Eastern Nigeria Development Commission (ENDC)projects by pazienza(op):
The Eastern Region government under Michael Okpara established ENDC to finance, build and monitor key infrastructures and development projects spread across the nooks and crannies of the region. It was also charged with resuscitation of abandoned colonial projects in the East deemed beneficial to the region development.

Today we take a look at the projects the ENDC carried out and how wide spread they were.

I thought you said you develop industry among the minorities

Isn't this just to exploit the Minorities in East?

You milk them of the money they make to build Cement factory in Nkalagu grin

PS: The idiot arguing about the cement in Nkalagu on my thread should come and see his stupidity now cheesy

He said colonial masters developed the cement factory not igbos because he was ashamed at how they marginalise minorities.

Where is the rest room in all these places

All I see is Plantations in those places and the revenues will be used to develop Enugu and the rest of igbo land.

Igbos couldn't develop Plantations in their own areas because they had small land mass, but could develop estates and fine hotels in their areas.

Bro, if you cannot read, call your brothers or sisters to read the news on your behalf huh

He would post an information and try to twist the narrative by saying something else.

It's like someone asking you to see red as white.

Let everyone look at the projects with objective minds.

All the none igbo areas generated the highest revenue, so why weren't they developed at the same pace as the igbos?

See the Ibibio areas of ibom with large revenue, yet not a single ibibio was chosen as a minister in the list we saw yesterday.

Why?

I just go through all these threads showing how we were on course to becoming the first black economic superpower, with a high sense of melancholy!

The biggest mistake the Eastern Region made was to remain in Nigeria with the Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani after 1st October, 1960! This is the ultimate mistake Zik made!
Re: Eastern Nigeria Development Commission (ENDC)projects by pazienza(op): 3:15pm On May 22, 2020
Unlike some people who were building white elephant projects with no impact on the populace, the Eastern region were ran by pragmatic leaders.
Nkalagu had limestone in commercial quantity, so it made sense to build a cement factory there to exploit the limestone.

PH is connected to Enugu(Nkalagu) by railways, and Trans Amadi industrial estate needed cements for heavy construction going on there, so Portland cement was established in Ph , which depended on limestone and coal transported via Enugu-PH rail to stay afloat, Genius! smiley

Eastern region did well under Okpara.
But Okpara's time was the same as Akintola, I don't know why you have to open a thread to belittle Awo's achievements.

What were Zik's achievements as premiere of the Eastern region?
