Yeah, having a work experience can be an advantage, but that doesn't mean people without work experience won't do well or contribute well in business school as you claimed.

The best 5 students of accounting and human behaviour in my class last semester were all from none MBA background including me. Mine was even worse because I was non-business background (chemistry) with just 1 year banking experience from naija.

What did I do?, when planning to go to business school, I simply enrolled for short online business, finance and management courses on udemy to prepare myself ahead, read several books and watched several videos on YouTube as well to get myself grounded in the task ahead of me. The way I "dey yarn for class ehn" you will wonder if was from a business background.

On recruitment part, Alot of us were able to secure summer internship with the likes of AXA, VISA, and several others before the covid pandemic even with our non business background/experiences.

I'm not disputing your point that work experience boost chances in business school, but just clearing it out that it's not a sole requirement of excelling in business school.

Anyone who has a clear MBA goal is adviced to try with or without business background or experiences.

Hello good Sir
i sent you a pm as i need your thoughts on somethings

Thank you so much for your time sheke01. I really appreciate it. That is thoughtful of you to pitch my tent with Northwest. Also, I believe data science has several applications in health, life sciences, politics, pharmaceuticals, diseases, etc. Can I send a dm?
sheke01:

Cleveland State University is broke. Our CIS dept have No funding. They will prolly admit you but without funding and non will be forthcoming.

I'll advice you to take any offer that comes with funding. If all offers are the same, I'll advice you to take Northwest Missouri state University Ms Information systems degree if the program is being done in their business school. I won't advice anyone to go for a data science or business analytics degree over a business school run information systems degree except he/she has years of working experience in hard core analytics.

IS degree gives you more flexibility than data science or business analytics alone. There's a rumour that Covid 19 has burst the data science hype. If business are broke, then businesses won't be experimenting much on data science. So it's better to go for IS degree that you can venture into data engineer, DBMS, data analytics, data science, cloud computing and even software development

Please, my wife just got MSc admission into UMKC (University of Missouri, Kansas City) for this August session and she got $11k funding from $22k tuition. She didn’t write any exams (GRE or Toefl), they waived it for her. will those not be a barrier at the embassy? Kindly treat as urgent. And I also need an experienced soul to chat with personal on further enquiries. God bless you all

I am sorry about this question. I am just curious.
Let's assume you applied for a course for your masters with funding and you got your Visa. Can you change your course when you get to the states?

The reason is that I desire to study a course but if I want to be honest with myself, I don't have enough profile experience in that course to convince the embassy.

So, if I go ahead with my undergraduate course and I get to the states can I change my major to something else entirely?

I registered by myself

I have a lot of materials ( Princeton ,Mcgraw ,Kaplan, Barron and co) I got all these through torrenting but I only use College Panda, and Erica meltzee for my writing and reading and math.
I also use Khan academy, Uworld,1600.0i.The materials in bracket are good but they are not from college board,so be careful how you use them

U can also join r/sat a sub in Reddit
It will help keep you motivated for a top score

Thanks Man. I will check out those sites and use them especially Khan Academy and 1600.0i. I've heard about them and I also visit reddit as well. In total, how much did you spend and I read you need to have an international passport as a means of identification to write the exams. And I would also need your help concerning how to get those materials. Should I DM you with my email address?

It’s legit and you can do your findings before payment
Send a DM

I spent a total of #42275 for my registration (excluding data , passport and other inconvenience)
About the international passport, I already have a national identification slip so I guess am good to go. All u need is something of national importance including voters card. All they need is something to tally with the information on ur admission slip and their system
U can dm me , but the biggest problem I am facing is that most of the files are larger than Gmail standard 25mb maximum. I am thinking of working around it

if the person is not a proctor simply disregard the information.
I got this information from calling the number on Grundtvig Academy website as they are one of the exam center in Nigeria. Although it is not a center for the August exam, they were involved in the March exams and should be at least"reasonably" accurate

Have you written the Exam? Last 2 years when I wrote GRE, only international passport is accepted in Nigeria. I cant say whether the rules have changed. You should be aware of the rules if you have not written it. ETS website can tell what is required

Look at this on ETS. Not exception will be made.

Hi Guys,

Thank you all so much for your contribution on this platform.

This is where I am at:

I got admission into 6 US universities.

Texas Tech : Computer Science (1k Scholarship, instate tuition)
Purdue University, Fort Wayne: Computer Science (didn’t qualify for GA, they already picked 5 people)
Oakland University: System Engineering (GA Pending feedback)
East Tenesse State University: Computer and Information Science (No feedback yet)
Michigan Tech: Data Science (No GA for data science)
North Carolina A&T State university: Computational Science and Engineering (GA pending feedback)

I have also gotten my i20 for Texas Tech, however I’m not quite sure what next step to take seeing that COVID-19 is grinding everything to a halt.

Should I pay for visa fees, can we schedule interviews whilst the embassy is still closed.

Or should I just defer the admissions?

Any advice kind Sirs and Mas?

Also, is there anyone in ETSU or NCAT that can help with advice for G.A? There’s been no response and I’m chucking it down to the COVID-19 brouhaha. But any other useful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please.

Thank you.

Got an offer from TTU as well; Political science and I can assure you, I’m somewhat despair with this fall resumption. I’m pretty looking much ahead of spring and my decision would suffice by the end of June.

What’s your TTU deficit ?
