I saw some people celebrating the lock down which will end next week.... I really don't know if most of you guys think at all.

Yes, we all want the lock down to end, but not at the expense of an outbreak waiting to happen.

Before the lock down, we had around 27 cases or so.... So how come we went from 27 to over 1300 during 4 weeks of the lock down.... Do you people even ask yourselves that question?

For people that don't have cars, how will they go to work now because Danfo drivers will never think of safety first, their number one priority is making money... So they'll keep packing you all together....not minding your safety.

We want to copy Ghana by relaxing restrictions, but we are forgetting that Ghana has conducted over 100k tests while we've only managed 10k.

This virus will eventually spread and the second outbreak will be worse than the first we currently have now.

There are a lot of asymptomatic carriers that don't even know they have the virus, so not testing enough people and rushing to open up the economy spells doom.

UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab said that they don't want to rush and open the economy too quickly to avoid a second wave that might be worse than the first and eventually make them lock down the economy for the second time and make people have lack of trust in the handling of the epidemic.

Nigeria saw Ghana opening and want to do follow follow.

This is a very very stupid decision in my part... And it is an accident waiting to happen.
.

U guys should keep quiet jor. Oyo state has not been on lockdown since day 1, how many cases are u seeing from there, lagos has been on lockdown since a month ago, the cases keep increasing.

It is not compulsory, stay home, if u don't want to go out, let those that prefer to die of covid 19, instead of hunger go out. Nonsense.

Don't mind bloggers all over the world & the selfish and wicked. nairaland mods. They are cashing out as a result of the LOCK-DOWN. The inflow of visitors to their websites have increased due to the fact that idle people are always browsing their websites so they don't want it to be lifted.

This country is full of idiots. I've been seeing the clamour for the government to call off the lockdown, without putting into consideration how people are going to move around from one place to another.

Some fools even went as far as protesting, burning tyres on the road. The lockdown has been the only reason why we haven't had exponential cases of COVID-19 so far. That's all going to change starting next week.

El-rufai is the only sensible governor that has put in place proper measures to curtail the spread by extending the lockdown by 30days, and on the long run, everyone will see how it will pay off.
before you a comment you have to think about the system in place for people fighting the coronavirus. Everything buhari said yesterday was stupid and he is inconsiderate to the plight of poor people in Nigeria. I rather die of coronavirus than stay at home and starve to death. to me elrufai is incompetent just like his northern counterpart the president. what then happen when the 30 days is over. there will still be inter state travel so how is he going to stop those that import new cases into the state. buhari had the time to shut down Nigerian borders when Coronavirus has not entered Nigeria but he didn't because of his selfish reasons and Nigerians are left to pay for his incompetence. so is one of two things, it's either we pretend to save our lives by enduring unending lockdown that has no effect on cases, because we don't have the system to enforce total lockdown and massive testing i.e testing of above 50000 a day which will cause irredeemable damage to our fragile economy and still and still not solve the coronavirus cases. or we halt this lockdown and sensitive the people on how to protect themselves. cases will rise but coronavirus has a mortality rate of less than 2percent. and people will on their own learn to cautious and protect themselves better, this way we save the economy make testing centers available for those that develop symptoms and hope one day coronavirus vaccine will be discovered.

Nigerians are the most difficult people to rule over the world, you cannot satisfy most of the citizens and we have many good spectators that knows how to tarnish the image of any leader, I don't know what we really want in this country, if Buhari extend the lockdown,we will still shout and now he relax it, we are still complain. The best leadership position to be a legislative, nobody knows you unless you raise up your hand in the house and talk.

We have so many clueless leaders in Nigeria

The Elites and Vvip have successfully isolated themselves and their love ones to safety and have decided to allow the common masses to go fort and die and people are happy they are going back to work without considering the implications.

In the coming months a lot of people are going to realize that being healthy and broke with hope of a better tomorrow is better than being infected with covid 19 and broke

Mark my words
No rich or influential BOSS will step his/her foot in any of their company because the know the risk involve. They will rather allow their replaceable staff take all the risk.

I think you are the one being an idiot here for not realising that even if there is a 6 months lockdown extension it wouldn't stop the virus from rebounding again. It's just pointless hiding at home.

This is crazy. Now the lockdown has been relaxed. People will have to commute to work in Lagos and Abuja. Most people in these cities use public transport.

How will social distancing and proper sanitizing work in a crowded danfo or brt? And for those in Abuja how will you take your cabs or along where four passengers are jammed at the back?

Nigeria is not ready certainly for this . Pray there's no explosion of cases after one week

It will never work... people's movement has to be limited and restricted by ensuring business are not fully open and sm completely closed or working from home.

The Hustlers will Now Spend More Money Treating Their Folks and More Money for Funerals.

Since the late 1970s, tell me when Nigeria has ever been a rich country?

Three factors have impoverished us since the late 1970s:

1. Corruption

2. Resource dependence (Oil)

3. Electricity.

Obasanjo was in power for 8 years, did he address these issues?

Jonathan was in power for 5 years, did he address these issues?

So, tell me how Buhari made an already poor country a poor country?

Buhari met a country that was largely resource dependent, he met a country that couldn't provide adequate power supply, he met a country that was pervasively corrupt.

So, how did he make the country poor when the country was already lacking the stimuli to become developed?

They are calling off the lockdown because they don’t have (or don’t want to spend) the money for stimulus or relief packages it takes to keep people at home without starving. And they know if this lockdown goes longer there will be riots and explosion of crime as hunger sets in.

This is what happens when the government of a country is so reckless with its resources in good times forgetting that sooner or later a rainy day will come that will require extensive reserves to manage.

With this lockdown relaxation Buhari is effectively washing his hands off the matter. To be fair to him there are no good options, you could see the stress in his face. He is basically telling Nigerians you’re on your own ooo.

Only God can save this country at this point.

I don't even understand this country..do they think people like working from dawn to dusk or agberos like their jobs..give all Nigeria minimum monthly wage to stay at home and constant power supply( I still wonder how a country like ours is still lagging behind in this sector)...I promise you that if you tell Nigeria to be at home till 2030..everybody will obey

A sensible Government will pay the Citizens and make sure they extend the lockdown by 3 months untill they test enough people and make contact tracing. But look at us in a very useless country with sets of myopic and retarded leaders, they don't want to share the money they have looted that is why they hastily relaxed the lockdown. Watch what will happen in the coming weeks except the Virus is not here. They may be forced to lock the country down again.
Do you people pay tax for you to be paid? Apart from public and private sector workers who pay tax in Nigeria? Go and find out those countries paying their citizens how everybody pays their taxes. Even plumber, electrician, carpenters pays taxes over there
