I wouldn't say completely stranded Shar.
More of a vehicle breakdown.
The year I wrote jamb, I was posted to one remote village like that , a college of education.
I went a day before the exam self, where mosquito almost finished me that night.
The next day after exams ,we entered bus and wah.
This useless bus broke down in the middle of nowhere oo.
Omo we got down and started pushing this thing, the girls in the bus were taking selfies and chit chatting along the road. But before long frustration started setting in too.
We kept pushing this evil bus ,but it wouldn't budge. One bike now came by and the annoying driver followed him to a nearby village from where the driver picked a mechanic and came back.
After "fixing" the evil thing, we still pushed oo, before it foolishly jerked to life.
We moved on but a grandma pushing a walkie could over take us at our speed.
At every little slope we met on the road , we would come down so the bus could climb the elevation.
It got to a point where we even came down and still pushed the bus up the slope.

The horrible experience absolutely disorganized and agitated me that I forgot to collect the numbers I had planned to collect angry

Many years ago, I entered luxury bus going to lagos from school at 9am not knowing its was night bus I entered.. the bus was on and even horning like it was about to move empty due to the easter period then, so it could load the next day..

Well long story short
Summary:

Wanted to go to their office to report, met the same man that collected fare from me.. I was speechless.

Wanted to report to police, police started telling me why this side of the road is not under their control and all sorts..

Didn't have extra funds on me to abandoned the bus, stayed till 11pm, my sit was swapped despite staying at their park for over 15hrs, can you believe the bus spoilt at on the road at about 1am had to call for another bus to pick us up and that still spoilt at ore, and they abandoned us..

My first and last time entering a bus without good branding..

mine is within Lagos State, I was coming from Ilupeju going to okokomaiko. that faithful day from Ilupeju I was suppose to collect money from an uncle to use for transport fare back home but I didn't meet him at home, so I was at Orile with just 100 naira and I still have to get to ajangbadi at okoko. at Orile I decided to beg any conductor that I don't have money dat they should help me to mile 2, so from mile 2 I'll just use 100 naira to iyana iba, then trek from iyanaba home, since it'll be close for me, but for where, all dis Lagos conductor don't have joy, come and see me weak and frustrated and it was getting late, but God was faithful I saw someone I knew(a bus conductor) he carried me free from Orile to okokomaiko, chai happiness filled my heart, but instead of me to use 100 naira to my house, I still trekked home and kept the 100naira, crazy day sha.

You can be stranded even with loads of cash on you.

I was traveling back to Calabar from a funeral at one village in Ebonyi state. The vehicle I boarded got stuck in heavy traffic somewhere in Cross River. Due to ongoing road repairs to the main road, we had to use an alternative seemingly bushy road.

There were loads of vehicles stuck on that road, including trucks. The road was narrow and wasn't made to carry dual vehicular traffic, so drivers had had to manage to pass through, without rubbing against themselves, movement was very very very slow.

It was a sunny day so it was discomforting staying seated in a packed vehicle moving at snail speed. Occasionally I had to alright from the vehicle to stretch my legs and get refreshment from hawkers.

At some point just a few meters ahead, a caterpillar and a truck were stuck tying to pass side by side since the road was really narrow.

I just strolled forward to get a better view and see how things would be resolved. The issue was resolved in less than 10 minutes and cars began to move freely again and before I knew what was going on, the road became empty.

The vehicle I'd boarded had driven off and left me stranded, I didn't even know when it passed

Luckily I only had a back pack as luggage and I was carrying it, otherwise I would've lost my stuff.

Apparently, the main road had been opened so vehicles didn't need to use this alternate route anymore.

I had a loaded wallet but no vehicle to board undecided

Around 7pm I was able to hitch a ride with a bus carrying farm produce to the city I was going to.

It was one heck of a ride, the bus had no seats and no headlights, at some point it began to rain and the roof was leaking so badly that you'd think there was no roof.

I eventually got home at 11pm with several several hard lesson learnt.

Yes 2 years ago, I was supposed to travel for an official assignment, I was given some part of my allowance while the balance was withheld by my boss, 2 of my friends had birthday celebrations and I had to host them, on the day of my trip I got to the park and missed the bus i had to enter a small car that doubled their fare, the car kept having issues when i got to the state, my guests didn't host me so technically I was stranded for a couple of hours. When I got back to Abuja I quickly reported my boss who held the balance of my money to our superior and he released it.

I was stranded in 2015 when I was traveling for NYSC from Abuja to Port Harcourt

We went through a long route from Abuja-Ajakuta to Enugu through Aba and arrived PH at 12pm

I wasn't having enough money to transport myself to my PPA but met a good Samaritan from Benue who accommodated me for the night in his house and provided breakfast the following morning

He was so nice that he gave me some money to transport myself to locate a nearby bank

His wife and child with his younger brother treated me as if I am one of their relative

After my NYSC , I got a job in PH and time to time I do pay them visit

Good people still exist in this country

I don't really like typing stories but lemme say this

I think this one happened last year..At the end of our first semester exams, I wanted to return back to Lagos... Instead of following reputable transport companies like iyare, God is good and the likes.. I decided to follow SUG bus because it was very cheap(half the price I'm supposed to pay if I followed God is good and the likes)

But the main reason I followed the bus was because I had used most of my fare and by the time I had paid, I had only 200 naira with me

So when the bus (SUG) came to meet us at Hall 2 car park..it was very bad..... from looking at it ..one can suspect that this bus would have so many faults but I and the other passengers didn't care. We were all concerned on getting home..

So we paid and did all the necessary before the bus started it's journey.

The Journey became a nightmare after we got past ore. Suddenly the driver just stopped the bus and told us that there was a fault in the bus and that we should all come down..After a few grumbling from all of us, we all came down. Then the driver told us to be walking to the front that he'll meet us along the way. That period was fun as due to the fact that almost all of us were students, we all chatted with ourselves and made fun of the driver (behind his back tho). Then the bus met us on the way and we all entered.

But immediately we got past sagamu, The driver started complaining about the bus that it had a lot of faults and that he'll not be able to carry us to our final destination.. This thing infuriated most of us and we were all shouting at the driver that he should refund part of the money so that we'll be able to get another transport to our place . But the driver was adamant. He refused to give us anything at all claiming he didn't have any money on him.

After everything ..He was able to successfully carry us into Lagos..then he stopped us at ojota.... saying that his brake pads has spoilt and he can't afford to continue the journey.. After all the pleading, he refused to give us part of our money..

We all came down...

Then it dawned on me that I had just 200 naira on me ..and where I was going was still miles ahead(I was Going to cele)

So while other passengers were getting buses to go their various places..I was jus standing , hoping my dad would come and rescue me(that one just tell me that if I lost..e nor concern am)
After waiting for too long..I found a bus that was going to a different cele and I entered.. then they told me that they were not going my cele( first time I knew that we had two cele bus stop in lagos) But by then...they had already covered half of the journey..So the conductor gave me back 100 naira..

where they stopped me..when I asked how much was cele from there, they said 400..and I was with just 100 naira

so with my load(2 bags) I trekked and trekked and trekked and trekked(na dat day I know say Lagos jus small for map..e nor small for real life)
By the time I got past ogudu, I was already tired and weak but because I didn't want to beg..I continued mostly in desperation hoping if I could reach oshodi by foot...My problems would be half solved ..But oshodi seemed very far..when I asked how much for oshodi from where I was , it was still way above the money with me

Then I became very frustrated and had to do what I hated doing..BEG

Then I met one woman and explained my plight to her .. To my surprise..she gave me the money..I was very grateful to her(God will continue to bless that woman wherever she is)

Then immediately I boarded a bus and I got to cele...then from there I just trekked it to my house in okota...

Since then..I've made a vow not to enter uniben SUG bus and never to embark on a transport without holding at least 1000

But I don break all the vows sha cheesy grin

Guy you are very funny.

Well it depends. Honestly I don't like stress, I've been in multiple situations where the vehicle had issues... what I do? I jejely come down, look for another vehicle and off I go. I cherish my time like mad!

Travelled to warri to start an IT that year. Got there and realized I will need some passport photographs. Taking passport that year in warri was quite expensive, nothing compared to Ibadan where I came from. I used part of the money on me and was left with little. I reasoned I must return home immediately to recharge. Not like these days when someone can just wire money online to you. I got one of my sister's brother in law in warri then, begged him for money but he could only get me some small amount. He however took me to a place where I can board some pickups coming to deliver newspapers at warri from Lagos at a cheaper price. Na so I take follow pickup back to Lagos. As long as the motor dey move we were fine, anytime it stopped heat go come. The pickup van na covered one with no ventilation but I arrived safely sha. That remains an experience

Mehn

One of the craziest days in my life

Had post ume to write at Anambra state university, uli 2010 ...........I had travelled down to uli from Lagos with the mindset that my brother's roommate was still around and available to pick me

Those familiar with the route, knows if you've gotten to ihiala then you're almost close to uli. Got there, called my brother's roommate and he gave me proper directive on how to locate to the hostel (off campus)

Getting to uli my phone crashed and died instantly, I almost shit on myself grin....with the slight my brain could remember cos I've visited my brother once there, so I mapped out my location and was there at the familiar junction

Locating his hostel was then the issue, Jew man like me that year with the bread I bought from ore was walking and guessing where the hostel could be.........Next I heard was a loud and thunderous voice "who goes that man........who be that man"

Yeeeeeee, in my head "I done enter oh"........as a sharp lagosian then, I took off
Then the voice kept coming....... "Lite that man there" while I was running to nowhere
All of a sudden my helper accosted me and asked what was wrong and I explained myself to him and he asked hope I wasn't a cultist and I showed him bag, that I came for post ume.......so he took me to his place

In my head was "which kind wahala be this", cos the place I went to sleep that night was looking quite fetish

I was like it's better this man uses me for ritual than to die for what I didn't know then.

Glory be to God, slept sound and later inserted my sim on his phone to contact my brother's roommate

I never knew the uncles house was stone throw to my brother's hostel

Thank God I failed the exam, because e no for easy oh......cos I'd have made a wrong choice

Oboy mine was in 2015 I was coming from Akwa Ibom to Owerri.... we got to the boundary between Abia State and Akwa Ibom and the road was a total mess...oh God ,I think we were there for almost 5hours ,we left there by 8pm, when we got to Abia State driver say time don go say eh go fit go Owerri again, eh give us small money to use continue the journey, ah my heart cut!

by almost 9pm we saw a small car going to Owerri we jumped in and got to control by almost 12am (Abia nah real shit hole).

I stood at control roundabout with red eyes wondering where to go from there (me and one other guy who was going to futo ,I was going to Nekede) The guy said he was going to continue the journey.... I just told him to call me bastard if he made it to his destination alive nah so the guy near me oooh, by almost 1am we dey Waka up and down dey find where to sleep ,all the churches we go meet reject us, my mind spoil..... One of my friend (babe) was keeping track of me all through that journey, she even volunteered to direct me to her Uncle's house to sleep but I declined (wrong move) for my mind nah man I be I go sort myself out (another wrong move) after a while I told her to relax I will find my way (that girl try for me scatter, my guys for school no even cend).

After almost 2 hours of searching for where to sleep to no avail...(even police rejected us)... we started walking towards that onitsha road and found one small spot where all these tipper or truck drivers normally chill until it's morning before continuing their journey ,nah there we siddon ooh...come begin sleep turn by turn 30mins each person grin , by 5am I wake the guy say make we dey continue our journey... we got to Douglas found buses going to our routes ,shook ourselves ,hugged ,said goodbye and parted ways.

I didn't even go straight to my lodge , I went to the girl's lodge who kept a tab on me through out the night.... babe was already expecting me , she took very good care of me for good two days (there was no such thing thing as sex, romance or whatever between us) before I left for my lodge.

I have taken several risky journeys to Port Harcourt, most of them nah Dangote trailer I dey use complete the journey.... my father sef don tire for me cheesy ..... Imagine strolling to my house in Port Harcourt by 1am from Owerri cheesy

Nah God dey protect person Las Las ....
sorry for the long write up!
