This is the reason i see Eastern cities as a port hole of the country. After the civil war, alot of displaced people return & start rebuilding; the FED.Govt neglect for a proper rebuild of the Eastern State's brought about the scourge of buildings without proper landscaping.
Neither the drainage's were properly channeled nor structured. even thou the city is just few K/M away from River Niger. This is not just the state govt but also the FED.Govt to intervene. These city is part of Nigeria. They should apply proper decorum and save lives. For e.g Old Niger Bridge is in a bad shape.

Most tyms car owners know they're packing on a waterway but will be thinking the rain won't be much until it comes to this. It happened to me one time and it's not a nice experience.

Op when was this video, because the state haven't experience heavy rain like what's in the video since this year, because of mega projects going on in the state.

When people deliberately block gutters throughout the city. The consequence is flooding. No Governor or President can clean your gutters for you!

After the rains, the people should come out and CLEAR all the gutters and take the rubbish away. Not dumping the rubbish on the edge of the gutter only to be washed back into the drains again.

Nigerians are amongst the most stubborn people that abuse their environments so much. Somehow, it's good when folks experience these things first hand. it helps them to understand the need for keeping the gutters open without any rubbish thrown into them.

Many credible vloggers have called on people to stop dumping refuse into drainage channels and ofcourse there is need for government to widen the drainage gutters in many places now.

I am sure the video is fake because it would have been reported by other vloggers in Onitsha.

However, folks in many neighborhoods of Onitsha must begin to clear their gutters before the June - August heavy rains begin.

Anambra has long past flooding issue of this kind.

Even at that, this is a light matter compared to Fegge and Okpoko flood issue which Peter Obi controlled effectively.

Which region in Nigeria that doesn't experience flooding?

The truth is that all the states in this country lacks proper drainage plans.

I don't know which city that experience flooding. Lagos has a good landscaping, Bayelsa and Abuja. Where as you can't even brag about flooding when Lagos is surrounded by Ocean. River flows while Ocean Encroach.

If you don't know which city that experience flooding, use Google search or YouTube.

I still maintain that all Nigerian states has very poor drainage systems hence any Nigerian city can experience flooding.

You can do little research on "Drainage Systems in Nigeria".
