As regards the reductions, they are all explainable, if in doubt contact your Bursary, some of them are even self inflicted e.g. additional local union levies, senior staff club levy, various loan facility levy so don't expect any pay back.

the question I always ask myself is that do government really value education as whole. Talk more of a section, it highly unfortunate but this I would prefer all union to join hands and fight for what is ours first before revitalization.

what really are you fighting for because personally apart from late payment there is not much to agitate for.

I'm sure they know and they will surely find their way out trust federal govt. Meanwhile they have not even talked about minimum wage arrears. That one is voice mail for university worker. The unions are polarized in universities. So at last they will give in. But ASUU see to be the best of university unions. They are more unites than others.

Well they don't know the value of education that's why we still dey find oga certificate since 2015 till now. As for the unions joining hands, it will be very difficult cos the Unions are polarized so they can't be effective anymore

We have a lot to fight for, MW arrears has not been paid, off campus rent, responsibility allowance and some others have not been paid since IPPIS. There are lots we need to tidy up through effective strike action.

Hope you haven't forgotten EA

Lol instead of university workers to start negotiations with salary and wages commission on those listed allowances they keep doing media fight. Citing agreements won't work, go and collect approval from the wages commission.

Recent events has shown that the IPPIS misdemeanor is unifying everyone.... There will be a common front this time.

ASUU struggles is more resolute cos the agitation is from the base going up to the National level.. So the leaders are very weary of not attracting the wrath her members, and not to soil their names...

It will be a big insult if our sister unions backdown over a few half hearted promises the FG makes during their struggles..

Fool me once, shame on you.. But, fool me twice, shame on me..

Nuff said...

You are listening to the OAGF.... The same OAGF that is justifying taxing our gross over NHF and union dues instead of our basic pay..

He even told us to go the Salaries and Wages Commission to complain when everything is written in plain black and white.

Your minimum wage arrears is your right.. Even if it is N1:00...na your money...

How can the OAGF unilaterally remove legitimate earnings of staff that the FG agreed upon... Anyway, it's left for NAAT to fight for it.. Afterall my hazard is N333.... Even Prof sef na N333 dem dey collect..

The unions sold themselves out for pittance during the negotiations when they allowed consolidation so we have CONUAS, CONTISS, etc Once NAAT or any other union can show such allowances in the agreement and that they have been gazetted, it will be paid.

Going further when last did our basic pay reflect in our payslips, was it not pre consolidation ?

So you are OK with the poor welfare and working environment, Are you aware that what you are being paid now is the minimum wage, which your previous salary is far better, you can also ask technologists in the house do we have sound laboratories.

My payslip have always shown every components of the salary when paid via GIFMIS ..

Basic Pay
Housing Allowance
Peculiarity Allowance
Hazard Allowance....

So you see, they have no excuse to claim ignorance... IPPIS is supposed to be an upgrade on GIFMIS... Not the other way round.

under GIFMIS payslips in our university of both teaching and non teaching did not show any basic pay, it showed consolidated and then the allowances.

We were not paying relevant taxes under GIFMIS, we were also not paying NHF, we were not paying 2% as union dues either.

With regard to sound laboratories, infrastructure, etc, that is a bit laughable because periodically there is NUC accreditation, and miraculously most programs get full accreditation so that problem is not of the FG.
Re: Has Any Federal Civil Servant Received The New Minimum Wage? by otokx(m): 1:50pm On Jun 02, 2020
IPPIS indeed was meant to be an upgrade on GIFMIS and that argument is one not to be ignored. It is unfortunate that for now it really is not so because it failed to understand the peculiarities. It also allowed itself to get adulterated in the aim to establish itself. It has ended up being a central collation GIFMIS.

NUC accreditation does not not mean the school are adequately equipped. It simply means they have the basic requirements to tutor students in a particular course...

Recently, lots of Federal Universities lost accreditation on critical courses like law, medicine et al.. That is a pointer that all is not well with the system...

The NEEDS Assessment funds was meant to stem this decay... So when you hear about revitalization, they are simply referring to this.

In addition, we all know what happens during accreditation exercises, we borrow equipment, staff, and even offices to give a false appearance in order not to be penalized..

So you see... People are just trying to survive in a discrepit system..
Re: Has Any Federal Civil Servant Received The New Minimum Wage? by otokx(m): 2:36pm On Jun 02, 2020
It will be nice if there is no window dressing especially by the assesors during NUC accreditation, that way the FG will not be able to give excuse for poor funding of the universities.
Re: Has Any Federal Civil Servant Received The New Minimum Wage? by otokx(m): 2:48pm On Jun 02, 2020
In our university, all striking lecturers have been paid May salary, some non teaching with the community bank have been paid, other non teaching constituting about 80% of non teaching are yet to be paid.

It is actually the host that does the window dressing to avoid the hammer..

The FG simply doesn't care.. If they were really interested, they would have set up a visitation panels to all institutions to vet their resources (manpower, equipment and qualifications) every 5 years as it should be..

They are dodging it, and that is part of the agreement they signed which they have refused to honor..

You know why... It will expose the rot in the system to their embarrassment.

They can't afford a repetition of what brought about the NEEDS funds..

This is quite strange... Colleagues from 7 universities are yet to collect their February - May Salaries.
