During the Gov. Fashola regime we most buses only loaded 3 passengers in a row so everything is about government policies, unless the government is not serious about her duties nothing will be achieved

This is crazy. Now the lockdown has been relaxed. People will have to commute to work in Lagos and Abuja. Most people in these cities use public transport.

How will social distancing and proper sanitizing work in a crowded danfo or brt? And for those in Abuja how will you take your cabs or along where four passengers are jammed at the back?

Nigeria is not ready certainly for this . Pray there's no explosion of cases after one week
. Why do we fail to always address the main issue and Chase shadows for God's sake .Simply open a thread to Inform the Government to Share money to the Citizens ,They would stay at home for 3 months.Government would be Justified then ,Any one Arrested then going out with no very reasonable reason will be dealt with .A Government that order citizens to stay home without providing an alternative for them to eat is just chasing shadows .Address that .

This country is full of idiots. I've been seeing the clamour for the government to call off the lockdown, without putting into consideration how people are going to move around from one place to another.

Some fools even went as far as protesting, burning tyres on the road. The lockdown has been the only reason why we haven't had exponential cases of COVID-19 so far. That's all going to change starting next week.

El-rufai is the only sensible governor that has put in place proper measures to curtail the spread by extending the lockdown by 30days, and on the long run, everyone will see how it will pay off.

They are calling off the lockdown because they don’t have (or don’t want to spend) the money for stimulus or relief packages it takes to keep people at home without starving. And they know if this lockdown goes longer there will be riots and explosion of crime as hunger sets in.

This is what happens when the government of a country is so reckless with its resources in good times forgetting that sooner or later a rainy day will come that will require extensive reserves to manage.

With this lockdown relaxation Buhari is effectively washing his hands off the matter. To be fair to him there are no good options, you could see the stress in his face. He is basically telling Nigerians you’re on your own ooo.

Only God can save this country at this point.

I saw some people celebrating the lock down which will end next week.... I really don't know if most of you guys think at all.

Yes, we all want the lock down to end, but not at the expense of an outbreak waiting to happen.

Before the lock down, we had around 27 cases or so.... So how come we went from 27 to over 1300 during 4 weeks of the lock down.... Do you people even ask yourselves that question?

For people that don't have cars, how will they go to work now because Danfo drivers will never think of safety first, their number one priority is making money... So they'll keep packing you all together....not minding your safety.

We want to copy Ghana by relaxing restrictions, but we are forgetting that Ghana has conducted over 100k tests while we've only managed 10k.

This virus will eventually spread and the second outbreak will be worse than the first we currently have now.

There are a lot of asymptomatic carriers that don't even know they have the virus, so not testing enough people and rushing to open up the economy spells doom.

UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab said that they don't want to rush and open the economy too quickly to avoid a second wave that might be worse than the first and eventually make them lock down the economy for the second time and make people have lack of trust in the handling of the epidemic.

Nigeria saw Ghana opening and want to do follow follow.

This is a very very stupid decision in my part... And it is an accident waiting to happen.

Its easier to critize the government in power but you yourself can not do more than that for you talking that the lockdown should continue am sure you are leaving in lekki always think about people that earn their living on a daily basis.almighty USA,Spain and the rest are opening their economy talkless of Nigeria that the economy is fragile. No economy of a country can survive more than a month lockdown.

Haven’t this useless government been doing follow follow from day one ?

Western countries lockdown they quickly lockdown too , when other countries were proactive by closing down their airspace and borders our airspace/airports were open not until we started hearing cases of how people who flew into Nigeria brought in the virus.

If you want to be fair and honest to yourself, Nigeria can’t sustain a lockdown for a long period of time because of an average Nigerian living standard “living from hand to mouth”. Is it the fault of masses if Nigeria useless government has only tested 10 thousand and Ghanaian government already tested 100 thousand within the same time frame ? Nigerian government is not proactive and never serious about doing things so masses can’t continue to suffer.

despite the lockdown people still don’t observe social distance because of the way most Nigerians do things. Market places are open once in a while in Lagos and Ogun for people to restock foods, no social distance during this market activities.

Government need to brainstorm and come up with an approach that can work for us, because even with the lockdown we don’t and can’t practice social distance it’s not achievable in Nigeria.

This herd immunity na last option last last but it's a pity that Nigeria don't have any strategic plan for it meaning many would be affected

If you keep them at home they would still die of hunger.

I fear for Nigeria. But Senegal has treated all cases with chloroquine. Let's learn from Senegal

I dont think Senegal used chloroquine. Chloroquine is super dangerous to the kidneys and liver. We all saw what happened in America whilst they used it. A sensible govt would have approached Senegal for its remedial efforts but pride wont allow Nigeria.

For us to achieve herd immunity at least 200,000 deaths needs to occur which if you look at it from a scientific basis is a drop in the ocean for a population of 200mill

It is.no more the federal government or state government's responsibility to keep us safe .

It is on God we should rely on for protection .
It is our own personal responsibility to keep covid19 at bay.

face masks.
social distancing
avoiding crowded places.

As you might know, most carriers are asymptomatic.

I hope we are all as fortunate, but still yet.

Prevention is better than cure

You all already know that you have no government at all levels In Nigeria.

So government can’t ban or reform Danfo and BRT during this period ba?

Just to call themselves governors and president.

If you were in a developed country, would you ask this question?

What is so hard in banning danfo, or ensuring social distancing in danfos?

Oh I forgot that your country can’t even enforce the simplest of laws and you followers like it like that.

Upon that we are not doing mass screening we already have almost 2000 cases out of 10000 screened which is equivalent to 1:5. (Or let say total screened is 100,000 ~ 1:50) Imagine this kind of ratio in the state like Lagos, with highest population density, poor transport system, poor housing n other infrastructure n worst of it poor medical doctors to patient ratio.

I just prayed for the old among us.
Good govt would have opened her check book and dole something out for her citizens not lifting
