you are lucky the snake swallowed those rats if not it would have been aggressive before killing it. Meanwhile plant Lemon Grass around your house its a snake repellant.

@Op firstly, there are rats in your house, there's a need to rid your house of rats "number 1 thing that attracts snakes". 2. This snake chase a rat into your soak away and couldn't find its way out, so it follow the only place where with its forked tongue sense oxygen, which is your toilet bowl. Many do believe that the water in the closet go all along to the soak away, NO it ends right after the U-bend that's why if you open the chamber at the back you find it dry. 3 get bottles of sniper and empty it into your toilet bowl and flush at least twice to kill other crawling stuffs breeding in your soak away. 4. Your 2 soak away pit are connected together, pls get a plumber to disconnect it, or expect more crawling visitors plus you may find out you spend more treating malaria as you will have mosquitoes and other insects infestation as result of your connected soak away.

We have soak away and septic tank. People keep saying soak away. how can a snake enteer soak away or septic tank that is concretized from top?

I don't think the soak away option is right unless it has a broken pipe. I still don't get how snake get into a sealed concretize soak away. If snakes is inside soak away (which I don't know how it gets there when its not earth worm) it will enter septic tank, so how does it connect the pipe to chamber to WC?

Maybe I can be corrected on this.

He should check every locks, windows, holes, broken piping, even his manhole in his house.

Is it possible fir snakes to enter the apartment thru the man hole in the ceiling of a one-dtorey building? Been wondering!
Snakes do climb buildings.
I was surprised when I saw one at my previous apartment. It was climbing the wall when I saw it.

Early this morning (around 12:02 am), I saw this snake on my lobby close to my toilet. I don't know where it came out from but there is a hole on my toilet where I usually see cockroaches. There is also an ant hole close to the toilet door. I don't know if it came out from any of those holes.

Also, does any one know the characteristics of this snake? Is it poisonous?

Do you think the snake offspring will be in my house?

This is the first time I am seeing snake in my house (the house is 11 years old). What can I use to repel snakes around my house?

Please help, I really need to address this. There is a 3weeks old baby on the other apartment. Thanks.

That look like a rain forest cobra if am not wrong. Highly Venomous and deadly, doesn’t look like a fully grown adult though so it means it’s a semi-adult and there might be others around. Responsible for most snake bite and death in the toilet and bathroom. Check your soakaway pit bro. Be careful please coz one bite from that will kill u since Naija hospital hardly get anti venom of snakes.

That snake is probably a loner that chased rats into one of the soak away, but you can't totally ignore the fact that there may be more. The chemical will kill anything in the soak away that, but like you said they'll always come back. Best bet is to call a plumber to check if the soak away and waste are connected. You need to disconnect it, if connected. And going by your experience I am 100% sure they're connected. But professionally the two shouldn't be connected, as the waste is nothing but a breeding colony for mosquitoes, roaches and insects. The two should be runned with separate pipes.vThat's the only way to stop this unwanted visitors.

Sorry sir.throw more light. How possible to connect a soak away with septic tank seperately.the concept is for the overflow from septic tank to enter soak away.there is always a connecting pipe btw the two.

Running pipes separately to soakaway gud but mind still a connecting pipe btw two

it means it's a mother and it maybe feeding young ones. it's probably a constrictor (non-poisonous) since there's no bright markings on its scales

the snake is non venomous. That's a typical house snake. I don kill many of them before I later knew it was none venomous. Their teeth is like that of a lizard. They don't have long fangs like their poisonous cousins

Yes it kills everything in your soak away, but they'll be back in just a few weeks. Best bet is have a plumber work on re-piping and disconnecting the tanks
Alright. Thanks

2 rats you say? Then it came for food. Tidy up your environment then fumigate. Fumigating without cleaning and clearing your surrounding/ environment is waste of funds.

Rats and rodents burrow or breaks the sewer line, a fully concretized tank may be hard to get in, but then you have to accept not all septic tanks are fully concretized, the waste tank being connected to the septic tank is a giveaway for rodents as it's not concretized for it to serve the purpose of soaking away waste. With this connection a lot of things can freely breed in the 2 tanks.
You points are valid sir, he surely needs to check other options, but going by the fact that he saw the snake close to the toilet give credence to the fact that it may be from the septic tank

The snake lives inside the ground of either your toilet or bathroom. I have killed two of these snake in my room. Just block any hole in your bathroom, toilet and any chamber outside.
In your room? Bruv, I swear I will never sleep in that room again.
