Sorry for taking you back.. are u referring to course based or Research ased.. bcz the stuff is quite different with MUN

Master of Applied Science (MASc) is a course based program in MUN, whilst the Master of Engineering program (MEng) is a research based in MUN. This is entirely an opposite to other tertiary institutions in Canada.

I hope this information helps.

Hi Frank.. Seems MUN degree description is opposite of others, MASc there is course based.
My question is can one further studies with it or it is terminal like MEng in other schools??

MASc is a course based option in MUN. You can't further with it. Many course based Master’s degrees are not designed with doctoral study in mind, and therefore don’t offer certain training crucial for PhD students.

Good evening gurus in the house
From the advice received from @Frankrobbn1 and, @JustMellow

In my sop, I stated that most of my salary (80%) is invested in my home country (land, shares and mutual funds) with proof because I am not from this country (I attached documents for the land and shares in Nigeria).

I am the main sponsor of my wife now and my sister is the co-sponsor. (My sister is transferring $10,000 (CAD$13,000) to my account here).
In my sop, I wrote that my sister is the custodian of my movable properties and sole financial representative in Nigeria. I attached proof of some receipts of transfer of money from me here to her account in Nigeria. I also attached two land documents in Nigeria (Abuja and Lagos) that I claimed she bought for me and an inherited land document from my father (dead) in Lekki. In the sop I said that in African tradition as the eldest in my family I inherited the land.

Because the money from Nigeria is bulk money deposited in the account. I said it is part of my father’s inheritance savings from Nigeria. (I am applying in 2 weeks’ time) No time for Fixed Deposit or Treasury bill.

Or should I write that the money is from the sale of one of my land, by my sister in Nigeria.

Please is it a good idea? If not please advise……
Gurus in the house please help help help

I think it makes more sense if you say the funds comes from the sale of one of your land, by your sister in Nigeria. Having said that, you need to provide valid and verifiable evidence of this property and written agreement between you and the buyer. The document must be firmly attested and notarized by a licensed attorney in Nigeria. Aside the $13,000CAD that your sister will be transferring to your account, hope there have been history of steady inflow and outflow of cash in your bank statement in the past 6 months?. It will be a red flag if this is the only money that has reflected in your account statement recently. Also take note of your financial history so you don't end up shooting yourself in the foot.

Good morning house, pls I need to find out if it is possible for me to go for medical after my application for student visa in May. Am asking because I called one of the medical centers in lagos Island and the customer service person that attended to me said I can't come for medicals after applying except I get a form or go ahead from then. Please and please what do you guys advise? Thanks.

No need to rush, wait for IRCC to request for the medical exam from you. At least, this shows that your application is progressing and a positive decision is soon to be made on your application.

Keep the faith alive and hope for the best.

How will I do it?

Why College of North Atlantic? Is it because its tuition is relatively cheaper in comparison with most colleges in Canada and/or the ability to secure a Permanent Resident of Canada is way more easier in the Atlantic province of Newfoundland? Please be sure you're applying for the accurate level of education as majority of the programs offered in this school are predominantly in the Post Secondary Diploma level. It's not all about getting admission into a DLI in Canada, albeit its convincing the visa officer that you're indeed a bonafide student to study an ordinary diploma in Canada, given that there are similar available courses which are obtainable in Nigeria at a low cost.

I hope you check properly so you don't end up investing so much on a project that will not heed positive outcome. I have saved several applicants from the misinformation in course selections, and I trust you will not be an exception too.

Yes. In fact the reason for denial was just generally that the VO felt I lack enough funds. It was when I got GCMS notes that I saw the main problem was that there was no evidence that the sponsor had control of the corporate account used.
If you can get a letter from your bank attesting that you are the sole signatory of your corporate account like someone else suggested I think it will cover you.

Alright great. That certainly means you’ll get your visa the next time you apply if you can satisfy this query properly. All the best.

Good morning peeps,

Thank you all for your support and honest feedback. I really appreciate everyone for the good work you are all doing.

I need help with this question.

Do your sponsor need to provide their own employment letter and the payslips (especially if the person is your spouse)? Also how do i get sponsorhip declaration form?

If I am the main sponsor and my spouse is supporting, i guess he should be the co-sponsor and is required to complete the sponsorship declaration form

Thank you

Thanks @Frankrobbn1 for the advice.

The account she is sending the money into, is my salary account here. There is a steady inflow and outflow of cash into this bank account. The account has more than 10 years of inflow and outflow cash history.

In my sop, I wrote that my sister is the custodian of my movable properties and sole financial representative in Nigeria. I attached proofs of some receipts of transfer of money from me here to her account in Nigeria.

So I can now say that the funds come from the sale of one of my land.
Thanks for the advice.

@Frankrobbn1 Please what do you think about this? Does this have any negative impression from your own view?

Before now, I wrote that since she is the custodian of my movable properties and sole financial representative in Nigeria that I just recalled some of my cash with her $13,000CAD (which she sent to my account)

Congratulations on getting a job before hand.. Which school and course of study?

If possible, leave your family behind and apply alone using them as home tie. Then when you get ur permit, u can invite them over.. I think it's a better approach so you don't end up getting denied especially as you'll be studying for free

Wunaarroon69:
This is a tough one.
Leaving the child in Nigeria will not be ideal at such age and would not really prove home ties. The VO will imagine why a nursing mum will want to leave her child to study in Canada.

Then again applying with the child will also make the VO ponder why a nursing mum will want to study immediately than wait till the child it’s at least a year or two. More like what’s the rush to study... when the mum can wait till the baby is a bit matured, if you get what I mean?

But I guess the gurus can advise better

Hello Wunaarroon69,

IN CONTRIBUTION, what if this becomes an advantage to take advantage of her advantage by turning it the other way round like giving reasons similar to the below stated:

"...I would certainly have deferred my admission to a possible near future post-parturition but its been 6 months passed and I am hale, so also is the baby, Osaro. With thorough assessment and consent of all-clear from our family doctor, I can go on with my daily routines responsively. There is never a right time to begin a thing but however, the delay might be catastrophe. That's why I intend to utilize this opportunity to acquire a Postgraduate Diploma in Plant Science since this period coincides with my maternity leave approved by my employer, Osasco Osazee Plc.

My spouse has been supportive and knowing how important this study is to me, he shared the news of his consent to embark on my study journey to Canada as well as with our lovely daughter during our pleasure time. I can't imagine how happy a moment could have been hearing this from my spouse. The dream became clear that I will one day become a Plant Scientist working with a government parastatal in Nigeria after my studies..."

However, an infant child won't be used as leverage by the VO to refuse a nursing mother's application if she meets the requirements. In the present reality, there isn't really time and no right time. Two years wait may seem like eternity especially when the baby becomes more happy sitting.

Thompson Rivers, Data Science. I don't intend to leave them. Actually prefer to stay back to going alone.
But people do say it is possible to travel with family.
The study is not free, as I will pay $35,700 for d whole program while getting $42,000 for two years from a research grant.

Hello Gugu40,

She you are using her as your sole custodian in Nigeria, you should show a "Power of Attorney" as evidence to this claim.

Selling of a property to show source of funds isn't a bad idea or you can get her to write a letter to the effect of the source of funds and lumpsum deposit. Some sensitive terms relevant to your application should be contained in the Power of Attorney i.e. recognizing/assenting that her account (name and number) should be the sole receiving account that operates financially on your behalf). This way, this serves both a legal and formal reason why she is sending such lump sum and proving the source of the funds at the same time.

As earlier said, a concise letter should be included point the attention of the VO to the Power of Attorney were the valid facts lies. You just have to be soft with words and carry the VO along.

Good Morning house . Please I need your help, I got Masters Admission offer for Fall term September 2020 but I am worried that the time left might not suffice for Visa processing, if the embassy comes with their decision after the resumption date, and let’s assume it’s not a denial, what will likely happen ?

Kamsiroyce:
Please Gurus in the house Iam interested in the answer to this question. Very much like my case. Thank you all

Hello there,

There is still time to put in application against Fall. The current PT is 7 wks. Depending on the DLI, some give an extension of up to 1 month and it as well depend on the Department. If peradventure the SP was granted within the first two weeks and I reiterate again that being able to resume depends on the department and the conviction of being able to catch up. However, if it comes quite too late, the best option is deferring and prepare ahead.
