But 1 Timothy chap 2 vs 9
Read Ezekiel 16:11-13 and also luke 15:22 talk about the prodigal son
Remember this parable was said by Jesus not one of his disciples or followers and the scripture says that the prodigal son was given fine robe, shoes and ring. For Jesus to said that the son was given a ring is enough to know that wearing jewels is not a sin because Jesus can be used a sin to describe a parade(an earthly story with heavenly meaning)

Indeed men of sundry times did do good works yet never saved! Good works doesn't equate salvation at all!

StJames an apostle of Christ who followed Jesus even before Paul knew christ said and I quote in James 2:7 faith without works is dead, please read James 2:14-26, just as a body with out the spirit is dead so is faith without works, change from gangsters church to Bible believing church, Abraham show his faith in God by offering his own son nearly killed him cos God told him so, obedience to Gods command is our prove of our faith in God

My brother, whenever you read the scripture always pray for the Holy Spirit to give you divine wisdom and understanding, because the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life. We are talking about salvation, Apostle James in that verse you quoted was not talking about salvation o.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

There are no works involved in salvation, only faith. Only after we have been saved can our faith bear fruits of righteousness. But the works themselves have nothing to do with our salvation, it's just a direct byproduct. Faith only saves us and keeps us saved, not works. In Acts 16:30-31, the jailer asked Paul and Silas, What must I do to be saved? They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.
They did not ask him to do anything about works. Please learn the truth of the Gospel of Jesus and do not add or remove from it because that brings a curse.

uvmoses:

Adam's sin

Adam's sin was not external, not what he ate, it was internal, thoughts that produced words, words that rejected the Gospel. Titus 1:2.

Remember that Moses wasn't born when Adam was existing. So he received the event by visions, because of His state he couldn't properly express what happened then he used figures of speech like trees, tree of life, to represent the Gospel of Christ and The tree is Good and evil to represent sin.

So Adam eating the tree of good and evil means adam rejected the Gospel, the tree of life which is Christ. Hence Adam's sin was UNBELIEF, Adam was separated from God, this separation is called sin.( unbelief) this sin, unbelief is also known as death.

So the mother which is sin/unbelief made man to begin to kill, steal, fornicate, commit adulterers, because in man there's no good in the man outside Christ no matter how moral he is.

So this bad actions are called deeds, acts or sins not sin but sins with an 's'

So remember that the reward Adam got when he rejected the Gospel was separation, which is sin which is death.

So it means when Jesus died he took away the reward of unbelief which is that separation, death, sin without 's'

In other words Jesus died for you sin, separation which is death to reunite us with God forever but He didn't die to make you stop lying, stealing sins with an 's' which is actions, but as you grow in the knowledge of Christ you are empowered.

So Jesus came and took away that separation by reconciling us in His death ,burial and Resurrection

But because we are still mortal in this fragile body, waiting till the full revelation of our glorious body the putting away of this mortality to wear immortality a completely perfect body where there's no sin as in actions again, there is the tendency for man to make mistakes in this mortal body.

So the man who receives Jesus's sacrifice is saved from Sin which is unbelief which is death which is separation.

But however because he is still mortal, he will do sins the sin with an 's' meaning actions, he might lie, steal, fornicate, beat someone, but as he grows spiritually he will gradually put all that away.

Whether completely or not before we remove mortality he might make mistakes but he is different from the man who is still in Sin/unbelief.

The man in unbelief/sin will still commit sins too but if he rejects Christ he will go to hell

But the man who receives Christ is saved from sin/unbelief/death but will still do sins actions but he will never go to hell.

So sins can never take a man to hell only unbelief can take a man to hell.

It is first the nature before the conduct.

Further Reading.

Matthew 5:10 Jesus asked all the people to come together near him. ‘Listen to me’, he said, ‘so that you can understand my words.

11 God will not say to a person, “I will not accept you because you ate a certain food.” It is not the food that a person eats. Food does not cause God to say, “I cannot accept you.” Instead, what comes out of his mouth is important. This can cause God to say, “I will not accept you.” ’

12 Jesus’ *disciples went near to him and they said, ‘The *Pharisees heard what you said to them. They are not happy with what you said. Do you know that?’

13 Jesus replied to his *disciples, ‘Those *Pharisees are like plants that God, my Father in *heaven, did not put in the *soil. He will pull all these plants out of the *soil.

14 Do not be *anxious about them. They cannot see, but they are telling people which way to go. A man who cannot see does not show another man like himself where to go. If he does this, then both men will fall into a deep hole in the road.’

15 Peter said to Jesus, ‘Explain to us what you just said.’

16 ‘You still cannot understand what I am saying. You are like the *Pharisees and the teachers of the *Law’, replied Jesus.

17 ‘The food that a person eats first goes into his mouth. Then it goes into his stomach, and then it goes out of his body.

18 The words that a person speaks come from their thoughts. So what a person says can cause God to say to him, “I will not accept you.”

19 A person can think bad thoughts. These thoughts may cause him to kill somebody. Or they may cause him to have sex with another man’s wife. He might rob somebody. He might say things that are not true about someone. Or he might say bad things about somebody.’ note

20 ‘All these bad things cause God to say to a person, “I cannot accept you.” But perhaps a man does not wash his hands before he eats. This does not cause God to say, “I will not accept you.” ’

Titus 1
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; note

3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

I like your write-up but I want to challenge this aspect in bold."But the man who receives Christ is saved from sin/unbelief/death but will still do sins actions but he will never go to hell"

Where will the man who has received Christ but commit sins go to?.

Note what the bible says about those so called believers (who received Christ) who commit sin with an "s" and the unbeliever in Revelation 21:6-8 “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
NKJV

God does not tolerate sin in any form whether it is through "unbelief" and by believer who commits sins as you put. All of them will have their parts in lake of fire.

So it is wrong to mislead people with the doctrine of "once saved, forever saved" Jesus used the word he who overcomes because he knows you must overcome the temptation to commit sins on a daily basis. It is the fight any believer must fight and overcome. It is those believers that will inherit God's kingdom not those that accept Christ but goes back committing sins.

is wearing jewelries considered a sin

paul100:

No,only religious folks that say such thing.

I wouldn't say YES or NO.

No one can be holy by merely NOT WEARING jewelry. Lots of people not wearing it are worse off, proud: looking down on others that do.

I personally don't consider it profitable, so I've stopped using it. Even wristwatches are no more needful for me cos there are mobile phones doing the same job perfectly.

Besides, I can't imagine Jesus or the Apostles getting taken up by jewelry: putting chains or bangles on about the street.

My opinion: I don't consider it abnormal for BABES IN CHRIST; however, a MATURE Christian won't consider it Profitable.

A Christian must seek to glorify Jesus not the flesh (modesty): we must beware of whatever draws attention or glorifies the flesh.

1 Corinthian 6:12 NLT
12 You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a SLAVE to anything.

Romans 13:14 KJV
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not PROVISION for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Acts 3:6 KJV
Then Peter said, SILVER AND GOLD HAVE I NONE; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Acts 20:33 KJV
I have coveted no man's SILVER, OR GOLD, OR APPAREL.

1 Peter 3:3 KJV
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of WEARING OF GOLD or of putting on of apparel;

3 Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.

Jesus requires modesty in all, not VAIN GLORY.

oga ask holy spirit to abide in u because only holy spirit gives every one who desire to be holy the wisdom for holy living, God who is holy is life himself and Jesus said just as the father have life in himself so he has given the son right to have life, Jesus said am the resurrection and life, life of God is holiness and that also is the power of God, it is God that saves his people from their sins Matt 1:21 angel Gabriel told Joseph when he wanted to dismiss Mary cos of her pregnancy, he said she will have a son and u will call him Jesus because he will save his people from their sins, the purpose of Christ coming is to save us from our sins by revealing to us what sin does to us through his suffering and death on the cross, so that if we believe in him and especially if we believe he died for our sins, we might receive the grace to hate sins as much as God hate it and by so doing we become free from sins no matter the gain or pleasure, Salvation belongs to God , God said in Leviticus 21:8 my people must consider the priest holy because he present food offerings to me, I am the lord, am holy and I make my people holy... Jesus Christ made us kings and priest in rev1,:6 he loves us and by his sacrificial death he has freed us from our sins and made us kings and priests to serve his God and father, finally holy spirit make children of God holy and free from sins through the Same wisdom that keep God holy, cos we are made in image and likeness of God our maker, a sinner is not a Christian and a Christian is someone that believes and obey Christ, you can't obey Christ and still live in sin, after Jesus healed the man born blind, he said to him see that u stop sinning or worst thing will happen to you.... There is wisdom of the righteous which controls the mind of the saints of God and deceptive wisdom which controls the minds of slaves of sin, ask God to make you holy by his holy spirit, nothing is impossible with God, just believe and receive the gift of holy life of God, it not by power or might but by the spirit of God zech4:6

Good morning my christian brothers and sisters. Please I need answers to the following questions.
my questions would be taken from the book of Genesis.

Genesis. 3:14 So the Lord God said to the serpent:
"Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life".

Questions:
1. Snake feed on rodents and not dust. Why?
2. Earthworm go on belly. Why? Because earthworm never offended God.
3. If it was Satan who passed through a snake to deceived Eve, why is snake punished to go on belly and eat dust instead of Satan?

The only way to Salvation is to obey the law of God and live a life of good deeds. Do not deceive yourself by believing someone had died for your sins. Every man will be judged according to his deeds on earth
As Christians we believe human is incapable of good deeds but through the death of Jesus on the cross we received grace and power to do good deeds. That is why Christians don't tag sin with different value and weight it against equivalent good deeds like they do in our brother religion. As Christians, having received salvation (capacity to do good) through the death of Jesus we strive to get better, we work toward perfection i.e try to become sinless. Meaning that you are not trying to cancel out your good deeds with bad deeds but you work such that only good deeds count for you berore God...You can now imagine what your good deed rating will look like speaking from our brother religion point of view

Truly, followers of Jesus are not exactly perfect and can't be perfect on earth like Jesus till His second coming; however, we have been called to Repent of KNOWN SINS and PRESS UNTO PERFECTION in Jesus.

It's about time we stopped believing that doing good: going to church regularly (as a member/worker/pastor, etc), paying tithes and offerings, helping people or being nice, planting churches and other good works are signs of being born-again or saved. We can't possibly bribe our way into God's kingdom by doing Good Works which are as good as Filthy Rags in God's sight.

Jesus said A Person must be Born Again to enter God's kingdom.

Now, to be born again means to TURN AWAY FROM SINS AND WORLDLINESS (starting from conscious areas, then later to unconscious areas of sins: from the known to the unknown sins). Hebrew chap. 6, Roman chap 7 & 8

Unfortunately, most Evangelists, Pastors, and Churches in general only end up making "Branded Church-Members," NOT necessarily Converted members (disciples), but people of like-minded that would faithfully pay their FIRST FRUITS, TITHES AND OFFERINGS, ETC. That prompts the question on whether they themselves are saved or NOT: the chances are that they ARE NOT, OR ONCE WERE, BUT NOW "FALLEN AWAY".

Are you truly SAVED?

Are you judging yourself; Repenting and PRESSING ONTO PERFECTION?

OR you're still a victim of Money seeking: Corrupt and Greedy Preachers?

It's TIME to Repent of Empty Church Religion that does not lead to HOLINESS (obedience to Jesus according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).

1 John 2:6 NLT
Those who say they live in God should LIVE their lives as Jesus DID.

Luke 5:32 KJV
I came not to CALL the righteous, but Sinners to Repentance.

Hebrews 6:1 KJV
... let us GO on unto PERFECTION; ...

Hebrews 12:14 KJV
Follow peace with all men , and HOLINESS, without which no man shall SEE the Lord:

John 5:14 NLT
14 But afterward Jesus found him in the Temple and TOLD him, “Now you are WELL; SO STOP SINNING, or something even WORSE may happen to you.”

Matthew 24:24 NLT
24 For FALSE messiahs and FALSE PROPHETS will rise up and PERFORM GREAT SIGNS AND WONDERS so as to Deceive, if possible, EVEN God’s Chosen Ones.

May Jesus Bless You.
I love this one, nice

I agree with you. It is wrong for the OP to condemn good works and attending churches. Jesus summarized the whole commandments. Love God whole-heartedly and love your neighbour as yourselves. In loving God you must obey his commandments on giving and tithing and doing good works so that the world will notice those and give glory to God. Definitely the bible is clear about how one can gain salvation so I don't think so issues should not arise about that. Now a new believer will need the church to strengthen his faith. So he needs to attend church service, learn from others, and challenge himself in certain areas as he grows his new found faith. Doing all those things in Paragraph 2: doing good, going to church regularly, paying tithe, helping people etc are signs of being born again (The bible charged us to them). Those things in themselves will not make you to be born again (you earn salvation by grace through faith in Jesus).

You've misunderstood the Spirit of the message; you might as well reread it with a different, patient spirit. The letter kills; it is the Spirit that gives Life.

May Jesus Give You Light.

Sure it's ones attitude to sin that brings salvation/condemnation.

Going to church and attending all church activities/services don't count.

Churches these days don't preach salvation any longer, they preach prosperity and reserve the front seats for those who have successfully acquired the material things of this earth.

Churches rather use tithes to buy, fuel and maintain private jets, some even use the jets to launder money and smuggle weapons of mass destruction across the earth.

The church is in us (the individual).
Gather your immediate family, read the bible, praise and pray to God together - that is the congregation.

Ask God for forgiveness, no other creature can ask for forgiveness on your behalf. That is salvation.

Who ever toes your line of what a church is, will end up in hell. The church is a community of believers.

1) Snakes feeds on rodent, eggs and the likes and not dust that's how snakes are created just like Lion is created to eat flesh only
2) Earthworm never offended God
God does things as He like , He's unquestionable
3) It was Satan that went to deceive Eve in form of a snake
God created snakes to move on their bellies
Genesis 3:1-4
[1]Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
[2]And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
[3]But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
[4]And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Look at verse 1
"And he said to the woman" meaning Satan said to the woman
Don't forget Satan only went in form a snake
Then tell me who do you think GOD is talking to in verse 14?

Genesis 3:14
[14]And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
It's still Satan
What God is telling us in verse 14 is
Satan is now nothing but a filthy beast
he(satan) is the one to be moving on his belly

Lemme say this
If it is snake that God is talking to in that verse 14
Tell me
That means it is only that kind of snake to be moving on its belly but here we have some many varieties of snake that they all move on their bellies

God bless

My brother, if you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and He died on the cross of Calvary for your sins and God raised him up on the third day, then you are already saved. Nothing more or less is needed. The Bible says all our righteousness are as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). And there is none who does what is righteous not even one (Romans 3:10). Stop trying to be holy and just believe in Jesus, everything else will flow from there.

Hmm, "Greatresearcher," I perceive you want just Knowledge, and not the Main thing: the Life of Christ.

I think a couple of people have already given you good information according to Knowledge in your main post. Like someone said God knows all things: Secret things belong to God, the Bible says.

The main lesson is to learn from the FALL of Adam (Man) and Satan, and be converted: to Obey Jesus in order to ESCAPE THE DAMNATION OF HELL.

***To avoid Pride and Disobedience (sins of Adam and Satan).

1 Corinthian 8:1 NLT

As a Catholic/Pentecostal by birth, I'm sorry, but I must warn you or others who care to listen. Start taking Jesus' Word far more seriously than that of ANY Church or Man.

Start IMITATING the Berean Christians, unlike the Thessalonican Christians, they SEARCHED the scriptures Daily to SEE that what the Apostles taught were True. The Holy Spirit Saw that, and was impressed. (Act 17:11)

The problem is that we ARE NOT serious, that's why everything our Pastors/Father/Pope/Bishop says or does Must be true; but the Words of Jesus? 'Huh, Jesus can Wait!' 'What they preach in my Daddy/Mummy's Church/denomination is terribly more important!'

Perhaps, our church or religious leaders are now closer to God the Father than Jesus himself?Hence, they are the way, the truth and the life?

It's terrible to realize how we focus on Church traditions/rituals/routines, and shut out the words of Jesus according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Colossians 2:8,18 KJV
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

[18] Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.

Matthew 15:3 KJV
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

May We Humble Ourselves so as to get Light On Dead Religion of Men.

May Jesus Bless You.

Thanks. Goodbye.

God bless u abundantly in Jesus name

post=89111765:

You guys will be twisting scriptures anyhow.

The advise you gave that guy is the advise you should give yourself.

When the apostles spoke about not being saved by the law, they were speaking to Jews who were used to the "works of the law" to cover their sins or what is also known as the laws of Moses.

This was spoken of many times in the book of Acts by the Apostles.

Now James comes along and speaks of a new kind of "works" which is the "works of faith" which is different from the "works of the law of Moses".

The word believe in the bible is not your modern dictionary meaning today. It doesn't mean just a mental assent. This is why James says the devil believes also and trembles. But what separates the believers from devils is the acts done based on that belief.

This is why Jesus spoke on judgements based on works that people will do. "Many will say to Him Lord, Lord, and He will tell them to depart why?" You answer that question yourself.

The fruits of true belief is acts/works done based on the belief. If you believe on the Lord Jesus, it means you also believe all He's said and you will act on it or there will be consequences.

You work out your salvation. You don't mentally assent to it and believe you will end up in heaven.

Learn to rightly divide the word of truth.

Thank you.

Salvation is neither by attitude or behaviour but by faith in Jesus Christ.
The faith in Jesus Christ is the living faith.
The dead faith is faith that is not in Christ but on something else or a partial faith in christ.
A dead faith produced no work but A living faith produces works the work is the evidence of the transformation that occurs to a man that is saved.

1 John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

See all who put their faith in Jesus has eternal life.
Having eternal life is not futuristic but present, in other word, you do not wait till when you die or on judgment day before you can have eternal life.
You can have eternal life right now, if you would trust in Jesus as your saviour.

John 11:25
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

If you have eternal life, you have already passed from death to life, meaning no more Judgment of condemnation for you. Whatever works we do as saved men and women is for our reward both on earth and in heaven.

How to overcome as a born again christian

Yes for you to continue in your salvation you have abide in your faith in Jesus till the end.
This is how we overcome, the world.

Colossians 1:23
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Since you are already born of God by believing on Jesus, you have overcome

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1 John 5:5
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

So we continue our victory over the world and over satan by continuing in our faith, this means spiritual growth.
We grow spiritually as we continue when we build on our faith by adding other things such as godliness, virtue, patience, etc. This things helps us to go deeper into the knowledge of Christ.
Note spiritual maturity is neccesary if we must have abundant glory in the kingdom.

2 Peter 1:5, 11 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Note this is not saying immature Christians would not enter, they will enter but they will scarcely be save, meaning they would be as one saved by fire.
Immature Christians would lose their rewards.

1 Corinthians 3:15
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Note the Judgment for Christian's is different from that of sinners and unbelievers.

Just as there are two type of resurrection so there are majorly two Judgment.
The resurrection and the Judgment of believers would happen first followed by a period of 1000 years before the last resurrection and judgment.

In the believers judgment non would be condemned but those whose works didnt meet the standards of God would lose their rewards when their works is burnt up, this would bring shame and a heavy sense of loses upon the believer, because whatever has being judged cannot be unchanged that believer would lose his position that was suppose to be for him and whatever has being prepared forever bur he would still be saved.
Dont just be a Christian that wants to make heaven (heaven is not what you make in the first place) but like paul aspire to run and win the crown.

The second Judgment is for the sinners and the unbelivers (those who heard the gospel but rejected it)
Many people who didnt hear the gospel would also be judged but by their works.
Those who heard but didn't believe, would be Judge also according to their works.

Thanks for this exposition. So tell me how do you work out your salvation?
By the way there's nothing mental about faith. Faith is not mental assent to anything. It is a real spiritual substance that God deposits in our hearts when we hear His word and we can either choose to accept it and let it do its work, or we can reject it and opt to try our own works. The choice is yours.

Who ever toes your line of what a church is, will end up in hell. The church is a community of believers.

With all the politicking, adultery and witchcraft in it?

Now you wish for a company in hell. Look at a church goer.
