Okay.
Can you elaborate on this please?

Its important we give Nigerians an alternative to the extremely vulgar programmes on the air

Na from backyard some people start their own business. Anything you can not invest all your funds in, and stakes, how will someone else invest in it?

Do you know some people that go for things like BBN, is so that they can advertise themselves and their ideas? You think everyone there is trying to promote nudity?

If you have an idea, you find ways to position yourself so that people see you, and tap into those ideas. You cannot stay in one place and wait to be found, you need to ensure you spread yourself in the right place.

chai, Op can lie, Aroma did great on the show, he used his lifeline and he never called to inform his family he was about to win, he called a friend to verify an answer, i guess you want to spice up the gist, but come on, do not lie to us like that, we are not suffering from short attention span and i wasn't that long ago cuz we're not kids here.
I wonder o.
He was not even very sure that the answer was "Peace". It was regarding a Nobel Peace Prize winner.
He just took a chance.

The OP has probably confused it with the British version. Something like that happened there.

He was really enigmatic on the show. His confidence was out of this world. He is a rare gem. I was at the verge of crying when watching the show, I was just wondering how a man can be so blessed intellectually. I really do miss this show, I wish it can be brought back.
he was Lucky too with some of the questions e.g The sport man that happened to be his neighbor

Regrettably, nobody talks about him anymore, no company uses him as ambassador the way they use the likes of Tacha, Mercy, Efe etc. That goes to confirm that in Nigeria, we adore and reference useless things and that explains why we seem to be backward in everything.

One doesn't need to sit down to reality shows to study the human nature, if that's what you're implying.

As a matter of fact, knowing that there's a camera around always will make you consciously or unconsciously act for the camera.

So the behaviour of the inmates or is it housemates are forced in that sense.

And the reason most people watch it is the same reason people stalk other people on social media.

And before social media, gathering to gossip about others.

Obviously, voyeurism is part of the human nature.

No slight on those who watch it. We all have our pastimes.

There is only so much you can do when the camera is around, and even then, you observe what people do with cameras around. Would their reactions be different if there were no cameras? It is called a social experiment for a reason.

Now, something I learnt when I was a teenager about emotional abuse, I noticed on BBA. It was how powerful emotional abuse was, and it was between O'neal and Feza. She was probably a very good actress, but she was visibly terrified of the guy and was always shaken when he was around, but once she knew he wasn't around, she was lively. I don't want to expatiate and give a lengthy talk, but there are reasons you will never understand because you think yourself too intelligent to watch such a show.

I'm not as invested in Big Brother as I was 8-10 years ago and have barely watched any BBN season, but I will not discount the lessons I have learnt from their acting.

You know the funnything? Someone is here bragging about KUWTK, as if it isn'theavily scripted. She thinks she is better than BBN watchers because she watched a scripted American show, what is the sense in that?

Anyway, acting or not, it still has lessons in it, like every movie you watch. Your head will not implode from watching the show, I am sure you have seen dumber things in your lifetime.

A lot of Nigerians just like to feel special and elite, same way people brag about not watching Nigerian movies.

The "who wants to be a millionaire", "Gulder ultimate search" and the "Multina dance" shows couldn't last on TV till date because the organisers and owners chose to sponsor them singlehandedly. It was a huge enterprise sucking deep into their resources and so couldn't be sustained. Throw the sponsorship open just like BBN show, and then see them thrive.

That night was one of the best moments of "Who wants to be a millionaire".

There was one question asked by Frank Edoho, the question was actually about his neighbor (who was a public figure). The dude just smiled, Frank was shocked when he told him that was his neighbor.

I benefited from the program as well, one time I went for the show as an audience & won "fastest finger" grin It was 20 of us @ 20k each.

Still has the congratulatory note with my name on it from MTN in my archives.

The neighbour in question was a football referee right? I think I remember quite vividly.

Who remembers this man?

Aroma Ufodike, from Nnewi, Anambra State, who appeared on the popular TV Show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in Nigeria” on September 11, 2009, and won 10 million naira. He was the first and only person to win the top prize in Nigeria, I think.

He got all the questions without using any life line.

When he was on the last question, he said “I want to use my 'phone a friend' option to call my family at home that I’m about to win 10million Naira.”

My thoughts also go to the intellectually balanced Frank Edoho

Where is Gulder Ultimate Search?

These are the type of programs we need to see on air not the extremely immoral Big Brother Nigeria.

This is worth celebrating indeed, but I'm not trying to shame BBNaija either.. I'm just saying..

I wish these intellectually stimulating TV programmes could return back to our homes. #GodBlessNigeria

He actually used all of his lifelines

50/50 and ask the audience and phone a friend

Lmao! Didn't see the show; but if the op's claim that he used his "phone a friend" option to call and inform someone he is abt to win 10m; then a John carpenter script was pulled on us

He didn't call to inform anyone he is about to win. He called to expend his 'phone a friend' lifeline on the last question and he guy at the other end gave him the correct answer.

One lesson I learnt- Intelligent people surround themselves with equally intelligent people.

Psychology and sociology majors will explain what is there in watching others live their lives. Most Nigerians don't understand things likethis, and will never understand it.

There is a British Youtuber that watches every Reality Show you can think of, and analyses it. If you watch his program, you will understand why some watch shows like Big Brother.

It is fine if it is not something you can wrap your head around sha, we all cannot understand everything
BBN is not real 4 research. everytin is entertainment. The quest 2 win 60m

Yes @op mistakenly interchanged one to another.aroma wasn't the one that called his family about winning.he used all his lifelines.but this is how history or events gets distorted somewhat innocently.be that as it may. Aroma wa highly intelligent.i tried my best to make it to the show but to no avail.very educative .never missed it.i will be checking time and whenever Frank will say says this is the much we can take for the day.i will be sad.the question of Linus MBA where he answered and said he lives on a flat above him in the same building was amazing.so lucky. However, will like to know his whereabout now.where is he? What does he do?these type of intellectually endowed individuals should be in positions to bring out ideas that can move this country forward.we want to be like Japan,Dubai etc is not by mouth.its by bringing ideas by endowed individuals and implement them.

Zlatan is a noise maker but Naira Marley is very talented..

Wish to know what he did with the ten million naira.
This is what our journalists should do
Also remember the lady whose two legs were damaged by a container. Did she survive?
What's her condition now?
Our journalists needs to follow up always.
There are so many of such cases they seem to have ignored.

The most magical thing is that abt 18months later after he won the millions... A guy on hot seat was gunning for 500k when he asked to call a friend........
He gave "aromas" no. (This guy). And frank was shocked and asked him if he knew him which he nodded affirmatively... When he was called up and frank exchanged pleasantries especially asked if he organised the party he promised his friends...the question was thrown at him.....

You won't believ e this guy gave the answer even before the options were called in...I was in awe!

The question is who won the pole vault gold medal event in the 1972 Olympics..?

That guy is not normal

You are correct but the Noble price winner in question was his neighbor living upstairs. The call to his uncle was for another question.
