I'm done with capturing now but they said they must sight the passport before submitting my file for onward processing. I have called someone to bring it for me, I'm just here waiting and imagining how long the person would get here due to traffic.

let the person show us what happened then. Maybe he knew an insider that did coded op. for him or her.

but I stayed for over 2 hours to see if there would be any suspicious move by the people around, none.

As of Friday,I was told that only the Nimc offices in Ikoyi and Ikeja were working. I got my Nin from Ikoyi passport office on Friday.

Do the pre-enrolment online and go with printed confirmation to make things faster. I have done so, going for NIN capturing next.

They are not working. I have been there like 3 times this week. So, those saying NIMC Ikeja is working are obviously not saying the truth

As I did not do a renewal, I cannot provide all the answers.
But after printing your form online and gathering all your docs including the photocopy of the old passport's data page, just proceed to Ikoyi with them, you don't need to wait for an SMS.

Yes you need to go with your old passport for sighting purposes, very important.

I don't know if you need a passport photograph, but better safe than sorry, right?

I have tried so hard to get a NIN but can't find a way. Ikeja NIN registration post doesn't work. Ikoyi NIS won't let you into their premise for just NIN registration. NIMC office alausa says they don't have provision to work in covid-19 lockdown so they likely to resume next month.

Since I can't get a NIN I will have to go for the standard passport for renewal.

Any advice?

I heard from someone that most times, it's not advisable to wait for their messages before collection as this could take time. I learnt that most times they contact passport owners very late.

Although it still has 1 yr and 3 months validity on it but i want to renew as it is required for a particular purpose. I check the website I saw the requirements and one of them entails .. writing a letter... is there any sample of the letter ?

Please has anyone renewed passport in recent times ? I tried using an immigration officer and I was billed about 50k .. that’s too much .. I stumbled on this thread and .. I choose to do it myself

I did submission and capturing same day. I was told to come back for capturing, but with the long distance from my place to Ikoyi, I pleaded with them and I was allowed to do capturing. Please who has an answer to my question?
