The opinion of one Amarabae can never be the opinion of the Ikwerres. Call for a referendum and let us see those Ikwerres who consider themselves as part of the Igbo nation and by extension Biafra.

So you want to impose referendum on those who didn't ask for it?

Amarabae:
Greetings lovely humans!
This short post is aimed at correcting some misguided and delusional orientation that Igbos have about Rivers state,
As Rivers state indigene born and bred there, though married to a south east state, I am well grounded about the total makeup of the south south state and Igbos should learn.
1, Rivers state is not an Igbo state, it is erroneous to assert that , it is a multi ethnic state comprising of kalabaris, okrikas, ikwerres, Etches, Ogbas, Ekpeyes, Elemes, Ogonis etc
yes the ijoid sub-tribes there affirm a solidarity to Ijaw nation , likewise the ogonid sub-tribes affirm theirs to ogoni nation except for a little denial in eleme but There is NO strong or firm solidarity to the Igbo nation from any rivers tribes, the few little solidarity comes from egbemas in Onelga and we ASA/NDOKIS in Oyigbo, the reason why is because we still have our kit and kin in ukwa west, ukwa east and ohaji egbema LGAs.
The ikwerres, Ogbas,Ekpeyes,Ndonis,Etches Are recognised officially as an independent tribes in Rivers state, and since as a people, they have vehemently denied being Igbos , their decisions must be respected by Igbos,
ikwerres are ikwerres
Ekpeyes are Ekpeyes etc case closed.
.
2, Port Harcourt is not an Igbo city,
you can't refer pH as an Igbo city just because of the ikwerre factor there when the ikwerres over the years have denied affinity with Igbos,
PH belongs to rivers tribes, case closed and there was no time in history it was officially registered as Igweocha, that was a nickname just like some call it Pitakwa.
3, Rivers state should be counted out of your biafran ipob map because at the mention of that name, many wounds that was sustained during the war gets opened up again,
wake up to reality and stop deceiving yourself, Rivers state government and even Rivers state council of traditional rulers have warned you Igbos yet you irritants don't want to learn. is Alright,
4,The governor nyesom wike is not an Igbo man but Ikwerre man ,he has never claimed Igbo,
he is a bit Igbophobic, go and read about his igbophobic records as obio akpor local government chairman,
this same wike renamed a stadium after yakubu Gowon,. a man whose war actions killed many Igbos yet wike immortalised him ,yet your afara born direction keep deceiving you about wike on radio Biafra, you don't yet want to have sense.
Was it not wike who hosted the oba of Benin and affirmed ikwerres loyalty to his kingdom before him, you know all that yet you are living in denial, its alright!
5, The state is still Igbophpbic, case closed,
you are tolerated, not welcomed and you know that.
even nnamdi KANU knows this, that's why when he was around and was talking about coming to his Biafra capital "igweocha", the guyman parked at oyigbo and never stepped foot in pH, or core rivers area, he knew about the repercussions, let's stop deceiving ourselves
.
show me one ijaw man supporting Biafra and I will show you 1000 ijaw men who will spit when that name is mentioned, same with the ikwerres and co,
that's a bitter reality
,
If you have had a first hand experience of Igbophobic outrage from these minorities, you will know that the "Fulanis and Yorubas are learners"
I will stop here ,part 2 is coming.
You have been rejected many times yet you are still stubborn , that means that you have an ulterior plan,
Ipob stop attracting insults to the great Igbo Nations , have some self dignity before them,
The minorities don't need Igbos to survive , the Igbos don't need them to survive, but Ipob is making it look as if they are oxygen to Igbo's.
for me its either we restructure Nigeria or a homogenous Igbo only country ,
ipob should start waking up to reality before it is late.

Amarabae is not Ikwerre. She is from Asa in Oyigbo Rivers state, she and her people are proud Igbos.
Ikwerres never asked you for referendum. Restrict your referendum within Igboland. Ogbakor Ikwerre have reiterated many times that Ikwerre are Binis, to this end Oba Bini was a guest to Wike in Rivers state government house recently to strengthen their bond.

You need to stay updated nwanne. Onye ajulu anaghi ajuu onwe ya. Show dignity Nnaa.
Nwanne, I understand the anger of the Igbos of the SouthEast extraction against the Ikwerres as a result of the unfortunate incidents following the Biafran war but I believe that most Ikwerres especially the younger generation are beginning to question the action of their forefathers. I feel they should be given the opportunity to determine their future, afterall before the war, they were undoubtedly Igbos. Just like the Southern Cameroonians of old and more recently the Chechnyas in Ukraine, they should be given opportunity to determine where they want to be and not outrightly ostracize them because of the decisions of the forefathers. We need to unite as larger Igbo nation to push for our collective interest. We need to heal the wound of old to move forward.

Uche okwukwu is just using Ohanaeze for his daily bread...That's their game.

Britain left EU and by next year, they will stop enjoying all benefits of being part of European Union.
Why is it important that Germany and France ensure that Britain lose all benefits as EU member after Brexit?
Because you need to discourage others from leaving by making sure they know that if they left, they would lose all membership benefits.

Ikwerre officially left Igbo union in 1970. Yet have been allowed to enjoy perks of being a member. They have their sons holding important positions in the organization even when Rivers state don't contribute any kobo to running of the organization.
How else do you want people, including Ikwerre themselves to take the organization serious.

This anomaly has been allowed to go on for too long, 50years exactly, and must not continue.

Ohanaeze Ndiigbo owe other Igbo clans still in the union the responsibility to:

1. Officially excommunicate Ikwerre and other Bini aligned Igboid groups who have floated independent ethnicity and left the Igbo union long ago, from the union.

2. Expel members from these Bini lands from the Union and offer their positions to representatives from Asa, Ndoki and Egbema in Rivers state. See, you must always reward loyalty and punish disloyalty, that's how you build strong institutions.

3. Release official communique to announce these changes.

This is how serious unions act. If Ndiigbo want to be strong again, we must get our acts right.

Its not about your belief. Its about reality.

I put it to you that younger Ikwerre are more Igbphobic than their parents. Go to Rumu villages in Obio akpor and find out. If you are too busy to visit, you can check out their Facebook pages, young Ikwerre are the majority there, both male and female and they harbour more hate for Ndiigbo than their parents did.
Don't take my word for it, just join Ikwerre Facebook page, with your Igbo name, you can easily sneak in.
We must learn to separate beliefs and wishes from reality.

Oga, when I made my post, I knew in advance that people like you will tag me as IPOB member.
I'm not moved, you can call me anything you like, after all this is a faceless forum.

Now, tell me how many people in the streets of other Nigerian cities even in SS are aware of anything call IPOB or their activities outside your SE.But I can tell you that there is a strong anti-Igbo sentiment in many of these areas. That is the root cause of your problem. Until you fight to eradicate it, you are just chasing shadow.

Like I said in my previous post, IPOB or no IPOB, the insult will not abate until the root cause is removed. This can be done by proving to other Nigerian that what they thought of you is not what you are.

Visit these areas and see how your brothers are suffering discrimination by people who have not heard anything called IPOB.

Yeah there exists very unjustified anti Igbo sentiment all around Nigeria however IPOB is making it worse by making our people seem like land grabbers when we are not. Denouncing IPOB will not solve the problem but it will go a long way to doing so.
And what do you mean by Igbo people proving to others that we are not what they think we are? We have nothing to prove to anybody man. We are not the ones massacaring people in their villages neither are we the ones committing high way brigandage. So.....

I agree with you completely. Ikwerres are too small to be contending with the great Igbo race. These confused guys enjoyed the Igbo tag when it suits them and reject it when it does not. This nonsense has been going on for a long time now but it's time to put a stop to it completely.

Igbos have little or nothing to gain from Ikwerres but they stand to gain a lot from us. The truth of the matter is that these guys are actually behaving this way because they feel we've got their back. Unknown to many, Ikwerres are riding on the back of Igbos from the SE living in P.H. to win elections as a majority in Rivers State.

Going forward, Igbos must do the following to put these Ikwerres where they actually belong I.e. Benin.

1. Every Ikwerre person in Ohanaeze or any other Igbo socio-cultural or market group both within and outside Nigeria should be expelled with immediate effect.

2. Ohanaeze should transfer such posts being held by any Ikwerre person to other Igbo groups that accept their heritage within Rivers State.

3. Igbos living in Rivers State should always support our true brothers in Asa, Ndoni and Egbema among others that accept their Igbo identity in Rivers during elections before the Benin slaves.

4. Ohanaeze should officially write to Ogbakor Ikwerre to stop impersonating Igbos by not using our copyright trademarks such as names, eze/obi title, culture and tradition among others.

5. Igbos should never allow any Ikwerre person to join our groups anywhere in the world. Be it in schools, socio-cultural groups, market associations, Nollywood, corporate organizations etc.

6. Igbos should never celebrate Duncan Mighty or any other Ikwerre musician, actor etc as one of us because they are not one of us. They should go to Ikwerre or better still Benin people to patronize them.

7. Wherever we meet the Ikwerres, whether within or outside Nigeria, we must never identify with them and must warn them never to attach to us.

Globally, Igbos are recognized and statistics have endorsed us as high achievers. We have been categorized as among the most advanced races, in a group that includes the Germans, Jews, Chinese, and Indians (the only Blacks to be recognized). Now, does the Hausas even know if there is a group of people known as the Ikwerres talk more of being known in Ghana or worse still globally??

Let's face it, between the great Igbo race and the unknown minute Ikwerres, who should be pleading for the other to accept it?

We must chase these guys away from anything that has to do with Igbos and give the priviledges to those that deserve it. These guys can't eat their cake and still have it.

We have giving too much attention to these guys already and it is not worth it.

Thanks.
This is the right thing to do if the Igbo ever hope to rise to greatness ever agaIn.
We can only offer our advice and open those involved do the right thing.
