adeife16:Read Ezekiel 16:11-13 and also luke 15:22 talk about the prodigal son Remember this parable was said by Jesus not one of his disciples or followers and the scripture says that the prodigal son was given fine robe, shoes and ring. For Jesus to said that the son was given a ring is enough to know that wearing jewels is not a sin because Jesus can be used a sin to describe a parade(an earthly story with heavenly meaning) |

Indeed men of sundry times did do good works yet never saved!
Good works doesn't equate salvation at all! |

Kingpele: My brother, whenever you read the scripture always pray for the Holy Spirit to give you divine wisdom and understanding, because the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life. We are talking about salvation, Apostle James in that verse you quoted was not talking about salvation o. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. There are no works involved in salvation, only faith. Only after we have been saved can our faith bear fruits of righteousness. But the works themselves have nothing to do with our salvation, it's just a direct byproduct. Faith only saves us and keeps us saved, not works. In Acts 16:30-31, the jailer asked Paul and Silas, What must I do to be saved? They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. They did not ask him to do anything about works. Please learn the truth of the Gospel of Jesus and do not add or remove from it because that brings a curse. |

uvmoses: I like your write-up but I want to challenge this aspect in bold."But the man who receives Christ is saved from sin/unbelief/death but will still do sins actions but he will never go to hell" Where will the man who has received Christ but commit sins go to?. Note what the bible says about those so called believers (who received Christ) who commit sin with an "s" and the unbeliever in Revelation 21:6-8 “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” NKJV God does not tolerate sin in any form whether it is through "unbelief" and by believer who commits sins as you put. All of them will have their parts in lake of fire. So it is wrong to mislead people with the doctrine of "once saved, forever saved" Jesus used the word he who overcomes because he knows you must overcome the temptation to commit sins on a daily basis. It is the fight any believer must fight and overcome. It is those believers that will inherit God's kingdom not those that accept Christ but goes back committing sins. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hisincrease: adeife16: paul100: I wouldn't say YES or NO. No one can be holy by merely NOT WEARING jewelry. Lots of people not wearing it are worse off, proud: looking down on others that do. I personally don't consider it profitable, so I've stopped using it. Even wristwatches are no more needful for me cos there are mobile phones doing the same job perfectly. Besides, I can't imagine Jesus or the Apostles getting taken up by jewelry: putting chains or bangles on about the street. My opinion: I don't consider it abnormal for BABES IN CHRIST; however, a MATURE Christian won't consider it Profitable. A Christian must seek to glorify Jesus not the flesh (modesty): we must beware of whatever draws attention or glorifies the flesh. 1 Corinthian 6:12 NLT 12 You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a SLAVE to anything. Romans 13:14 KJV But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not PROVISION for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Acts 3:6 KJV Then Peter said, SILVER AND GOLD HAVE I NONE; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Acts 20:33 KJV I have coveted no man's SILVER, OR GOLD, OR APPAREL. 1 Peter 3:3 KJV Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of WEARING OF GOLD or of putting on of apparel; 3 Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. 1 Peter 3:3 NLT Jesus requires modesty in all, not VAIN GLORY. babadee1:oga ask holy spirit to abide in u because only holy spirit gives every one who desire to be holy the wisdom for holy living, God who is holy is life himself and Jesus said just as the father have life in himself so he has given the son right to have life, Jesus said am the resurrection and life, life of God is holiness and that also is the power of God, it is God that saves his people from their sins Matt 1:21 angel Gabriel told Joseph when he wanted to dismiss Mary cos of her pregnancy, he said she will have a son and u will call him Jesus because he will save his people from their sins, the purpose of Christ coming is to save us from our sins by revealing to us what sin does to us through his suffering and death on the cross, so that if we believe in him and especially if we believe he died for our sins, we might receive the grace to hate sins as much as God hate it and by so doing we become free from sins no matter the gain or pleasure, Salvation belongs to God , God said in Leviticus 21:8 my people must consider the priest holy because he present food offerings to me, I am the lord, am holy and I make my people holy... Jesus Christ made us kings and priest in rev1,:6 he loves us and by his sacrificial death he has freed us from our sins and made us kings and priests to serve his God and father, finally holy spirit make children of God holy and free from sins through the Same wisdom that keep God holy, cos we are made in image and likeness of God our maker, a sinner is not a Christian and a Christian is someone that believes and obey Christ, you can't obey Christ and still live in sin, after Jesus healed the man born blind, he said to him see that u stop sinning or worst thing will happen to you.... There is wisdom of the righteous which controls the mind of the saints of God and deceptive wisdom which controls the minds of slaves of sin, ask God to make you holy by his holy spirit, nothing is impossible with God, just believe and receive the gift of holy life of God, it not by power or might but by the spirit of God zech4:6 |

tallfish145:As Christians we believe human is incapable of good deeds but through the death of Jesus on the cross we received grace and power to do good deeds. That is why Christians don't tag sin with different value and weight it against equivalent good deeds like they do in our brother religion. As Christians, having received salvation (capacity to do good) through the death of Jesus we strive to get better, we work toward perfection i.e try to become sinless. Meaning that you are not trying to cancel out your good deeds with bad deeds but you work such that only good deeds count for you berore God...You can now imagine what your good deed rating will look like speaking from our brother religion point of view 1 Like |

1) Snakes feeds on rodent, eggs and the likes and not dust that's how snakes are created just like Lion is created to eat flesh only 2) Earthworm never offended God God does things as He like , He's unquestionable 3) It was Satan that went to deceive Eve in form of a snake God created snakes to move on their bellies Genesis 3:1-4 [1]Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? [2]And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: [3]But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. [4]And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: Look at verse 1 "And he said to the woman" meaning Satan said to the woman Don't forget Satan only went in form a snake Then tell me who do you think GOD is talking to in verse 14? Genesis 3:14 [14]And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: It's still Satan What God is telling us in verse 14 is Satan is now nothing but a filthy beast he(satan) is the one to be moving on his belly Lemme say this If it is snake that God is talking to in that verse 14 Tell me That means it is only that kind of snake to be moving on its belly but here we have some many varieties of snake that they all move on their bellies God bless 1 Like 1 Share |

Kingpele: My brother, if you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and He died on the cross of Calvary for your sins and God raised him up on the third day, then you are already saved. Nothing more or less is needed. The Bible says all our righteousness are as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). And there is none who does what is righteous not even one (Romans 3:10). Stop trying to be holy and just believe in Jesus, everything else will flow from there. |

GreatResearcher1: Hmm, "Greatresearcher," I perceive you want just Knowledge, and not the Main thing: the Life of Christ. I think a couple of people have already given you good information according to Knowledge in your main post. Like someone said God knows all things: Secret things belong to God, the Bible says. The main lesson is to learn from the FALL of Adam (Man) and Satan, and be converted: to Obey Jesus in order to ESCAPE THE DAMNATION OF HELL. ***To avoid Pride and Disobedience (sins of Adam and Satan). 1 Corinthian 8:1 NLT ... Yes, we know that “we all have knowledge” about this issue. But while knowledge makes us FEEL IMPORTANT, it is love that strengthens the Church. May Jesus Give You Light. |

babadee1: You guys will be twisting scriptures anyhow. The advise you gave that guy is the advise you should give yourself. When the apostles spoke about not being saved by the law, they were speaking to Jews who were used to the "works of the law" to cover their sins or what is also known as the laws of Moses. This was spoken of many times in the book of Acts by the Apostles. Now James comes along and speaks of a new kind of "works" which is the "works of faith" which is different from the "works of the law of Moses". The word believe in the bible is not your modern dictionary meaning today. It doesn't mean just a mental assent. This is why James says the devil believes also and trembles. But what separates the believers from devils is the acts done based on that belief. This is why Jesus spoke on judgements based on works that people will do. "Many will say to Him Lord, Lord, and He will tell them to depart why?" You answer that question yourself. The fruits of true belief is acts/works done based on the belief. If you believe on the Lord Jesus, it means you also believe all He's said and you will act on it or there will be consequences. You work out your salvation. You don't mentally assent to it and believe you will end up in heaven. Learn to rightly divide the word of truth. Thank you. 2 Likes |

Salvation is neither by attitude or behaviour but by faith in Jesus Christ. The faith in Jesus Christ is the living faith. The dead faith is faith that is not in Christ but on something else or a partial faith in christ. A dead faith produced no work but A living faith produces works the work is the evidence of the transformation that occurs to a man that is saved. 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. See all who put their faith in Jesus has eternal life. Having eternal life is not futuristic but present, in other word, you do not wait till when you die or on judgment day before you can have eternal life. You can have eternal life right now, if you would trust in Jesus as your saviour. John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: If you have eternal life, you have already passed from death to life, meaning no more Judgment of condemnation for you. Whatever works we do as saved men and women is for our reward both on earth and in heaven. How to overcome as a born again christian Yes for you to continue in your salvation you have abide in your faith in Jesus till the end. This is how we overcome, the world. Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Since you are already born of God by believing on Jesus, you have overcome 1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? So we continue our victory over the world and over satan by continuing in our faith, this means spiritual growth. We grow spiritually as we continue when we build on our faith by adding other things such as godliness, virtue, patience, etc. This things helps us to go deeper into the knowledge of Christ. Note spiritual maturity is neccesary if we must have abundant glory in the kingdom. 2 Peter 1:5, 11 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Note this is not saying immature Christians would not enter, they will enter but they will scarcely be save, meaning they would be as one saved by fire. Immature Christians would lose their rewards. 1 Corinthians 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Note the Judgment for Christian's is different from that of sinners and unbelievers. Just as there are two type of resurrection so there are majorly two Judgment. The resurrection and the Judgment of believers would happen first followed by a period of 1000 years before the last resurrection and judgment. In the believers judgment non would be condemned but those whose works didnt meet the standards of God would lose their rewards when their works is burnt up, this would bring shame and a heavy sense of loses upon the believer, because whatever has being judged cannot be unchanged that believer would lose his position that was suppose to be for him and whatever has being prepared forever bur he would still be saved. Dont just be a Christian that wants to make heaven (heaven is not what you make in the first place) but like paul aspire to run and win the crown. The second Judgment is for the sinners and the unbelivers (those who heard the gospel but rejected it) Many people who didnt hear the gospel would also be judged but by their works. Those who heard but didn't believe, would be Judge also according to their works. |

Jeromejnr: Thanks for this exposition. So tell me how do you work out your salvation? By the way there's nothing mental about faith. Faith is not mental assent to anything. It is a real spiritual substance that God deposits in our hearts when we hear His word and we can either choose to accept it and let it do its work, or we can reject it and opt to try our own works. The choice is yours. |
