Geo Domains: The Ranking

In this article, i will be ranking geos based on what i (ikhalyfah) perceive is the best and more valuable to the least valuable.


1. The best Geo is the one that has more end-users i.e potential buyers (more on that later). E.g a geo domain with 40 potential buyers is better than one with 5 potential buyers

2. It should be short, combination of popular city and demanding services (an article will drop on list of good services products) e.g Miami/Florist.com is better than Puunene/BestHotelist.com

3. It should be 2 words, although 3 words are okay due to scarcity and high demand of 2 word geo domains. 4 words and above is not advisable. Eg Denver/Dentist.com is better than Denver/Dental/Service.com Avoid long names like Denver/Best/Dental/Service.com or even Dever/Colorado/Best/Dental/Services.com

4. Like we said before, only .COM will be considered

5. Use City rather than state, eg Chicago is a city in the state of Illinois, hence Chicago/Massage.com is better than Illinois/Massage.com

6. Use Singular word rather than Plural. Eg Detroit/Attorney.com is better than Detroit/AttorneyS.com (they may be exceptions)

7. The shorter the better! Eg if Northern/Virginia/Moving/Company.com and Waco/Moving/Company.com are both available, I’ll purchase the later

8. Finally, go for this combination in order of reference;


*City + Service/Product
*Service/Product + city
*State + service/product
*Service/product + State
*City + Service/Product (in plural)
*Service/Product (in plural) + city
*State + service/product (in plural)
*service/product(in plural) + State

U don't always see "EXCELLENT" geos on ED, most of them are backordered. Nonetheless once in a while u see them, eg when i say Albany/Limousine w/o even thinking of any enduser number i reg it, i later discovered only about 10-15 were available, still i had confidence in the name and it sold.
So u just prepare urself to spot the good names, and make urself Flexible to adapt to the ones u see on ED, some ain't actually trash, they are gems, exceptions are always made in domaining...

Another thing is u can create the names yourself, i have sold more names i created than i picked from ED

To add to this, best GEOS are GEOS with quality backlinks, domain authorities, page authorities, Google rankings, seo presence, age of domains, how many times it has dropped etc.

Having more end users is good but having quality Geo domains is heavenly. Quality domains makes your outbound easier and you having more confident and bargaining power.

A quality Geo will tell you if the domain was previously used for that purpose if you check its ACR and BL. Let's say I saw Austinroofing and it was previously used for roofing activities in Austin, that's a huge added advantage. Some end users check these things without us knowing. Some will just hit the BIN without negotiating with you. Bad ones sells but at times it won't sell even if you have 10000 end users so also quality ones but rare.

Quality domains makes your sales letter juicy as you can confidently display in your sales letter that end users can build authority in the domain, the domain is well searched, use it for backlinks purposes, redirect it to your main site or existing/current site and local dominance or authority. Most of us put all these when we know that our domains are not well searched and no online presence.

With the right marketing, you can turn a random name like Lenovo into a world class brand.
