While we're on this subject, you should download "bouncer".
It costs about one dollar but what it does is dt it revokes all the permissions to all your apps (minus core system apps) and will continue monitoring them. It'll grant temporary permission to an app but revoke it when u exit the app.
I think it's worth a try

u can also get the modded version from apk4all. com.

Or just don't use the Mi Browser. I always use Chrome. So, avoid the browser and you're GTG.

Lol. When it comes to Google, they even track me offline. I'm only telling those who are wary of China but are comfortable with the US. Me, I don't care really.

The moment you connect to any internet service, you can kiss privacy goodbye. I even reckon our ISPs in Nigeria are selling our traffic data to advertiser's as well.

It is possible his phone was flashed with a custom ROM (not OEM Android) all this while and he didnt know. He should check the links below to install a new ROM to get it to work again;

Good morning,

So, G80 v G85.

From what I've garnered in the last 24hrs is that the G85 just has a 50MHz faster GPU. It keeps the same A75 cores frequency at 2.0GHz, however the clock speeds of the 6 A55 cores haven't been announced.

Following the G70 and G80, I'd reckon the G85 is going to have this configuration,

CPU
2 x A75 @2.0GHz
6 x A55 @1.95GHz

GPU
Mali G52 2EEMC4, 1000MHz (1GHz)

I also 100% agree with AndroidHeadlines on the below...

sure but only if u format ur HDD into FAT32 file system.
I still connect my 2tb Western digital passport hdd to my mi 9t to share files.
Maybe the SD 730 has something to do with that.
And it's on ntfs format.

Download Mx player

I'm already using Mx player but unlike years ago when I was using Redmi 3s, Mi video player always reverts back as the default player after you've finished watching video.

Mine works with NTFS, just get ES Explorer or Solid Explorer to read it. Like I said earlier the only limitation of NTFS on mobile is write. You can follow Jboixxx recommendation by partitioning and making one partition exfat because that is the format your internal storage uses. Exfat takes larger files than FAT32

I don't experience such but why not open Mx player to read all your video files instead of accessing it from file manager thereby increasing RAM usage.

Go for Global Versions

https://www.nairaland.com/5528053/xiaomi-compilation-thread

Global Version is meant for the Global Market with more LTE Bands, The Global ROM was originally built for Global Versions.

If you see Global ROM on Aliexpress you are buying a Chinese Version with lesser LTE bands whose bootloader has been Unlocked then a Global ROM flashed on it to replace the Chinese ROM it originally came with. Hence when delivered the carton is not sealed.

Chinese ROM comes with Chinese Version by default except if the seller on AE changes it. (I already stated the LTE Bands limitations) only supports Chinese and English Language, No GApps pre-installed since they are banned in china and limited access to Themes and fonts. synchronization can be a headache atimes when you finally side-load GApps.

See next time use the link I shared up there. It was because of questions like this that thread was created. But do not comment there

Mi video player is easily the worst video player in the world, yet, in the infinite wisdom of Xiaomi they decided to make it the default video player for their phones.
Whenever I want to watch a video, I'll have to change to another video player and it's very annoying.

On what basis are you judging the player?

To me is one of the best with the quality..

I can lock my screen when watching a video
I can increase the brightness of my screen...
Video resume to where I left it when I am watching

What other features did you want?

Sticking with my RN8 like Eba. I'm still in love with it, and it still meets all my needs till today, so upgrading is unnecessary. They are some people that are still using RN5 here self.
You just confirmed my submission.
