this name was one of my first 5 names I acquired in domaining. I thought it was a total crab.

early January when I acquired it, I did a lot of outbound but no replies. I even reduced the price down to $150 but no show. so I moved on.
fast forward to Sunday morning. I decided to check my domain on afternic, and boom, I saw something unusual and I asked, and bosses in the house came to my aid.
this evening I got a message from afternic that it's been sold.

Was the company still using the domain as at 2019?

There are times a name will drop in 2020. The comapny used the name between 2005 -20015

2016, 2017,2018 will be used by chinese or it will have a sale lander. You need to do due diligence.

I checked everything. From time of registration till 2019 February, they never dropped it for one day. Even koalacabinets/com used to be redirected to this very one until 2019 when they redirected this very one to koalacabinets. Currently, sewingandcraftclub// co still redirects to them and yes their official Australian website still refers us based customers to this very one and their mail has remained the same.

As for trademarking, generic words like sewing, crafting, and club cannot be solely trademarked to one person.

Check the whois.com of other domains they own, if there is any recent update, it will help you know, if they decided to drop this one on purpose.

I did and their recent updates nah 2018. Even if they purposely let this drop, am holding unto it.
