I have degree in Microbiology but I’m thinking of going for Bachelor in Nursing, I don’t know anyone has done such here in this forum like I want to be sure if the visa officer won’t query me why I’m going for bachelors again after I already have bachelors in Microbiology
Please what’s my chances of securing a visa.

Lol...I had this same fear. I have a BSc in Microbiology and an MSc in medical microbiology. I applied for a second MSc degree. Just apply and increase your chances of getting a visa by showing strong ties to home, taking ielts and passing, get a 'good' sponsor and write a really convincing sop as to why you want to do a second bsc. Back it up with prayer and faith. You'll be fine.

Thanks for the response .. but won’t they verify it from the school I attended ? After submitting the transcript?
That is reason you have affidavit for backup.

AyaE:

The problem with changing your age doesn't even lie with the transcript. Aussie schools don't really use affidavits anymore. They would rather ask for NPC. Do you have a current/expired international passport? Does it carry your real age? If you do then changing the age is a process that starts from BVN. The change on your passport also has to be from Abuja.
If you don't, then you would need about 2 or more documents to change it. Do you have a current/expired driver's license, voter's card or national ID card? Does it carry your real age? What age does your waec result carry?
I had this problem and I just decided to risk it and use my real age. I was 29 when I got the visa.
If you can change your age then change it. It will increase your chances of a visa truly. An NPC doc will suffice as proof for the errors on your transcript and waec. You have to also remember that you must prove your gap years and have documents to show for it. Can your claimed year fit into this gap?
Note: it's always best to be truthful in your application however if you must lie, make sure your lie is sitting on a SOLID ROCK and nothing can shake it.

Thanks for the response i so much appreciate it .

I don’t have int’l passport ,never done it before , reason is because I know this kind of problem will surface in the future when I have serious issues about my academics. I once abandoned it and face my business and came back to finish it, which took about 7yrs cry for a 4 yr degree .

I don’t have waec , I did NECO , I think I can go to there office and change that .
For the BVN , I can change that after I get the affidavits cert. from the court .

Also , I only have voters card i can change that too . I didn’t do drivers license yet. I don’t have NIN too

Please what’s NPC doc ?

Having spent 7yrs in Uni plus couple of strike , how do I prove my gap years ?
Any suggestions? Ideas ,
Thanks
I have a baby face too wink

Good day everyone, I decided to pursue a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Melbourne.

Please is there anyone that has applied to this university and is the automatic scholarship valid with stipends, also is there any chance the English test can be wave since my degree in the last 5 years and research work is in English which is an option from the school in order to wave the English test.

Please I need advice and guidelines as I am doing it myself for the September intake. Thanks and God bless

Hi everyone. I just joined this forum because I have some questions I can't seem to find answer to within the long thread.
I applied to UniMelb (masters by research) last year and i still haven't heard from them (the application closed in Dec). My page says "application pending" which is supposed to say "application assessment" if they have started working it. I have sent several emails about the status of my application but they will respond with "...will forward your request to admissions and you will hear from them"
Spoke to someone who recently got admission in another uni there (Adelaide) and he said he used an agent, that they are faster than applying directly.
I want to know it this is true for UniMelb too before I spend 150-200k on an agent. Is there anyone here that got admission into the uni or is in the same situation as me? If there is anyone that got admitted there, can I know what you did in your case?

Please I am also applyng to that school please I would want you to put me through and I heard agent makes the application faster.

Hello house,

I am new in this Aussie forum and I wish to get some information before I start.
I am a Civil Engineer graduate with 6 years experience, I want to apply for Masters in any of the AL1 schools, i have checked the PR route but my points is 60, I didn't make the cutoff for 189. I graduated with 2.1 for my undergrad. and I will be writing my Pearson in a few weeks time because I have only IELTS general test at the moment which I think won't be accepted.

My questions are;
1. How much do I need in my account for the visa application?
2. Do I need Statement of account to apply to AL1 schools?
3. Can I use UKEAS for my application, as they are free? How good are they in the admission application? Any personal review from anyone that has used them before?
4. I have 14million in my account and I will be sponsoring myself, is this amount enough for the admission and visa application checks?
5. Any engineering masters program in the AL1 schools for November 2020 entry? I think I'm late for July admissions.

Please, help me out with any other information I don't have.

Thanks a lot for your assistance

Please what is AL1 schools. Is university of melbourne among.

My Canada application is post graduate I’m thinking sudden change to Bsc now after might be somehow.

NPC means national population census abi commission. I'm not sure. I know it costs about 13k and it gets ready after 2weeks. That's what I submitted as proof of relationship between my mum and sponsor. Also for marriage certificate (since my mum lost hers).

You don't seem to have a lot of 'potentially risky' documents. That's good since you want to change the age. I wish you all the best. Also, proving your 7year gap year is not a problem. You were in school at that time so it covers for it.
All the best!

Like someone said, most schools will refer you to an agent. I can't advice you on that. I started the application myself, got the admission but the school still referred me to an agent. So to each man his own...

You get 2 years post study visa if you study a course that is 2 years and above.
Getting PR is also another process. Seamless is relative to your circumstances and the current laws applicable when you complete your degree or post study visa

Mehn..This thread is still going on after over 5 years i joined. Good to see it still ongoing. Wealth of wisdom for Aussie faithfuls. All the very best to your dreams and aspirations migrating to Australia. Never give up and hold on to that dream. It is worth it, believe me. Australia is good. I guess things must have slowed down with covid 19 but it won't last for long. I also understand its getting competitive and they have been lifting the bar lately. Nevertheless, pursue that dream and make it a reality.

My advice to prospective student visa applicants:

There's never been a better time to apply for student visa! Australian Universities rely on international students for funding, and they are currently struggling due to the COVID-19 situation. As soon as lockdown is lifted and international travel resumes, Unis will be desperate to admit international students. The PM is already considering letting international students in soon so I predict visas will be issued en masse to eligible applicants.

So prepare yourself, choose a useful course and put in a good application ASAP.

Good day my people,

i studied microbiology as my first degree and i graduated over 7years ago and the only work i have done is freelance for insurance company as marketer and my business.

i have looked at various course that i could enroll for and i finally made up my mind to go with social work.

also i have shortlisted about six schools i want to apply to but the challenge/worries i have is writing a convincing sop as to why i want to study social work, as it is not related to my prior studies or working experience.

another optioning am thinking i should explore is getting admission for an MBA which i can link to my current working experience as a business person and after i get grant i would switch course on arrival to social work.

so questions are,

1, can i get admission for social work and MBA in two different school then transfer to the other school to study social work after securing grant?
2, is it possible to change my course within the same school after securing grant before the start of the MBA without loosing time and money?

please help a sister ... GOD bless.

IELTS Score- 7.0 (I had a minimum band score of 7.0 so my average was 7.0). I got a waiver from the school so I didn't need IELTS for school admission. My agent advised I write one for visa so I did.
School- Flinders University
Sponsor's account: My maternal uncle. Submitted 2 bank statements. One had 18m and the other was a fixed deposit account that matures every 30days. It had 13m.
Course- Social work (masters)
BSc- Microbiology

Submitted my credentials, letter from sponsor, proof of relationship to sponsor (uncle & Mum's NPC) and sponsor's account statement. I didn't submit payslips or my account statement sha.
Challenges faced: I already had an MSc in Microbiology so applying for a second masters was what I had to prove. Plus, with Social Work being a high risk course I had to write a convincing SOP. (I can share that with anyone interested cos mehn this took me like a month to write). My work experience was also a bonus cos I work as a care assistant.
Sometime in December the bank statement I used for the school admission could no longer be used cos he had to move the funds to another bank for investment reasons. He had to submit another letter to this effect. He also had to back it up with the fixed deposit account.
School resumes on Monday so if anyone could help with flight and accommodation links, I'd be most grateful.

Thank God!!!!!!!

Hi everyone...

I want to THANK YOU for all the assistance you've been dishing out on this platform so far.

First, I was advised to write IELTS here in my last message and I'm preparing for it now.
Please, I'll also appreciate any assistance with some materials for the preparation if possible. I have some materials I got online, but will appreciate more to help me better.

Secondly, I want to apply for Masters in Social Work and I have a B.A in History & International Studies. I'm looking at Monash University, is the school commendable?
I'm open to any other suggestions, please.
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Smile4mee01: 8:15pm On May 23, 2020
If you come from the streets in Nigeria, any school will do as you enter.

Anyways, Monash is a top university o. Go check their reviews, standard uni. IELTS academic can be tricky, so please prepare well. I go an average of 7 when i did mine, but i have lost the materials as my laptop crashed.

Keep your head up.

Australia needs international students more than you need them, then as per your course just write a tight SOP you should be good, try and tidy an red flag, hope u are using a sound agent that way they can help you better. Good luck bro.

Blessed.
