This thread is so Rich and i have gained a lot. I have been in stock trading for over a decade but going through several pages here has opened my eyes to so many opportunities in foreign stocks. I have done lot of research in over a week and i think checking Marketbeat and Yahoo Finance website may help a lot of people IRO stock picks, financial terms related to stock pick like Beta, EPS, P/E ratios etc. I have just opened acct with Bamboo and Chaka but at the end of the day i may start with Bamboo.

I hope to WIN big in this line of trade. Once again, a big thank you to all esp Seyisanya and YerYer

I am new in this, but I think the mistake you are making is trading on normal stocks that are way too expensive. Expensive stocks like that dont move, stocks like that are for long term.

If you want to day trade, day trade with cheaper stocks with a beta greater than 1.00. Last week, I bought some stocks I held for two days one I sold at 20% profit and the other at 12%. For me, that's fine.

I am new to stocks too. Just funded my Chaka account but still looking at the stocks to buy. I prefer those cheaper ones. Which one would you advice? Do you mind telling the ones you bought?

Hmm.. you should have asked the bosses here like Yeryer, oakpearl etc.

I bought remark holdings and Jmia technologies last week. Things are not same at every point. Currently, Jmia technologies went down after I sold.

The reigning stock is cannabis I think you can try that. Some of them are yet to perform. I bought CGC on friday and i may buy Aphria as spoken by the bosses.

But my advice is diversify your portfolio. Cannabis is good for now but as with most pot stocks anything that happens to one will happen to others. But the magnitude will be different.

Like I said I am new in this, I told u what I bought cos u asked me. I am not saying u should buy them.

You are correct., Your strategy is good

One of the reasons I can't buy Amazon or Google, they are far really long term, one year and above.

I use bamboo that charge me 1.5% for buying and selling, so whenever I buy, I always remember.i will be losing 3%. It helps me Decide and plan.

Between trove, Chaka and bamboo, is there anyone that allows you fund your account directly in dollars from a dollar card or from dorm account?

Having to fund with naira for them to convert at their high exchange rate is heart breaking.

Trove exchange rate for naira to dollar is at the roof. I have some dollars I wish to fund from directly.

Zebra technologies is a company involved in data and barcode tracking, I’m thinking this bus has passed though, the price has gained about 20% in the past month, still worth a look though... this is an article written about the company below by analysts.

As businesses around the country reopen, the discussion has already turned to ‘contact tracing—tracking where people go and who they come in contact with—to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The question now: What it will look like in the U.S.?

Contact tracing has become part of China’s strategy to prevent another Covid-19 outbreak. Tracing aims to inform anyone who has come in contact with an infected person quickly, so they can be tested or self-quarantine. Tracing has been used in the past, but the issue is becoming more fraught with today’s advanced technology. And it isn’t clear if America will adopt a similar strategy to mitigate Covid-19 infections, or future outbreaks.

American cities and businesses are slowly reopening. As they do workers have questions about health and safety. Management, for its part, says they are committed to keeping employees safe. Neither side wants to see an accelerating number of Covid-19 infections.

The common playbook for reopening, or keeping open, business includes: more cleaning, shift staggering to minimize person to person interaction, temperature checks as well as contact tracing.

Widespread contact tracing is under way in China. The system is driven from the top down, by both regional and local government officials. What’s more, China is employing a new organization of workers to parse through contact data, alerting people who have come in contact with an infected person.

People in Wuhan, where Covid-19 was first identified, for instance, are given their own QR code. Those are the funny looking black and white patterns that are a modern derivative of black and white UPCs, ubiquitous on all consumer goods. The codes are scanned in when employees enter buildings or facilities, building a list of locations people have visited.

One business with operations in Wuhan, familiar with the Chinese system, told Barron’s the strategy probably wouldn’t fly in the U.S. Still, Google parent Alphabet (GOOG) and Apple (AAPL) are jointly developing APIs, short for application programming interfaces, that can run in the background of smartphones to do something similar to China’s QR code system.

The APIs are being requested by U.S. states as well as governments around the world. Apple and Google, for their part, are involved to ensure the apps work consistently. Both stress that no user identity is compromised and the system is designed to be opt-in.

The Apple/Google solution is very advanced. Americans, however, are actually used to a very basic form of contact tracing: On customs form number 6059B. That’s the blue card travelers fill out when entering the country. People are supposed to list what they are bringing into the country. Importantly, there is a question about visiting farms and livestock. That’s to prevent the spread of damaging agricultural pests around the globe.

The new Chinese contact tracing system also employs forms and questionnaires for travel within the country.

The one benefit of a nationwide standard is businesses don’t have to worry about internally developed solutions. Zebra Technologies (), maker of RFID—short for radio frequency identification—as well as hand-held computing devices, says it is taking inquires from businesses looking to do a better job of tracking employees in a post-Covid world.

—ZBRA

Even if a national standard supplants company level initiatives there are still opportunities for businesses, like Zebra, to develop apps and analyze data.

Chaka allows you to fund your account directly in USD, even if it's $1! However, you need from $1000 to fund your USD account ''indirectly'' via Trove.

Finally the recovery has started...

Stocks soar as NYSE trading floor reopens from coronavirus shutdown

https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/us-stocks-may-26-2020

U.S. equity markets surged to their best levels in months as states continued to reopen and traders returned to the New York Stock Exchange for the first time since shutting down on March 23 to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied more than 600 points, or 2.45 percent, in the opening minutes of trading, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite were higher by 2.20 percent and 1.84 percent, respectively. The gains, which propelled both the S&P 500 and the Dow to their highest levels since March and the Nasdaq to its best level since February, come after all three of the major averages each advanced more than 3 percent last week.

I’d be leery to buy their share tho especially if they don’t have any potential blockbuster drugs in the pipeline and only banking on COVID vaccine for growth. There are just too many biotechs promising on a coronavirus vaccine and news keep changing everyday. Hence, assuming they all succeed, competition would be too high making to make them profitable. I’m even suspecting that some of them using COVID for pump and dump schemes.

I bought Inovio after their positive news, the stock plummeted later and I’m still waiting for it to recover.

After missing ACB rally, I had to choose between INO and ACRX. For some reasons I went with the latter and so far I hasn't disappointed me.
Entered Nokia and Big 5 sporting goods (BGFV) early today.

So 4 days ago on 30th January I bought into this Chinese electric car manufacturer NIO at $4.03/share.
I thought it would tank further when it went down to $3.80ish yesterday due to the coronavirus scare in China.
It has powered to $4.54 right this moment at an 11.7% gain today.

@YerYer, how's your options trading? Did you manage to check out the books? Just checking in. I'm always checking the posts without commenting seeing that most times the answers have been provided or I can't add value to the conversation. I do more of options in this season.

My trading account looks like this today, note the 94% loss on one of it, currently 85%. Thank God it was for a lower amount but %s are %s.

Well done to everyone for sharing.

Fools suggest Starbucks (SBUX). I had a quick look at their financials (just a little over 3 years revenue of debt) - Not bad, could be better.,
Roger (ROG) : Debt just a little above 2 and half years of debt) - Better
Hasbro (HAS) - I personally won't touch this one for a long term play - almost 8 years revenue worth of debt.

I have just listed them here, I know you will do your due diligence. Likewise everyone else that reads this post (Not recommendations)

Mehn I haven't checked out the books o. I work long hours and hardly have any time. But I will get to it very soon.
Lol I've reduced my option tradings for now but when I dabble into it, I only open small positions. My current win:loss ratio is very low because of the high IV and unpredictability of the market.
I buy undervalued stocks now; for example I got into Macys (M) this morning at $6.7, planning to exit at $10 or $5.50, whichever comes first.
