You can't automatically assume the position of being the cheated one because there are still more than 20 candidates that passed the examination without getting admission.

You can't make a good priest with this kind of mindset. You are too emotional to make rational judgement.

Imagine this scenario. 35 of you passed, twenty of you got recommendation from a bishop, 10 from parish priest, five from the vocation directors.
They offered admission to five candidates recommended by bishops, 1 from parish priest, and one from the directors.
Will you accuse them of cheating because you did not get what you wanted despite the fact that those that got it actually passed the test?

What I see from your write up is that, you have the average mentality of a Nigerian politician..'It must be me attitude'

My advise is that, if you truly desire priesthood, go back to the drawing board and learn the ropes. Study the trend, ask yourself what and what has been depriving you of this opportunity for the past three years.

If you discover that candidates with recommendation from Bishops stand a better chance after passing the test, go make friends with a Bishop or get recommendation from there, or better still, go a little above and get a recommendation from a Archbishop.

They knows what they are enjoying so they won't want anyhow person to join the seminary, they only want their relatives. In my community, only one person was admitted into the seminary school, but we are among those communities booming the Diocese.

It is just a passion that overtook me when doing my ND2 first semester.
I just got the vocation, then I gave it a try, even when my coursemate was completing their HND. they are now serving, while I am here.

Most diocese in the north lack priests unlike south east especially Anambra with excess priests.Also try out out missionary priests that is not diocesan priests.They are usually very fair don't give up your call from God brouse about very missionary priests and how you can join in Nigeria

I tried it for 3 years, (just gave up this year) but since me and my four friends no get top priests to speak to Vocations director on our behalf nor write a befitting or convincing recommendation to him, that we are not just here looking for work, we even left polytechnic to pursue this seminary admission, we passed their entrance examinations, but what happened then, they even gave admission to someone who failed the test. I was in the seminary also... becoming a priest is not a do or die affair. From the things you are writing ✍️ here, I have already seen the reason why you won’t make a good priest. Prejudice! You will never accept the will of God in your life. You can serve God from wherever you are. Talking about those who did not pass exams, go and read about John Vianey ! It’s the Holy Spirit that owns the vocation and He chooses the weak to shame the strong!

OK, Bro, sorry for expressing my experience in such manner, it is just painful you know. Seeing your course mates graduate while you were trying to join the seminary, it hurt.

Do you think I didn't try that. I tried Jalingo Diocese, but the vocation director told me that I must spend at least one year before they can CONSIDER admitting me.

Lokoja Diocese, the priest, a resident priest at the university of Koji Idah told me that I will spend 2 years before applying. The application letter I submitted through POST OFFICE to Minna Diocese the vocation director said he did not receive any, He himself told me that there Exams is 1week time. Bro I tried my possible best for the 3yrs. I can't tell why it happened like this. I have to move on, maybe next year, depending, I can go and complete my HND with SHAME of leaving at first.

My Paris priest told me to be careful about the congregations I applied to, because many of them do not have a strong seat in Rome, while many of them don't have valid authority from the Bishop, etc, such congregations can expel you in the theology level just to have fewer seminarians to ordain, because they were not that popular or rich in terms of ordaining priests or having parishes on their own, etc, just things like that.
About being a religious priest, Sir, I really tried my best. I applied to Somascan, Claratians, Dominican, Capuchin, Redemptorist (the Vocations director told me they are on recession because of financial status, etc so they have not been accepting application letter for two years) and for the rest, I went for the first encounter and second encounter, which I spent 3 days in the mission house. And for joining the seminary after primary, that will only help if you have the connections needed. We know about 35 of the aspirants that attended the same minor seminary school that we wrote the entrance exam in, but, during the day of our interview, we didn't see many of them, they didn't even pass the simple examination but they attended the minor seminary school. When I met one of them who failed on my way to park, we discussed, but, but, but, he said he is only trying his best because he knows that he is going no where, even if he came out in flying colors, that they won't grant him admission. He was the one that told me to call all the priest I know to assist rather than me depending on my intelligence or education. He really said many things which I believed. So Bro/Sir. We are in the world of who knows who. No connection nothing for you. I just pray I succeed with the NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE. I have to make a living nah!!!

So from the little knowledge and experiences I had, it's not all that difficult the way you're painting it here. Though I know that most Dioceses who already have a lot of priests and also some top Congregations usually make the entry process tough just to control the number of people joining.

But as I said earlier, maybe God never wanted you to serve Him as a priest.

I just went through all your comments here and the only thing I will advise you is to forget about becoming a priest. Just go and finish your HND program, get a job and serve God through other ways.
