Well, I am not for or against Kogi being checked out. The bottom line is that it is up to the people of Kogi to decide. They should be thoughtful about their actions realising there is no gain in concealing tragedy of it is brewing.

However it speaks once more about the fact that our leaders appear first of all to be completely as sea concerning the true state of Nigeria(ns). They donot appear to understand the citizens they govern, aka out of touch and secondly it speaks of a dearth of an effective strategy to handle the pandemic in Nigeria.

They have nothing to sell by way of solutions to states. If all they do is roam about collecting stats like some eager school prefect then some states will thumb their noses.

NCDC. What is the Covid 19 battle strategy. This is 2 months encounting. Haba. What is the way to tackle the lion roaming the streets. Are ee going to hide indoors till it drops dead from hunger?

The strategy is simple wait for instructions from WHO.

They would only succeed if they find cases and lockdown the state. Just like they're succeeding in Lagos

For the fact that we have a very corrupt and highly inefficient government on ground that does not mean the citizens should toe the path of been rational! we must not wait till COVID 19 consume us like bullet train before embarking on 3T square. I am not in the Train of COVID 19 been a scam I am in the vehicle that believes their more Covid 19 in Nigeria because of the poor testing, tracing, and treatment. Nigerians must wake up and press our government to do more and not the campaign of irrationality!!

This is more than politics. Only a goat will not facilitate testing of Covid-19 in his State.
As in how can a whole gov be like this?

You can't just jump into conclusion because the governor knows what we don't know and for Fed government not to sanction him you should have known there is something behind it and when did you heard about unsuspected death over there?

What is all this nonsense. The governor said no case of covid19 and they are forcing it on him. Must covid 19 be recorded in all state. And besides, there is no record of strange death in the state

I stand with Yahaya Bello on this one. Covid 19 is fast becoming a scam in Nigeria. Initially PTF was telling us the the people that died have serious health issues but they now stopped telling us. They are using covid 19 to milk us dry.

You stand with foolishness.

Kogi is one of the two states yet to confirm any case of the virus since the country recorded its index case in February. The other state is Cross River. Both states are believed to be discouraging tests for people with symptoms of COVID-19.
The doctors’ association in the state expressed concern over the refusal to test suspected cases of the virus.
“I think in the long term, the purpose of our existence is to support the states. They have the primary responsibility of the health security in their state,” he said.

I do hope you understand what that statement means?

If i were the president,, i would send a stern warning to all these PTF members that if at the end all the covid figures are false,, they should just say bye to the planet earth.. A lot of those PTF guys are multi millionaire now because of covid..

False figures at 4,000 when only God knows if we're going to 200,000 or 1 million! If we have better testing capacity, we would be talking about between 50,000 and 100,000 confirmed cases by now.
Note: not that every recorded case would need treatment as only 20% of the cases shows symptoms.

You guys should see it beyond your circle of imagination. How true is this epidemic outbreak in Nigeria. We never can tell if the guy knows the truth behind the disease. I haven't seen any real case before. All i see is livescore. And how comes COVID-19 patients could get the strength to protest over inadequate facilities at their isolation centre. Let's think about the whole thing. On a norms, people die everyday. So I'm not really surprise if I see the livescore on death.
Let's stay tune and see how this epidemic will end. God bless us and keep us safe from all dangers and calamities.
#1 Mainland Hospital Road, Yaba, Lagos (in case you want to see evidence of the disease). Don't come here and spill trash about live score because it hasn't hit you close to home. Also, it is a Pandemic, not an Epidemic. Know the difference.

Why This Focus On Kogi State. The Governor Said They Should Be Placed On Quarantine As Per NCDC Rules And They Refused. The Governor Is Trying To Keep His State Safe

For 14 days! Were they just coming from UK or USA? Within that 14 days, can you imagine what the rate of infection will be? Under a governor that disallowed the testing of patients who developed covid-19 symptoms? He didn't need their help and they were back to their base. End of discussion.

I beg to differ.
I live in Kogi state. You see, covid 19 is not what you can hide from the media. There are no unusual deaths in Kogi as in the case of kano that hid the truth before conceding. If people are dying of covid 19 in Kogi state, no one can conceal it from social media Take for instance, how can Kogi has covid 19 since February and no unusual deaths at home or in the hospital? At times let's not try to explain what we don't understand, almost every month I travel across Kogi State from Egbe to Kabba to Obajana to Lokoja to Ajaokuta to Ofu to Idah, yet no unusual deaths. Are we staying corona virus does not kill people any longer?

True, you can't hide Covid 19, but what about the 4 people that died in FMC Lokoja of symptoms similar to Covid 19 within 24 hours? Have you thought about it that the reason there are yet to be any significant deaths is because the infection cycle in Kogi may be relatively recent and therefore at an early stage. Not every state is at the same stage of infection.

The thing is, until you test for Covid 19, you cannot really know or say there is no case in Kogi State. If the Governor says no testing, then the lives of the people, particularly the medical personnel in Kogi are at significant risk because they may be exposed to infected persons without any protection, which is why they are rightly worried about the situation.

Yahaya Bello is highly, highly irresponsible. There's nothing wrong in testing people, but from what he's commissioner of Info said yesterday, Yahaya Bello is a disgrace to this generation and I pity Kogi people. I also blame it on APC government for their sentiment in calling him to order. After all, it's a stolen mandate.
Re: COVID-19: Osagie Ehanire Says FG's Mission To Kogi Failed by Rebuke: 9:38am On May 09, 2020
I really don't know why NDC and some of yhu here getting too emotional over Kogi State.

In this era of social media and all, yhu all think Kogi can hide anything covid19 case?

It's being a month plus now, the people haven't experienced anything strange so why are they so bent on carrying out tests in Kogi?

For yhur information, I just spoke with someone living in Kogi state (lokoja to be precise) this morning, and she said no cases and that the strange death rumour has nothing to do with covid 19.

If you're in Kogi and claim there are cases why not prove it with evidence?

Unfortunately, most Nigerians are emotional morons who just go with the crowd....

Note, I am not disputing the reality or existence of covid19 in Nigeria but I can tell yhu the health officials seem to be crying more than necessary and blowing this thing out of proportion.

Common people, use yhur head. We hear billions released to fight this covid thing, yet we have also heard alot of allegations and protests of not enough aparatus and what have yhu. The question is, where is all the billion going?

I am not surprised, our health workers haven't been given enough attention by the government and we all know how they many times wanted or threatened to go on strike.

So, if this is an opportunity to shine and make some cash, yhu think they won't grab it?

Everyday now, na dem dey shine. Dem dey appear for news Daily and getting enough attention, e no go sweet dem? Common, na to propagate the gospel of covid na, send fear to everyone, na who won die?
And it is working so far.

Guys, naija is a scam. So many hidden agenda.

I am sorry for d sacrificial lambs who will go down, the ones that have been and will be used to proof a point just to sound genuine.
My prayers, may we and our loved ones never fall victim. Amen and amen!

For the record, I give kudos to all the health workers who are guinely doing their work and not for personal gains or recognition but to save life.

Let the drama continue, but let's not forget the judge of all judges awaits us all.

Now, before yhu quote me, put on yhur thinking cap.
