I am still wondering how bubu drop this woman of vast knowledge and connection from his cabinet and with the help and support of Lagos ibadan expressway journalist who demoted her and promote kemi adeosun. now let us juxtapos both of them. where is kemi adeosun and where is okonjo iweala? okonjo iweala helping to solve Nigeria and fix Nigeria problem. Fulanis under the auspices of Yoruba people have finished Nigeria. 96 Likes 8 Shares |

Of course NOI stands a better chance than the others, but now OP says America was involved in her emergence as Nigeria's candidate but failed to explain how that happened. 35 Likes 4 Shares |

If Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has the backing of Nigeria for the post of WTO DG Egypt should do same by backing its own and not trying to lobby for other candidates to withdraw from same post 8 Likes 3 Shares |

When I read about Egypt’s rejection of her nomination, I was a little bit worried thinking Nigeria might have shoot herself in the foot. It’s good to see that Egypt is only making empty noise all over the place. International law and trade experts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wouldn’t have advised the president to withdraw Agah and replace with Okonjo-Iweala if the window for such replacement had closed. It will be a thing of pride if the Buhari administration can successfully pull this through. Having a Nigerian as the DG of the WTO for the very first time will be a big deal. A Nigerian is currently the president of the UN general assembly, Adesina is the president of AfDB and Amina Mohammed is the deputy Secretary General of the UN. If we successfully add WTO, it shows that Nigeria is now pulling her weight in the international community. 122 Likes 10 Shares |

Egypt is simply rattled by this development because they thought they have pulled it off.Remember the politics involved when Boutros Boutros-Ghali became the UN sec gen in the 90s. This is global politics where you just have to put forth your best bet to have a chance of negotiating better economic benefits to the continent.NOI have so much of such exposure anyday and anywhere than these other contestants. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is simply the best for this job, sentiments aside. We should as a matter of necessity put away all differences and present this woman to the world as a united Africa. She is good at what she does. 13 Likes 2 Shares

I will never understand the clamor for regional representation in Nigeria. The deputy DG is from middle belt... What has he attracted to the middle belt from WTO? Same with others in various positions in government - how has their being there benefitted their state or regions? I would love to know. Appointments should be done based on competence and not sentiments. 16 Likes |
