I received exactly same call as the OP early last month. When he asked for my real Date of Birth after calling the correct and incorrect year, I intentionally gave him the correct one and told him not to bother asking me for any OTP code that will be sent to me cos I know his game being an IT person. He started swearing that he'll deal with me and empty my account. They were many of them cos I could hear their voices at the background. I told him to go ahead. He angrily cut the call. I think those guys have accomplices in those banks though, particularly Access bank.

I think since Access bank acquired some banks during merger, their security systems have been comprised and open to Brutal Force attack. There are Hack Tools and there are security tools. The Security Tools outnumbers Hack Tools. It's just like Trojan virus, that virus can affect your laptop, slows the PC, cause many havoc. Window Defender can't even remove it except Malwarebytes. Same to Banks, if their coding system is outdated, or runs on cheap codes, it may be compromised.

That is why people should stay away from all these loan apps asking for BVN number, I regret using them back then. They could get hacked and won't tell the public so as to protect their reputation.

This country is no longer safe... I thought banks should have the most encrypted security system.

Bank customer care can never be rude no matter the case... When the tell people know how you drop your account details online the will not listen... I just wish this guys would have use their senses to do good deeds this country will be much better...

Access bank has one of the best customer care service, they prefer calling to resolve issues only when you mail them first.

There was a time I needed to block my account fast because I thought I had been scammed, I was short of airtime and time was not on standby, so I made a quick call to them but it got disconnected and they called back immediately. I was extremely impressed.

To be sincere, i have to give it to them in the way the always attached a warning message to whatever text messages those scammers send or initiate.

That warning msg was what made me to think hard and provoked the questions that i asked the scammer.

The warning msg is: if this request was not initiated by you, contact so so number etc.

The mgt still need to do something more effective. Not every body will remember to read those hacked msgs sent by those scammers to the end. Some people may have comprehension challenges


The should also try and fish out the insiders or the cartel running this.

You should've wasted his credit. All you need is a pen to write down a fake 16-digit card number. I love to waste their time. I never allow them know I know they are scam. I play along till they get tired. At least I try to reduce the time they'll use on other unsuspecting victims. I like it when they call back to verify the details I gave. I always tell them to hold on while I get the card. Then I'll pull out that paper and change a digit in the number

Then they use other stupid games to get your date of birth too. Mumu people will keep on dropping personal information everytime till they have every information needed to steal money from your account. Later you will say they used jazz.

The trick here is that After you transfer the cards back to them, they will start to pray for you and from there start to tell you to perform some rituals which attracts money.

I quickly decode that he was a scammer when he requested for that. Since then, no calls like that again.
