I really don't know why people fancy dreadlocks; especially those white garment type that look like pieces of old clothing woven together.

Dreadlock

Matted hair = dreadlock

So if I let my hair run free without combing it for a while like a month or two- it would start the locking process. Some hair are easily matted than others.

Or I could decide to lock it myself. There are two ways to achieve that.

So don't be a paranoid liar. There is nothing marine or spiritual about dreadlocks. IT IS A HAIRSTYLE. It is made hair, the hair in the head, natural oil God created from the body and maybe a bit of ingredients like shea butter, oil or even cream.

To others reading this, Man is not just a PHYSICAL BEING of meat & bone. He has other bodies, up to 7 to the best of my knowledge, now the black man is more naturally attuned to the spiritual realm than the other races and as such possess different gifts that other races have to train hard to get. The white garment churches know the usefulness of that type of hair even if they eventually chose to pervert it for their own uses. Ever wondered why Moses, Elijah & most prophets are portrayed with very long beards & long hair? It is based on the same premise. Find that out and you'll get your answer. The black man's bane is ignorance, preferring to ignore his soul, his roots & identity for a pseudo one and then turn around to blame the world for treating him like turd. Knowledge is really power & the black man unfortunately is not ready to learn anytime soon.

You have successfully said nothing, only blaming the black man... So dada is a sign of spiritual power? Cele master, keep deceiving yourself undecided

First of All...

Let's think about this chapters of the Bible...
NUMBERS 6: 1-27
JUDGES 16:13
ESEKIEL 44:20
1SAMUEL 1:11
SONG OF SOLOMON 5:11

Some made a vow not to cut their hair, to make it holy to the lord, God told some not to cut it until a certain period..

In Celestial Church for example, some children will be told not to cut it till they reach a certain age, according to the holy Spirit..

I think dread as is own significant According to the Bible reference above..

Thanks

Firstly, I want people to know that we have natural Dada, they are identity at birth. If you leave your hair uncombed what you get is not going to be the same as Dada( if comb, it would come out like Afro) and if you are born Dada, even if you use comb I believe the dreadlock will still come out.
Secondly, when I was primary school ,I stayed with a female traditionalist(léku léja in Yoruba ). Her last born is Dada and anytime Dada is angry, the woman would look for live snail, break it and pour the water coming out from the snail on the boy's head. Why? Yoruba traditionalist believe Dada is an 'orisa' and he/she has a young brother called sango( the god of thunder). That is why they used to say ' Dada koleja sugbon oni aburo to gbojule'.and so on
As a Christian I believe when you have Dada, you can prayerfully cut it and also disconnect the child from any evil.
In summary culture differs and you can't judge other base on your culture.

Period. This is the right answer to it. And the Bible also corroborated it. Samson has a dreadlocks because the Angel instructed his hair should not be shaven.

I'm sure it has a spiritual implication.

At least on one or two occasions, I have witnessed the negative effect of shaving a dread lock.

One happened some 15years back, I can't remember the details surrounding it sha, but I remembered that a baby's hair (which was already looking like dreadlocks) was shaved. The night of that day was dreadful. The veins on the baby's head became very visible coupled with high temperature. At one point, some of us began nursing the thought that the baby might die. Trust me, the experience was surreal. After some time, the thing grew back o.

We were told not to try that sh!t again unless the child him/herself asks that the hair should be shaved.

If you like believe, if you like, don't!

I couldn't care less grin

Meanwhile, Marlians will soon storm this thread... grin grin

there is no mystery behind dread my friend. children born with hair that cannot be comb similar to dread are mostly african (100% african children not with the white) and it's believe that this children are unique with special gift and i totaly disagree with that but rather difference in hair texture. the children born with this dread might be gene from their ancestor and as this children grow up the dread disappear (ie if the dread is cut regularly), dread in adult are form using chemical proceses or dirtyness take for instance 90% of mad man wear dread so my friend in my own opinion there is nothing attach with dread

Bros... "Dada" is neither an English nor a Hebrew word.

Moreover, the Bible didn't dwell on the specifics of many issues.

We all know (except you) how dreads are naturally formed and it was naturally formed the Nazarene way.

You are brainwashed to think physical characteristics that make someone black is bad. Why would God create dada if it's evil as you put it? The spiritual attachment made to dada was made by people not the other way around. It's just hair.

Better find how you will cut it off, nobody should tell you that it isn't a good thing. It destroys destinies. If you can name one important personality, I'm not talking of an Igbo smoking gangster, entertainer or musician who is a dreadlock, I will change my point of view

That is why I said you can not judge base on your culture. Dada is natural but in some culture they can be 'influenced'. Anything created by God is good but can be tampered with that is y you see a natural river turned to another thing. I am only expressin my opinion base on my experience. We are to learn from each other. Thanks.

Why is it synonymous with mad men and prisoners?
Because it's symbolic with dirtiness. Ever heard of unclean spirits?
Why shouldn't you comb your hair?
Re: What Is The Mystery Behind Dreadlocks 'Dada'? by Ghostrye: 1:42pm On May 14, 2020
The topic is weird AF. it's like asking the mystery of some people having straight hair and others having curly hair. Or the mystery of eji(gap teeth). Two things can factor in it, they are hereditary factors and developmental factors(what occurs in the womb). Dazzall

ummm I don't know, maybe because the owner of the hair doesn't feel like combing it, because it is his hair and he/she can manage it whichever goddamn way they want?
