Asaba is a modern city in the south south with a fairly good road network. It used to be a small town until more states were created and Asaba became a capital city and it witnessed rapid development thereafter. Most of the roads and infrastructure in place were created after the town was upgraded to its capital status.

Benin has been in existence for over 800 years so, you cannot compare the two. It used to be the capital of an old region and state as well. If you talk of number of infrastructure, benin has more. But comparing the modern status, I give it to asaba because most of those infrastructure seen in asaba are not up to 30 years old.FMC asaba easily came to mind. Benin has more of the brown-roofed ancient structures.

Without further investigation and prerogation of what differentiates the two geographical terrain of the two states we can practically, geographically confined the beautiful of the two steriotical capital of the two states to be aggravated as inhumane physiological barbarism to Asaba which is unequivocally below to Benin.

Take cross river and akwa ibom for example, cross river was the most beautiful state and fastest developing state in Nigeria before their oil was ceded to akwa ibom, and now cross river is still where it is and it's growing slowly while akwa ibom is developing faster than any other states in nigeria.

Yes but also do not forget how the resources are managed. The states with the biggest resources are badly managed by those in charge. That's why our federal structure must be truly addressed.

OBJ for example clamoured for allocations to the local governments to be paid directly into their accounts, but the governors have continously rejected that. See if that ever happens and resources are well managed development can get faster.

U can't compare present day, Abakaliki with Benin. Again, Benin is living in past glory. The town called city can no longer develop past its present form unless, govt start demolishing all this mud houses scattered around Benin.

There is no single bridge in Benin apart from d flyover at Bypass. Go to Abakaliki today and count them.

Apart from Uniben and Guinness, no other job creating company dey Benin.

Driving through that unfamiliar territory, I knew I had lost my way, so I had to ask someone what my present location was called.

...I just looked around me and quickly compared the environment with that of the GRA in Port Harcourt. And I was like,
"Na wa o"

I had to stop another guy, asked him the same question and promised him 1k if he'll just hop in n show me a route to, at least, Ring Road or Kada
(which were the most familiar landmarks I knew in Benin City back then)

The thing is midwest then wasn't receiving huge allocation, if been capital was the key to developement then ibadan state should be the most developed state in southern nigeria but now owerri, enugu, and almost all south south cities are finner than ibadan.

The 4 richest state in Nigeria aside Lagos are
Delta
Akwa ibom
River state
Bayelsa

They all receive six times of of what other states receives, they should at least be six times more developed.

Don't forget nddc have more works in Delta compare to Edo state because Delta contribute more to their pulse.
