so uber US sacked 14% of its workforce mainly customer support executive recently now they want to buy a delivery company called Grubhub

but uber CEO is smart and a nice strategist

Uber Eats had just 20% of the market share of food delivery while Grubhub has 28% the leader, DoorDash has 42% of the market share(the market leader)

if Uber buys Grubhub, they will become the market leader of food delivery.

smart move

Because they know we dont know how to speak up, they feel we are too timid and accept what ever they offer thus complacent with the 9ja market, little do dey know that is is the most important market on sub saharan Africa if not the entire Africa. Times are hard dey will eventually wake up.

Only in California, San Francisco area. A policy that came on board in November, 2019, few months ago. It was applicable to only two destination trips a day. Always make details in full, please. Thanks.

Are these prices recent?

Yes.
I saw their online advert and called them. Did the transaction on Monday morning. Got the e copy on Tuesday morning and before 3pm, they delivered it to my house.

Plz can you give reference for this statement. Cos it makes no sense to just allow drivers see destination for only 2 trips in a day.

Edited
Anyways uber has made it clear we are independent contractors if you dont like their system look else where.

The only rideshare app I feel can compete well is Lyft and I'm sure dey will come to 9ja market so all business are searching for opportunities

I wish I could give you any reference but it's a verifiable fact, I don't know if anything has changed lately. You can see from the picture you posted, the part that reads, "going towards your destination" at the bottom, was blacked out. The policy doesn't make sense but that's Uber for you.

The bottom line is that Uber is very cocky world over and not just a Nigerian thing. Aside fares, most of their policies are consistently the same in more than 90% of places they find themselves. There may be few exceptions though.

Yea, Uber will be very worried if Lyft comes to Africa. Truly, only Lyft can knock them off their perch in terms of app quality and service delivery. Africa may be Lyft's last call after expanding to some places in Europe and Asia
I don't think they have gone beyond the shores of US and Canada yet.

Don't pay through ussd code transfer o...The second option is pay through your bank app and in that part of Narration you enter your unique reference number as sent to you by taxify when mailing you.

After the payment...screenshot the payment receipt and shoot them a mail.

Note. In the narration box...type only your reference number so it can automatically update on your app.

Stay safe.

Modified...check my attached screenshot....you will see in narration I typed my reference number is so so so ...but when replying the mail, the customer care person told me that next time I should just put only the number so it can be automatically updated.

This may be accurate. Like I also said before, their policies are generally the same world over with maybe a few exceptions elsewhere. I will appreciate if you show me that of Italy, Spain, France and the rest of America. And Uber had a long legal battle/tussle in the UK with both government and drivers sometime back that they were on the verge of quitting, if you followed events. This may be part of the concessions made.

This feature in California was deliberate on the part of uber, to circumvent the law that says they have to prove that drivers are truly independent contractors, else uber must treat them as employees. By letting drivers become selective with ride acceptance, uber is in effect saying drivers can choose whether to take trips or not, without being penalized. So if you’re under the impression that it’s because uber cares more about drivers over there than here, THINK AGAIN. It was just self preservation.

True. I noticed it too. However I think it's of no use because sometimes, the final fare is usually lower than the price displayed when you check the price during the trip.

Good point. Same situation may have applied in UK as well. Uber were simply at loggerheads with the law. They were all recent developments as well, meaning that their policies were generally the same world over until recent changes in very few places. Thanks for having a grasp.

What you shared is not an ongoing trip. You can still check the current price only when you have started the trip.
