Bro, I'm sorry but the passport size put forward by you in bold is meant for PR candidates and not study visa applicants.

Canada Study Visa application passport picture size should be 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm). Full-face view. Your head should be seen from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin.

You all should be properly guided.

I compressed my pdf file to 3.94mb but when uploading on ircc I saw 4.09, although it uploaded successfully.

Is this ok?

Hello house, please I need your help for some questions I have . Thanks for the continuation of this thread, I’ve been looking for it.
-plZ does anyone have a link where I can get information on how to go about paper route application? Are we to submit passports or wait for it to be requested.
-Also, if a masters degree tuition in a school for two years is about $15k CAD will POF of 20M suffice ?
-I’ve read on this thread that FD and treasury bills are acceptable POF .. is a FD of 4 months okay?
-when applying for study visa, Can I also add my spouse’s statement of account or its better to move everything to one account
-I’ve read on this thread that it is advisable for a student who has a family to go first, use them as strong family ties and apply for them on getting there. If I want to apply for my whole family, wife and two kids ... will my employment in an oil and gas industry suffice as strong ties? .
- my wife’s mum also has lands worth lots of millions ..is there a way to prove that she’s the custodian of those lands and therefore has to be back to the country. (Strong ties)

Thanks a lot people. God bless you

Hello Ladies and Giants.

Due to the recent change from IRCC for fall lectures to be carried out online. I have been receiving series of calls, text messages and emails from diverse applicants relating to whether this immigration policy is applicable to everyone including those their applications haven't been approved yet by IRCC or issued a VISA. Some applicants told me that their agents strongly advised them to go ahead and pay for their tuition fees and enrol for online courses not minding whether they have gotten a visa yet nor been approved of their study permit application by IRCC. And that enrolling for online courses will help their visa application and increase their chances of securing a TRV. Please this is entirely a false statement as IRCC never made such comments

Today, I'm happy to share with you guys IRCC latest update about the above subject matter which I believe will clear the grey area for everyone's comprehension.

Distance learning outside Canada
Due to travel restrictions, IRCC acknowledges that study permit holders may be unable to travel to Canada and have to start or continue their program through distance learning abroad.

Students falling into one of the following categories will remain eligible for the post-graduation work permit if at least 50% of their total program of study is completed in Canada. Applicants may have to submit additional documents from the DLI confirming which part of the program was completed in Canada.

*Study permit holders who had already begun their studies in Canada, but left Canada and are continuing their courses online from their home country

*Applicants who have been approved for a study permit to begin a program in May or June 2020, and who will begin their program online from their home country instead of trying to travel to Canada at this time.

Under normal circumstances, all distance-learning courses completed outside Canada are excluded from the time accumulated toward the length of the post-graduation work permit. However, for students in the above categories, on a temporary basis, the time spent in distance learning abroad will not be excluded from the time accumulated toward the length of the post-graduation work permit.

Note: For applicants currently outside Canada who are scheduled to begin studying in May or June 2020 but who do not have either a study permit or approval on their study permit application, time spent pursuing their studies online will not count toward their eligibility for a post-graduation work permit.

In view of this update from IRCC, please and please if you haven't gotten a visa or your study permit application hasn't been approved by IRCC. Please don't listen to anyone, you're NOT eligible to start/enrol for any online classes from your home country. IRCC has made it clear that ONLY applicant who have been approved or has gotten a visa that are free to utilize this opportunity and by so doing will not affect them during the time of their post graduate work permit.

Stay safe guys, I'm always available here to provide you all with real time updates from IRCC.

I hope this information helps.

It will end in praise.

Hello house, I have a friend who has been worried about how to provide his proof of fund documents. He's 28 years, married and due to financial constraints was keen to source for funds. He was able to secure admission for PhD with funding from his supervisor that covers all his expenses including tuition and still has change. He also got another scholarship from faculty and this equally covers all expenses and tuition so he's left with enough money after offsetting all bills.
Note: the funding letter issued to him by the supervisor came from a well known Research Lab and was told to apply for study permit with the letter.

Question: He doesn't have another proof of fund. Can the two documents serve as his proof of funding. Please he needs a reply. Thank you very much all

Good day,
I'm new to the process of applying for the study permit, and would like to ask a few questions.

I got admitted to a school in Quebec for my master's, and got a scholarship of 9500CAD. The total fee is 27,000CAD, leaving me with a net payment of 17500 CAD. The school allows payment per term over the 3 terms. I intend to pay per term, and I have paid the first term fee of 5800 CAD.
As regards funding, how much does my sponsor need to present as proof of funds given the above? I'm concerned about the bank statement. Things have been slow over the last few months, but it shows a credit of about 56m and debit of about 52m over the last 6 months period, so the balance is about 4m at the moment. Is this sufficient ? In addition, I'm attaching property documents worth 50m.

At this point, I don't have any other financial funding source so I'd appreciate any advice on how to make this work or anything else I can do.
Thanks

Congratulations on your friend's scholarship award at the University in Canada.

Irrespective of the fact that he is been fully funded by the school and faculty, he needs to show POF for any miscellaneous expenses that might arise during the course of his studies in Canada. A bank statement of 1.5M-2M should be adequate in his case. He should try as much as he can to source for this money as soon as possible before filling his study permit application.

It's delightful to extend my congratulatory message on your scholarship award.

With regards to your question, your mom (sponsor) has to show sufficient proof of funds for your tuition and living for the first year and proof of how she can be able to finance for the subsequent years of studies in Canada. Following the above financial illustrations given by you, your mom is expected to have 9.5M closing balance in order to satisfy the visa officer that you will not work to pay for your fees or become a burden to the government of Canada in anyway.

I would advise that you should have adequate proof of funds before thinking of putting in your application. Don't hurry to apply, seek for assistance from close relatives and friends and see how they will be able to help with funds.

Its very possible provided you're capable of demonstrating to the visa officer that your intent of travelling to Canada is bonafide and strictly to undertake your program and return back home. More importantly, explaining what you've been doing since the past few years in Nigeria that hindered you from attaining any post secondary education until now. Your case is an arduous one and would require a rational statements to be able to pull through.

Your profile looks good only if the nursing program in U of Manitoba is higher than your already completed degree program in Biochemistry.

You can't be 100 percent sure. Even though you might qualify as per the Canadian immigration policy, no one is ever guaranteed of a successful application process. You have to prepare your application in accordance with the existing immigration regulations and submit it along with the correct supporting documents to be verified by the Canadian Department of Immigration. The format that one needs to follow is not clearly spelled out by the immigration authorities and a lot of times results in many applicants submitting their files incorrectly, unavoidably leading to denial. Therefore, it is advisable to read through the past threads, always seek for professional guidance by asking questions on this thread and gather relevant informations that would helpful in your application.

Hello house,

Trust you are all staying safe.
Well done to the admin

My brother’s wife application was rejected few days ago due to the following reasons below

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

Here are the documents submitted for the application

-Statement of accounts(husband and wife) with total balance of about 10m
-Her pension account of about 800k
-Landed Property worth 15m in husband’s name
-letter of employment & promotion (husband&wife)
-6 months payslip(wife only)
-letter of introduction from employer(husband and wife)
-notarized letter of responsibility from the husband
-admission/acceptance letter from the school
-acceptance payment receipt from school
-letter of English proficiency from university (first degree)
-police clearance
-upfront medical

NB: She has a little baby of 8months old that will accompany her to Canada and her application was submitted along with her one.

Please is there anything they are not doing well so that it can be corrected as they reapply?

Very much possible. Depending on the province. All provinces have different immigration rules. Check each province websites. Try something like this on google, it will lead you to the official website" ontario immigration" "newfoundland immigration".

Good day to the elders in the forum.

I got my acceptance letter from MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OF NEWFOUNDLAND yesterday to study a 2yrs masters program.

The Tuition fees is $9,666, and i got a funding of $5,000 per annum, which is expected to cover my tuition for the 2 years.

Now here is my bone of contention. I am planning to sponsor myself and i have 2 major questions:

1) I have been self employed since 2019, but i work as a freelancer (which does not relate with my admitted program of study). How will i present myself as my sponsor without implicating myself?

2) How much will be needed to show the availability of proof of funding?

All response will be truly appreciated... Thanks

1) What's your intended course and your area of freelance

2) Although nobody can tell you exactly how much, but you need to show school fees Balance of $4,666 + 10,000 for living expenses and miscellaneous expenses for flight and other possible expenses( rent).
So basically, u should show a balance for $20,000 since you are self-sponsored cos once you leave naija, no hope of money coming from u except from family.

No the letter is proof that his entire tuition expenditure is covered but not living expenses, rent or flight ticket to state the least.
He should have at least $10,000 or more to cover other miscellaneous expenses. The possibility of getting visa is looking bright here but can be denied of he submits without money showing he can feed himself..
Another question, what about the family he leaves behind, what provisions has been made to cater for the wife and possibly kids. I ask cos the applicant will state he is married..

1) Why go for paper route wen you can use the online, not saying paper route is bad but online is better and saves you the risk of carrying paper and misplacing essential docs important to you. My 2kobo, online is better cos it gives you the opportunity to monitor your application progress.

2) Yes 20m or more is fine. You can use a FD of 4months and your spouse can be a co-sponsor meaning he or she can include their own POF.. u dont need to move money to an account.

3) it's advisable to go first and den later apply for your family.. your employment later can't serve as a strong home tie but your property or other family members can stand as one

4) deed of ownership
