. And of course no reason was given. Fast forward to six months later, the same bank was recruiting and I once again did their test which was quite different and passed. Then the interviews began. Scaled through the first interview. At the second interview, one of the interviewer told me that my face looked familiar. I could not recall his face so I told him I did not think we have met. After a while, he asked again if I had come for an interview with their bank before. I had no choice but to say the truth. That was where the interview ended. They asked why I was there if I had been rejected before. It was a devastating blow to me because I had such high expectations. I was not myself for days until God gave me hope again. Of course that bank was not God's plan for me. 10 Likes |

My first interview was with a multi national coy in ph. I came top in the aptitude test. So they invited us for the interview immediately. The panel was 3 members. Boom the first question was the relationship between physics and HSE. Men my head went blank. But i managed to to fabricate some points n expain. Next the lady said i should brief them as a safety officer, which i did. They promise to get back to me, even collected my phone, gave me 2k t fair. My guys thats the end. Later heard the job was hijjecked by who is who. I thank God my private biz is sustaining me n my family. I wouldnt mind attending some more interview. I have spent some money doing certifications so i must work to recover my cash, ( ndt, irata rope access, nebosh hse, bosiet, etc) 2 Likes |

' Sell me this pen' A day I can't forget.... I was working with a bank as a customer service rep, but it was on contract, so I continued applying whenever I see vacancies online. Got an invite for a business Development role in one of the top notch hospitals in Lagos Island. Was all set and ready, well ,so I thought... Got to my turn, entered the office ,and I was asked about myself, answered well and fluently, then I was handed a pen ,and was asked to sell it to them . I was dumbfounded, like what are these people saying, in my mind, I was like ,sell you a pen? How? I thought I am here to market health services. I can't even remember the gibberish answer i gave, but I sha opened my mouth to say something. ... Got out of the premises of the hospital, and the first thing I checked on Google was " Sell me this pen" . Chai, I was just so embarrassed that day ehn.. Anyway ,we keep learning.... 3 Likes |

ultimate77:at the time I was looking to transition into tech, so I started by getting a certificate. Yes I had no experience, and couldn't speak about it. However when I went back home after the interview and researched on it, I was ashamed at how I flopped to something so easy. It's a good experience tho. |

And get caught in a lie? It never occurred to you that they have my name on record. The guy was one of the people that had previously interviewed me. The job was definitely not mine and I don't regret now just painful then |

chukzyfcbb: I had a similar experience. The interview was for the role of regional manager in an international company conducted by two Chinese Americans and One Nigerian man. The company is into heavy equipments. These Chinese Americans bombarded me with questions from the answers I supplied to previous questions. After spending half an hour with them thinking that the interview is completed. Here comes the mess. Interviewer: We can see you have an extensive, comprehensive and wide experience in FMCG, how are you going to leverage on that when it's not gonna be applicable for this role because this is not an FMGC industry. Me: I am adaptive and fast in learning more about the position and I give you assurance that within 1month I must have mastered the dynamics. Interviewer: It took me 5years to grow to the level of a Manager, so how could you just achieve that within 1 month... At this juncture, i was dumbfounded. Another horrible interview experience was with an international company. After convincing them that I have all it takes to excel in that role beyond their expectations, and I am highly proficient in the use of Ms word, Excel and Computer repair and maintenance. I was tested on Excel and Msword. I never knew they had a faulty system that could not boot. I was presented with the system to fix. As a sharp guy, I told them that the problem could be the BIOS or RAM. Interviewer: In other words you are not sure of your competence by guessing. Don't you think you should have run a troubleshoot with your tools. Me: Sir, I need to boot the system before i could troubleshoot. Interviewer: You supposed to have your tools with you. Me: In my mind (Oga I came for an interview, not to repair your system. Take this shit to a technician.) Interestingly, hardware knowledge of computer is not necessary for the role. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Mine was before the lock down. I was asked a question which threw me off balance and I was just stuttering, I felt really disappointed with myself I knew the answer, I just couldn't place what went wrong, I was blank for some minutes. Was just trying to hide my disappointment by smiling. When I got home, I wrote a full page of the answer. It took a while to get over it (a really sad state) and of course I knew I wasn't getting the job wasn't expecting more. This was my worst experience ever 2 Likes 1 Share |
