BluntNigerian:
Scammers are now using the “Date of Birth” Lies to Scam innocent citizens.

Once they have your account number, they can proceed to hack the systems and get your BVN, and from there, they can get your name, address, date of birth, and so on.

And every information you ask of them as confirmation, they will just give it to you, so that you would think that they are genuine.

.....
On Thursday around 4:45pm, one Adebola called me with an ordinary number instead of the usual 0700-300-0000 that Access Bank usually call people with.

He said that he is calling me from the Access Bank Headquarters. He mentioned my correct name for me, and I concurred.

He then went ahead to tell me that the date of birth on my “account” in Access Bank is different from the DOB in my BVN (But I have more than one accounts with Access Bank, so he didn't specify which account he was referring to). He then told me that he needed to know which one out of the two dates are correct so he can correct it.

I asked him to break everything down with figures. He called out my correct DOB and said that it was the DOB on my Access Bank Account. He then called the same DOB and changed the year of birth, and said that it was the DOB on my BVN.

Habbaa!!.
I asked him to explain to me how that could ever be possible. He said that maybe the person that was entering the values made the typo error while feeding my information into the system.
He then told me not to worry, that they can correct it directly from the head-office, that a code will be sent to me to confirm that I am the one, so as to give them permission to....

I cut in immediately telling him that I will go to my bank first thing on Friday morning to rectify it.
He asked me “what sir?”, and I repeated myself again.
He dropped the call immediately.

I went to my bank on Friday to rectify the said error in the DOB, but got disappointed to discover that there was no error on the DOB.
In fact, every single information on my BVN-Page was correct.

The officer that attended to me at the bank told me that I did the right thing by coming to the bank.
..
That's the number that called me, and that is his name on Truecaller. (In the picture attached)
But he came across to me as Adebola.
The number is registered with fake information, just for the sake of fraud.

This your information is still nonsense.

Was expecting you to state how they use date of birth, DOB to effect the hack and you are here telling me the name of one nonsense fraudster you got from Trucaller.

You know what?

_Fuck all y'all, man!

Nonsense. sad

One called me today and used youruba to tell.me that "daddy wa" mistakenly sent card to my phone.

I told them that I had not seen the card yet that they should make sure it was sent to me.

He said that wasn't the problem anymore that "daddy wa" wants to talk to me.

I told them to first first send the card o. If not am not hearing anything. An old man's voice came on the phone. I shouted at him to first send the card before anything.

They cut the line and ran away...

This is their number 08102308105. Please if you can reach them tell them to send my card first. I still interested in what they have to say.

I thought they said with someone's BVN, they can wipe off someone's money.

I doubt it is true, if not we would have been finished. I think what those guys are after are to hack phones and get the pin codes. If it is BVN, these guys have it wella. The guy called mine accurately, I shivered.

I think I still have the recording.

I received exactly same call as the OP early last month. When he asked for my real Date of Birth after calling the correct and incorrect year, I intentionally gave him the correct one and told him not to bother asking me for any OTP code that will be sent to me cos I know his game being an IT person. He started swearing that he'll deal with me and empty my account. They were many of them cos I could hear their voices at the background. I told him to go ahead. He angrily cut the call. I think those guys have accomplices in those banks though, particularly Access bank.

My own with scammers is if they like, they should tell me the day my grandfather was conceived, or the day my father met my mother, or the day I was created by God or tell me the silent name I'm answering within, I don't give a fvck about whatever they say. That was how one called me last week and told me that they just blocked an attempt to withdraw money from my account. Then he started asking me all sorts of questions, well, I was in a good mood so I played along. So at the end of the day, I told him "I know who you are, thank you for banking with us.

For over 8 years I've been banking, my bank have never called me, even when my account risked being blocked due to bvn issue; so why will they be calling me now??

I received call from this young man. He told me his father “Ifayemi” mistakenly sent cards attached to me instead of sending it to his son to sell and use it to transport himself home for a festival.

He told me I should please help them send it back . I told him to “Bleep OFF”

The trick here is that After you transfer the cards back to them, they will start to pray for you and from there start to tell you to perform some rituals which attracts money.

You have turned their “ATM”

One idiot called me with this 0816 841 5239 yesterday morning. That he was calling from Access Bank HQ. He told me my Dob. That there was network issue at access bank and my ATM was affected.
From the tone of his voice i knew he was a scammer. That i should not be affraid, he will help me rectify it. I decided to play along so that he will burn his air time. He said are you with the Atm, i said yes. He said i should tell him the expiry date on the Atm. I told him it has peeled off. Meanwhile he kept telling me i should not be affraid. He said i should tell him my account number. I asked him to wait let me get it. I could not suppress the laughter. I told him mr Collins this is 2020 why are you using 2019 format. He said he will block my Atm and i cursed him. Immediately he dropped the call.
