God is great! I am super excited to hear your scholarship was reinstated by USASK after your visa refusal. As for me, I am doing great and had to switch my immigration path to AIPP (Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program) as I was fortunate to receive a job offer from a Canadian employer. I have completed the entire phase of the program including receiving my Provincial Endorsement/Nomination Certificate from the Newfoundland Government and signing written contracts with my employer. The current COVID-19 global pandemic has dispruted so many plans/activities including pending applications with IRCC. Therefore, I'm earnestly hoping and waiting to receive my Permanent Resident approval soonest. While waiting for the process to be completed, I do come around here during my leisure period to contribute my quota and continue making a remarkable impact in the lives of others considering that I have first hand experience about the process.

Thanks once again for checking up on this thread, we have indeed shared tremendous knowledge and insightful experiences on this platform overtime. I hope to see you return here to continue doing what you know how to do best.

Stay safe (Attorney General).

As always, it will end in praise.

Until then, I await your victory song.

Pls are you currently with the University of Alberta?

Don't be scared bro. I felt scared too. The truth is that these things appear tougher than they are. Don't be discouraged. I advise you to apply for as many scholarships as possible. Regardless of how difficult or competitive they are, many Nigerians have won them. I know a Nigerian PhD student who won the Vanier scholarship of over C$50,000 per year. He's at the University of Alberta. He didn't even make a first class. He was lucky and had a good proposal. If he can do it, you can too. Just be positive and make sure you have all the minimum requirements.

May the odds be in your favour.

Good evening everyone, I am enquiry on behalf of my brother.
Please advice on the best route to Canada, if express entry can work.

So my brother is 39yrs old, he's doing very well.

He's got about two businesses, works in the port clearing vessels and makes very good money month. However his qualification is SSCE. Should he go through express entry or study visa?

He's interested in immigrating to Canada with his wife and kids and our cousin.
If it's the money to show proof of funds he has enough to show with proof to his sources of income.

Please what's your best bet?
Thanks alot

Hello NairaLuck,

Irrespective of the age, he can still qualify for EE under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, Northern and Rural Atlantic Immigration Program etc. There are about 80 economic-class immigration programs in Canada under the Provincial/Territory (P/T) and Federal initiative programs. Some of the Atlantic programs like those mentioned above requires no work experience and just high school certificate for the educational qualification requirements.

The IELTS test score is at overall 4 or 5 for either NOC 0, A, B, C for the AIPP. In PEI PNP and AIPP, the government are intending to place priority in nominating and selecting Truck Drivers which falls in NOC C. One of the requirement is also to secure a job offer from an employer who is a participant and registered member of the program.

Being 39 years old doesn't quantitate that he isn't or doesn't qualify for EE especially if he meets other requirements and the other optional requirements to boost his CRS score. Ergo, he will be expected to max out IELTS score and try to attain CLB 10. There are overage appliicants who still take the EE route and still succeed by finding other ways to boost their CRS score.

He could also give the Study route a try since the means and requirements to achieve its end is literally available and ready. Immigration generally is dependent on luck and interested candidates must try their luck to know if it will shine. This is the realistic definition of Try Your Luck where one is expected to gamble with the intending Future.

Can someone please advise;

I graduated with Bsc. Chemistry in 2012 in Nigeria and I've been working as Retail Store Manager and a part time realtor for a credible company for about 6 years now. I got an admission for a PGD in Project Management in Ontario, what are my odds securing a student permit?

Also, as a result of COVID19 situation, how are applications been submitted in Lagos? Is the VSF in Lagos taking Canadian study permit applications?

Can an expert help please, thanks in Advance. Cheers!

Good evening all, I just checked my school website cause I saw some persons complaining of Flywire. When I check they were charging N559,000 then I checked the other options cause they're three options for international students to pay. CIBC charged 448,000 which is just 10,000 addition less their charge of 12,590.
So with CIBC everything is N448,000 but Flywire is N559,000.

I think for those having issues with Flywire conversion, you can check if your school has other options to save cost.

Good evening everyone,

Hope you are good?

I got an admission into Thompson Rivers University for a Post Baccalaureate diploma in Finance.

There is “Not Visa Purpose” written on the Conditional Acceptance Letter issued to me and that I will be issued with an Unconditional Acceptance Letter once I pay my fees (both Tuition and other fees).

My question is can I use such Conditional acceptance letter for study permit application processing?

In a situation like this, you're ought to pay the mandatory tuition deposit to the school prior to an unconditional acceptance will be issued. I wouldn't advise you to apply for a study visa with such conditional offer being that it has to do with funds and the primary requirements for a Canada Study Visa application is the ability to show that you have adequate financial resources to cover for your tuition and living expenses without working to pay for your fees. In consideration of the foregoing, it's better you pay the mandatory fees and apply with an unconditional offer.

Wow, that's really good. You should be proud of yourself considering that you competed with many people from around the world and within Canada for that position. People living in the Atlantic provinces struggle to get those AIPP jobs. I lived in NL for years and I don't even know how to help people from Nigeria and other provinces, except NL residents.
Good job man!

@Frankrobbn1

No apologies necessary for giving a detailed explanation of your profile.

From all what you have said, the onus is on you to convince the visa officer that you're in fact a bonafide student and if given a visa would study and depart from Canada after studies.

There is nothing unachievable when it comes to Canadian immigration. I have seen a matured applicant at the age of 51 in 2017 without any prior post secondary education and was approved of his visa to pursue a diploma program. Hence, getting an approval is also possible in your case once you can present your situation in a very justifiable manner yet professional way that would enable the visa officer see reasons about your clear intent to study and consequently grant you an entry to pursue your intended program in Canada.

Your SOP should do justice to the above points which you have raised in this post that hindered you from pursuing a post secondary education in Nigeria since you left High School in 2012. A written assurance that your study gaps in no way will affect your ability to study and graduate at the top of class. In order for your application to scale through and have a better prospect, I would advise that every statements in your SOP should be accompanied with an encyclopedia of evidence (proof of professional certifications in bakery, proof of previous work experiences and registered business to show you have acquired a practical experience in your intended program in the job market etc.).

Your explanation should be straight to the point, give clear answers about your situation and assemble a solid case by exposing your motives in a Humanitarian and Compassionate package to be reviewed by the immigration authorities at the Canadian embassy. You shouldn't sound too desperate to study in Canada, try as much as you can to explain to the visa officer the lucrativness and reasonableness of undertaking the program in Canada at a huge cost given that there are similar available options in Nigeria.

Lastly, your short and long term goals should be properly prepared in a very realistic way. More importantly, get a professional to review this letter in order to be sure you've adequately addressed every loopholes in the application.

Thanks for the compliments about me and I hope you utilize the advices given.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns about the subject matter, don't hesitate to reach out for professional assistance.

Good evening house and thanks to everyone rendering selfless effort as regards clarity and guidance to this study permit journey.. Kudos to you all.

I am days away to submitting my application and I need help to the following questions.

Going through the IMM1294 Form( Application for study permit outside canada), there is a column I'm to fill in my tuition , room and boards and others to sum up the total funds available. In all sincerity, the issue now is all i have is my exact tuition fee and living expenses(10kcad) in my sponsor's account. nothing more.. Would it fly?

Secondly,  $750 medical insurance was included in my letter of acceptance apart from the tuition fee. Should I total it all with my tuition or I should just fill in the tuition stated on the letter.

Lastly, I have an IELTS test report(General) I sat for in 2018 and considering also using it as a supporting document. Am I making a mistake or I should go ahead with uploading.

Thanks as I await your responses..

You only overstayed your VISA to UAE which you eventually got renewed. Dubai is not considered as a good travel history in the Canadian Immigration officer's assessment. You don't need to provide proof that you paid any fine as you might be complicating things for yourself in your application. A scanned copy of your previous visas to the country and other countries will be fine. Also be truthful as possible in your application by mentioning all the visa refusals you had in any country.

SKEPTA:

Hello gurus in the house,
I have a few questions about my application
1.Do I state the list of documents that I put in my application at the last page of my SOP
2.Do I have to add my academic awards gotten in university and online courses certificate to my application?
3)How do I go about uploading documents and submitting application on the ircc portal?

1. It's not compulsory to mention the list of documents you will be submitting with your application in the last page of your SOP.

2. Please include every professional certifications and volunteer awards you have gotten during your undergraduate studies and until this present time. It will demonstrate how prepared you're for your proposed program in Canada.

3. DETAILED LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR STUDY VISA AND THEIR APPROPRIATE CATEGORIES FOR UPLOAD.

WES course-by-course evaluation analysis is a compulsory requirement for a Master's Admission at University of Regina. You're urged to get it ready before starting an application for admission into the School.
