I haven’t been to Panama but I’ve been to Israel and Israel is one of the worst places you can be as a black person. The racism there is beyond disgusting and they don’t hide it. Get ready to be held at the airport for 12 hours of questioning, without food.

In fact, some of the treatment meted out to our people in some of these countries is because of our involvement in nefarious activities. Recently some of our folks in Istanbul committed fraud, and because of that a bank in Turkey banned all Nigerians from using their online banking system. I hope you are not referring to racism, cos i'll take the racism in Turkey over most of these other countries especially the US.

I’ve been to both countries and my experience is that they’re equally bad for Black people (Africans). Most of the Nigerians who seem to be successful in Turkey are internet fraudsters. Otherwise, there is great suffering and discrimination in Turkey.
The working conditions are basically modern day slavery. Some Nigerians can’t even leave Turkey or return to Nigeria because they overstayed their visas and would be arrested and fined if they’re caught.

They do the shittiest jobs and get treated very badly. They can’t even marry for document. Infact, you could be attacked for trying to date a Turkish girl. Yes, a lot of it stems from the bad impression Nigerians have made but most of it is just pure hate and racism. Even their police hate us more.

I’ve been trying to get my best friend out of Turkey for about a year now and we’re still on it. I warned him before he went there but he didn’t listen. Now he’s suffering so much and would do anything to return to Nigeria. I’ve visited him a few times.
I had even arranged to get veneers in Turkey because of the cheap medical service. Seeing how they treat Black people, I cancelled my appointment and vowed to never put my money in their economy.

That being said, it is the same in Israel. You saying you’d rather experience racism in Turkey than in US, I hope that was sarcasm. People in the US have rights and constitutional laws that can protect people of color from racial injustice. What rights do you have in Turkey as an African man? Even Turkish nationals are afraid of their government. You should read more.

I can't talk about Isreal, but I can talk about Turkey, cos i live there. Most Nigerians working here don't have work permits, unfortunately. Those that are into English don't even have teaching certification. Every businessman is looking to make the most profit. So, if you wanna work for my language school, how about I pay you less. If you want to get paid the standard go get an English language degree or the teaching certificate. Turkey wasn't built to accommodate foreigners. They provide jobs to employ their own citizens, which is obvious from the fact that the government-the biggest employer- only employs Turkish citizens. And that's fine, your people should always come first. Employment is largely limited by the language. They are not as highly industrialized as the US-not even close at all- so there's little diversity in the kind of opportunities available to foreigners. If I was not in an academic setting I would probably be doing one of those odd jobs myself. Do you want them to give you their jobs at the expense of their people? I am sometimes amazed by the fact they are not quite belligerent given the influx of Syrian refugees, who according to them are receiving a lot of incentives from the government at their expense. If there's animosity on such grounds I won't blame them, but I would prefer that it is directed at their leaders, but if you believe your leaders are not listening to you, your feelings will definitely develop to hatred. They have only been opening their doors for over 2 decades or so, particularly to Somalis and Syrian refugees. For one where did, you reside in Turkey? Be smart and well-grounded on your assertions and comparisons. Why would you overstay your visa in another country? I understand that survival sometimes brings us to that point, but it's still unacceptable, and whatever comes of it when you are caught accept it. You can only hope you don't get caught. Besides some of our people overstay and indulge in nefarious activities-Istanbul especially-so what do you expect? What the heck do you mean by rights? Isn't it illegal to overstay your visa? In Yoruba, we will say "Oun ti oju e bari ni be fara mo". Sorry if you don't understand, it's just quite suitable here. I understand you feel for your friend, but I wouldn't even be sure your friend is not at fault unless I hear his side of the story. And by the way, what you have described so far doesn't count as racism. You are being more emotional than rational, and that's always a problem when you wanna decide if a decision is reasonable. There've been numerous other cases, and you don't have to go that far down memory lane to dig them out. This is in a country that supposedly protects the rights of its people, not to talk of foreigners. As far as I am concerned, on the issue of racism, Turkey is not comparable to the US. I interact with Turks, so I don't necessarily have to go and find the information online which could be incorrect to different degrees, and the people publishing them could very well have ulterior motives other than publishing the news. You claim the people are afraid of their government but he has been re-elected at least 3 times. I don't know how that happens if the majority of the people do not want him there. According to those who don't support the government, they want a more liberal system-more western, at least that's the face of their argument. This is very well their right. They can only hope enough people join their camp, so they get want they want. As far as governance is concerned the opinion of the majority is correct until they are no longer the majority, whether they are uneducated or not. You can only hope somehow they get that education and see your light. But your light may not be correct, even if you have had a formal education, or you think you have.

Speaking to them and seeing how they treat Black people also tells me a lot about their country. They even hold protests here against their Turkish government and call their president a tyrant. That is to answer your question about why he’s still in power.

Edit: I just looked up racism in Germany now, and there was a report by Al Jazeera that a german, with white supremacist motivations, went into two shisha joints, killed nine and injured 5(Hanau Murders). There's even an anti-Muslim party (AfD). There also cases of housing services not wanting to rent their houses to people that are not ethnic germans.

Panama is far better than Israel. Israel is a racist country and one of the worst place any black persons can go. I even heard from a friend recently that they are injecting the blacks there with drugs so they won’t be able to have children.
Panama is one of the best countries since the Panama Canal or River is the biggest and busiest road between America and the entire world. The only challenge is the language barrier, so you have to learn to speak Spanish.
Please and please avoid Israel, they hate blacks with passion and there is nothing like hustling over there. If you doubt me, ask our well traveled Ibo brothers, no one ever goes to Israel to hustle. You even have better chances in the Islamic Republic of Saudi Arabia.
