The Bank would know. I used stanbic IBTC when I did mine and they were even the ones telling me how it's done. For clarity purposes, they went further to state the prevailing USD conversation rate of the sum in my account.

Anyway, Na way. If he /she feels this is what will make him/her pass... My brother/sister, do o. As we all know, exams generally has its own mental part that guarantees success and if he/she strongly feels doing it in Dubai is where success will come from, we should encourage him/her cos the exam can be frustrating and would waste ones application time.

TBH, passing ielts can be funny, not like we have all not done english language before, but there is just one spirit or science about the exam that I can't explain, lolz. I v seen first class students take it multiple times and an average or below average student pass it once. The exam has a degree of luck and favour from the Almighty!

My brother/sistee the Moneybag, all the best bro/sis and bring Ghutrah scarf for us o! Lolz

Hello people, my score in the pool currently is 393, my hubby and myself have masters. My last lelts result was L.7.5, W.6.5, R.7.0, S.7.5. I am taking the IELTS again later this month, I aim to score at least 8.7.7.7 to boost my score. I heard TEF can help boost my CRS score, can someone advise how TEF can help boost my score. I am willing to learn french seriously and try the exam in 3 months to see if it can help.

you cannot realistically learn French in 3 months. Focus on maxing the ielts first. Getting a clb 7 in French(equivalent to ielts 6666) gives about 42 points.

My people I bring you greetings.

It’s part 9 already!!!!!
I joined the thread in part 3 during the era of Newmum, Ysteph, Canadianfly, Mcstan, Smslive, etc. but decided to take a break in part 5/6. A lot would have gone down the drain, no doubt! I created a new profile as I forgot the password used for the first one.
Will be back soon with my story, it might be a source of encouragement to those that are still waiting or about to start the process. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

Please is there anyone else like me whose passport has been stuck since this corona thing;
Submitted our passports to VFS since March 2020 for PR visa stamp and my IRCC profile had been updated with counterfoil since 10th March;

However VFS tracking has been stuck on "Your processed passport has been forwarded to the Canada Visa Office on 2020/03/04. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website" for over 3 months now.

Called and emailed VFS severally and no response (their office remains closed). Please who has any ideas on what we can do as the deadline for our travel is fast approaching (in 3 weeks).

I did my evaluation last year. I just went to the records office to request for my transcript, i also went to foundation office to request for my transcript. The foundation office sent my diploma result to the record office, the record office sent both of them to WES together. I started in May, got my final evaluation in November. I don't know why it took that long though.

I didn't know the diploma would be evaluated as a second certificate, I just included it.

It's not about bitterness bro. That money you want to use to travel and write that IELTS exams in Dubai should probably pay for 4-5 IELTS exams fee here in Nigeria! I believe if you are really serious and dedicated to the IELTS exams here in Nigeria, you should pass. What if you travel and still don't pass?? but you already have the believe that you won't pass it if you don't travel so I think that's whats best for you and you should do just that. BEFORE YOU ACHIEVE YOU MUST BELIEVE.. All the best!!

I honestly laugh really hard when I hear people say this..see English you have been speaking, reading and listening since birth you couldn't ace it,you now want to learn a foreign language and do reading, writing, speaking and listening and pass in 3 months....please lets be realistic with ourselves... It takes an average of a year of consistent speaking, listening , reading and writing to get a very good score in tef as well as plenty sprinkle of patience, perseverance and hard work...

I know loads of people who studied French in school, went on foreign exchange programs to French speaking countries yet couldn't make a very reasonable score just few were able to do really well. Language is not something you rush to learn..its not like history you can cram and pour. Is it possible to learn even a Nigerian language in 3 months and excel in speaking , reading ,writing and listening? Let's be realistic.

Sorry it might sound harsh ooo but its the honest truth and we all need to take note of such rush rush approach. This process is not easy like that..May God help us all to make the best decisions that will save us time and money.

m in the same shoes with you mahn. But my application hasn’t been updated with ‘counterfoil’. Not even sure I know what that means.

Even tried to reach IRCC but theyve come back to say they’re still processing my application so I guess we just have to wait and hope vfs opens up quick

Me too I'm on the verge of learning french and writing TEF, Give TEF 8 to 12 months before writing the exam cos French is not an easy language but is do-able.

All french schools are closed for due to issues on the ground, you can be learning from YOUTUBE whilst the dust is clear

Hello, how long ago did you use IQAS? Do you have trouble updating your information? I went to send my documents today, and tried logging in to get my reference number from my profile but I couldn't see any number, neither could I update information on my profile. Not even the mailing address did I manage to update.

I don't know if it's because I created the account in November and never sent the documents. They had halted the process then.

I remember sending a form to my school to fill, it must have had a reference number I guess, I can't be sure.

Will there be a problem because I didn't put the IQAS reference number on the DHL details?
so on Iqas website ,their is an info that says u can submit online from after November 5,2019 instead of courier . Has anyone initiated Iqas process recently ? If so ,do you still need to courier your documents or submit online ?

What did you write as the certification name for the diploma when you were registering for WES and what year was your diploma. I did the same thing and I got only a BSc that’s why I am asking.

I wrote it as Foundation programme. I got my diploma in 2011.

A friend in my set also got her's as bsc only. She had to mail them for re-evaluation when she saw mine. I don't know the process she went through though.

Don't target 8777, target higher scores. IELTS can also contribute to your CRS score. As for french, except you know french a little, it's hard to learn and sit for the exams in 3months.

Go to IRCC website. The format is there. When you go to the bank to make a request, you are expected to know what you want to avoid stories that touch.

Hi friends,

I've got a question begging for answer for quite a while. I heard IELTS is easier to pass in Dubai. Can I go to Dubai to write IELTS and come back to naija to apply for permanent resident?
Hi. This notion of IELTS being easy in one country to another might not be true. For instance, the reading and listening is standard. It is either right or wrong. So it leaves us with writing and speaking. Although the marking of this component of the test is subjective but there is sure a guideline they follow. Reason why there is EOR when one feels they deserve better than they have gotten. According to their policy, it is senior examiners that handle the EOR. So one can say it is fair to a large extent.

And on you going to Dubai to take the test, I wouldn't encourage that especially when the aim of your trip to Dubai is just for the test. It is not necessary. Just a waste of resources. I did my IELTS in Europe. Took a few attempts before I got the needed score. At a point I was thinking it would be easier for me to pass it in Nigeria. I started contemplating if I should travel to Naija to take the test. But after critical evaluation, I realized that wasn't the solution given the economics. To cut the long story short, I did pass the test in Europe. I sat with a native speaker of the language and had 8.5 in speaking. So what the hell! My previous attempt (academic) in 2016 in Naija was a 6.5 in speaking.

That said, what aspect of the test are you struggling with? What you need is the right formula. Especially in the writing part of the test. There are couple of resources out there that would help you understand the tricks on writing and speaking. Ieltsliz is one, E2 language by Jay is another. There is also a WhatsApp group by some gracious nairalanders here that delivers free writing tutorials. I will implore you to avail yourself the use of the latter as they review your writings and give feedback. The feedback is very good. It helps you understand where you are struggling or mixing things up.

Without understanding what your weaknesses are, it won't make any difference even if you go take the test in Mars of Jupiter. Lol. Cheers.
