I have used 5 screen protectors on my RN7 and it's just 10 months old. I'm not buying again
Mine is 1 year old and I have used only one, the one I bought was for I think Samsung a20 or so and though it has broken in some places I still use it like that

By your logic those who buy phones of over 250-300k and want to try to protect their investment by using TP or case are careless abi? Na so.
I've never seen anyone who buys a phone worth 300k using a screen guard! Personally, screen guard irritates me and hide the beauty of a phone. Any force that breaks the screen guard without cracking the screen would not be enough to crack a screen without screen guard

I'm sorry to bother you again, pls messages app keeps crashing each time I launch it. I can't read or send any message. Is there something I can do to solve this? I got a pop-up message asking me to report the issue which I did but it's been almost 24hrs now no solution yet.
I've done hard reset severally, nothing changed.

I've been using my RN7 for almost a year now without any screen protector and I've not had a single scratch on the screen!

However, as a new user back then, I was very cautious of my device. I didn't wanna take chances even though the manufacturer explicitly stated the phone came with a Gorilla Glass 5 (the best back then as far as durability is concerned).

So I opted to get a screen protector during the first month I bought the device. I ordered from AliExpress and the tempered glass arrived in a few weeks.

I was glad. At least my device would have extra protection. But unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived.

As I was about putting the tempered glass on, it broke! I dunno how it happened but it broke even before I had the opportunity to have it settled on my phone screen.

Apparently, the tempered glass I was hoping would protect my phone was even more fragile than Cabin biscuit.

I thought about getting another tempered glass. But once bitten, twice shy. So I said screw it! Ama use my device with no screen guard whatsoever.

It's been almost 12 months and I and my phone have lived happily ever after since then.

The weird stuff is, my phone still looks like it was bought yesterday! I would love to applaud my cautiousness, but I don't think I'm really that careful.

I sleep on it mistakenly [sometimes]. My female friends take it away for hours for photos and movies. It has fallen from a transit. It has dropped from my hands [countlessly]. It's been mistakenly thrown to a wall.

Behold, my RN7 liveth on. NO SCRATCH on the screen! Probably I'm just lucky.

However, here's my final verdict: If your screen takes a hit than it can bear, it will crack! Tempered glass or no tempered glass.

The Gorilla Glass 5 is solid. It can withstand a considerably strong hit and even repel scratches (I can attest to this). As for tempered glass, in whatever variation they come, they offer no real protection for your device. You're better off using your device without one.

If i own a Redmi phone, i won't use a screen protector. But this nonsense lenovo screen wey i dey use, dey scratch like mad. The screen protector don scatter, i comot am yesterday embarassed

Did it work?

My own issue then was my wallpaper (gallery picture) reverting after sometime even after applying from the theme app.

All i know is, it has to do with compatibility. Either you change the font you are using or the theme or both.

We keep hammering on premium tempered glass, not the one that is poor in quality that will want to make you smash your device on the ground. Try a nilkin tempered glass(should be around ₦5k) and come back to modify your statement. There are grades to literally everything.

@the bolded that you have never seen doesn't mean it's untrue, a lot of folks around me use premium phones and they all have a form of protection on their phones. Not everyone loves seeing those ugly scruffs or those tiny scratches on their phones which are most times inevitable when your screen is naked. You see it's not about being "careless",

You can't go wrong with update. Except you deliberately power off or battery runs out

Use Mi cloud backup or use the backup and restore feature under settings (I'm not sure the later works with Google message app though - any of the Redmi 8 series). Use both.

Good morning guys..... I read xiaomi has phased out the multi colored notification lights in their newer variants, I mean the multi coloured lights found on the Note 4 series and some other older variants. I love how I was able to know at a glance the kind of notifications I had just by the kind of lighting on the notification led. Can someone using the newer variants confirm this? Thanks!
