Good morning mamas in the house. I’ll like to make some inquiries please. I’m about 21weeks gone. The hospital I’m using often give me Pregatone which I have being using consistently but during my last appointment the Obgyn, she added Folic acid and Calcium to the Pregatone as she said the my PCV is abit low and I needed to build more red blood cells.

I hate taking drugs and the first time I took both the folic acid and calcium in addition to the Pregatone tab...I threw up everything. It was really bad that day cause I felt like my morning sickness was returning again. I had to stop after that day and just continued with only the Pregatone.
It’s been about three weeks now. Please do you think I should be worried because I don’t know if I did the right thing
You may try them at different times. I hate drugs too but I was able to chew on folic acid then take calcium later sometimes inside eba because I find it hard to swallow drugs. I prefer chewing but calcium is too strong. Try taking them singly at intervals and if it doesn’t work for you talk to your doc on next appointment for another option

I will speak with my doctor at the next appointment...I can’t stand the sight of drugs these days not to talk of taking them

Hi folks,

We are pregnant and it's our first. We did pregnancy test early March and it was confirmed positive.

But we have not started ante-natal. I ensure she gets fruits and vegetables especially watermelons, apples and carrot. Yeah! She now loves carrot more than Australian rabbits grin.

Covid-19 affected our finances and almost brought us to a low. By we are getting back fast on our feet and I wish her to start her ante-natal since covid-19 scare is gradually fizzling out.

How do we start? Any advice on how to care for my paragon of angelic beauty and our babies will be greatly appreciated. I used babies cos I know I told God I wanted twins, and I wanted it this year and He got us pregnant around late Jan/Feb.

My angels complains of aches and she often asks for a rub or a massage. Her elder sister says she shouldn't worry since she can start by 6th -7th month. She is experienced as she has 4 kids. But what do I know?

I don't like hospital either, but I don't have a choice right now, do I?

My angel does not leave the house any more cos she is kinda shy of all eyes feasting on her. Yoruba people can look person for Africa. She is an ambivert, so I quite understand her plights.

I would love for her to take short distance work and do few squatting to get her engine warmed up. if not up and running. I am worried all she does is sleep, watch her favourite TV shows and eat. It's on a repeat mode. Do I allow her continue this routine. Or should I get us joggers for evening stroll even though she won't welcome the idea. Anything that will keep my angel healthy is my priority, regardless of comfort.

Lastly, I will love to know what my expectations should be as a father. I need to make financial and ancillary plans. I don't want to disappoint, even salaries have not be coming in. She resigned due to this and covid-19. It was my decision.

I had plan on giving them the very best, even though my finances is saying otherwise right now, I still have about 3 months to get it up and running, so I will soon double my income and give them they very best. I will be grateful to get a rough estimate to aid my plans. I do not wish to be taking my surprise.

Is it too late to start anti-natal at the end of this month?

Other than the aforesaid, and the fact that she loves to sleep under air-conditioning and seldom gets any sleep when electricity is gone, there is nothing to worry about.

Just on the side, I am now an automatic chef cos if she cooks, she finds it difficult to eat. I am also Okon cos I run the errands and shopping, but I can't complain cos this is exactly what I asked God for and he didn't deny me on the alter of Mark 11:24. We got married in June 2016.

Thanks for having me here. I am super excited I am gonna be a father of 3 soon. The only one I have now is making too much yanga (akor) for me. grin
Good morning our sabi mamas, please help this dad to be on his questions o so that he'll get ready. Thanks to you all and safe delivery to every pregnant woman here.

Hi folks,

We are pregnant and it's our first. We did pregnancy test early March and it was confirmed positive. congratulations on the BFP

But we have not started ante-natal. I ensure she gets fruits and vegetables especially watermelons, apples and carrot. Yeah! She now loves carrot more than Australian rabbits grin. Please let her start antenatal since is her first child, she should be taking folic acid and some prenatals by now. Carrot is also my favourite although is costly now

Covid-19 affected our finances and almost brought us to a low. By we are getting back fast on our feet and I wish her to start her ante-natal since covid-19 scare is gradually fizzling out.
Same everywhere, it's well. Covid or not, she should start her antenatal as far as she maintain all the requirements

How do we start? Any advice on how to care for my paragon of angelic beauty and our babies will be greatly appreciated. I used babies cos I know I told God I wanted twins, and I wanted it this year and He got us pregnant around late Jan/Feb.
Just bear her complains, it'll end in praise

My angels complains of aches and she often asks for a rub or a massage. Her elder sister says she shouldn't worry since she can start by 6th -7th month. She is experienced as she has 4 kids. But what do I know? Massage her, she should also take calcium or anything that is rich in calcium for stronger bones. I believe her elder sister didn’t start antenatal around that month with her first child. Experienced or not, as far as she is not a gynaecologist. This is my 3rd,i started antenatal at 5m. My hospital warns against starting around 6-7m. Cos first TT dose should be taken around that 4-5m and also malaria preventive drug too

I don't like hospital either, but I don't have a choice right now, do I?
Yes you do have a choice, you can come on the day of delivery and be with her cheesy

My angel does not leave the house any more cos she is kinda shy of all eyes feasting on her. Yoruba people can look person for Africa. She is an ambivert, so I quite understand her plights.
She has no choice but to leave the house cos antenatal and delivery should be in the hospital and not at home. Anybody can look for Africa no matter the tribe, is it not eyes that she use in seeing them cheesy.

I would love for her to take short distance walk and do a few squatting to get her engine warmed up. if not up and running. I am worried all she does is sleep, watch her favourite TV shows and eat. It's on a repeat mode. Do I allow her to continue this routine? Or should I get us joggers for evening stroll even though she won't welcome the idea? Anything that will keep my angel healthy is my priority, regardless of comfort. I bet I'm the laziest woman on earth with this pregnancy, I just started exercising. She will surely exercise, nobody will remind her cheesy

Lastly, I will love to know what my expectations should be as a father. I need to make financial and ancillary plans. I don't want to disappoint, even salaries have not been coming in. She resigned due to this and COVID-19. It was my decision. Save extra money for hospital bills, baby things and immunization.
They're the most important. At the bold, hope you have something that she'll do after giving birth since you told her to quit her job

I had planned on giving them the very best, even though my finances are saying otherwise right now, I still have about 3 months to get it up and running,I will soon double my income and give them they very best. I will be grateful to get a rough estimate to aid my plans. I do not wish to be taking by surprise. is well, it'll end in praise

Is it too late to start anti-natal at the end of this month? No

Other than the aforesaid, and the fact that she loves to sleep under air-conditioning and seldom gets any sleep when electricity is gone, there is nothing to worry about. I sleep on the tiles even when the AC is on

God bless you for that

Thanks for having me here. I am super excited I am gonna be a father of 3 soon. The only one I have now is making too much yanga (akor) for me. father of 3? You mean your wife is the first. You're welcome grin

[quote author=litigator post=90394032]Hi folks,

(We are pregnant and it's our first. We did pregnancy test early March and it was confirmed positive.) Congratulations sir..

(But we have not started ante-natal. I ensure she gets fruits and vegetables especially watermelons, apples and carrot. Yeah! She now loves carrot more than Australian rabbits grin) .

Please start antenatal as early as possible

(ovid-19 affected our finances and almost
brought us to a low. By we are getting back fast on our feet and I wish her to start her ante-natal since covid-19 scare is gradually fizzling out.
How do we start? Any advice on how to care for my paragon of angelic beauty and our babies will be greatly appreciated. I used babies cos I know I told God I wanted twins, and I wanted it this year and He got us pregnant around late Jan/Feb.)

You can register with both private hospital and government hospital.. Government hospitals has more expertise compare to private and they don't take chances at all.. I'm talking from experience.. In my case I use both... Gov hospital was quick to detect my case of pre-eclampsia and they were able to control it till 37 weeks... In my first preg I used only private n I end up giving birth at 7 months.

(My angels complains of aches and she often asks for a rub or a massage. Her elder sister says she shouldn't worry since she can start by 6th -7th month. She is experienced as she has 4 kids. But what do I know?)

Pregnancy differs o..

(I don't like hospital either, but I don't have a choice right now, do I?)

(My angel does not leave the house any more cos she is kinda shy of all eyes feasting on her. Yoruba people can look person for Africa. She is an ambivert, so I quite understand her plights.)

(would love for her to take short distance walk and do a few squatting to get her engine warmed up. if not up and running. I am worried all she does is sleep, watch her favourite TV shows and eat. It's on a repeat mode. Do I allow her to continue this routine? Or should I get us joggers for evening stroll even though she won't welcome the idea? Anything that will keep my angel healthy is my priority, regardless of comfort.)

It would be nice if she can take a stroll in the evening, just for exercise

(Lastly, I will love to know what my expectations should be as a father. I need to make financial and ancillary plans. I don't want to disappoint, even salaries have not been coming in. She resigned due to this and COVID-19. It was my decision.)

Financially I would encourage you to budget at least 300 000 for hospital bills just incase if it's CS.. CS is cheaper in government hospital compare to private... Vaginal birth ain't expensive
Also is good to have all your baby things when your wife is seven months pregnant... By then you would have known d sex of d baby... Budget at least 100k for baby things...
(I had planned on giving them the very best, even though my finances are saying otherwise right now, I still have about 3 months to get it up and running,I will soon double my income and give them they very best. I will be grateful to get a rough estimate to aid my plans. I do not wish to be taking by surprise.)
So in summary have at least 300k - 400k

Is it too late to start anti-natal at the end of this month? )
No it's not

(Other than the aforesaid, and the fact that she loves to sleep under air-conditioning and seldom gets any sleep when electricity is gone, there is nothing to worry about.

Pls mamas in the house has anyone experienced a peppery painful sensation on the right side of my upper tummy, directly under my right breast! Because of pandemic I decided to go to a nearby lab just to check it out probably it’s the Baby’s leg or something (since I didn’t know what to make of it! I’m 32weeks gone) the lab guy said gall stone but it’s nothing to worry about, that it will most likely go on it’s own..I was not at peace so I decided to visit my clinic, I perceive the doctor didn’t take me serious as he just kept asking questions to make me feel like I don’t know what I’m saying, all he did was give me Pantatozine injection!
The pain did not subside, it’s as though I have an open wound in that location (it’s not ulcer)
Pls mamas any advice or relatable experience! I don’t just want to assume that every pain i feel is pregnancy related and keep mute..this is unusual!
