Meanwhile, this is a typical thing with respect to lands in Accra. If you buy or lease land in Accra, if you do not develop the land, even within the period of ownership, these so-called landowners would resell the undeveloped part of the land to somebody else.
Ghana land issues.... hmm

Unless Government repossesses all land, it is not going to end anytime soon.
To be able to do that, this current constitution will have to be thrown away.

We'll have to wait for the governments report on the matter to be sure of what actually happened, cos this not far from what the landowners in Accra can do with respect to lands. Even if you have acquired a land legally, they can resell it to other individuals if you do not develop it. And they come once or twice a year harassing people and telling you to give them some money, even though you own the land legally. This is perpetrated by the youths sometimes with the consent of their Mantses(chief).
ajl:

Address the point. The land is not part of Nigeria High Commission. And what is being constructed on the land is an event centre. Is Nigerian commission in Ghana now a money making event centre. The point here is that Nigerian businessman is working in connivance with the high commission to use the land for what it is not meant for and probably encroaching on land that does not belong to the commission. This is not Lagos or Abuja where powerful people just wake up one day to take over land illegally. As usual, someone is exporting bad behaviour.

That's gonna hit the Ga community bad, man. grin. That's how these people survive. That would literally mean taking everything away from them. I don't think the government would want to do something like that without compensating them. If they can that would minimize the land sale problems.

The government will even be doing everyone a favour including the GA community
which will save the chiefs from the numerous land litigation cases they are involved in at the High Court

I live in ghana and I know exactly how you people behave. You project yourself to international communities to be good to collect aids but inward. You are spoiled apple.

The embassy is well fenced long time ago. Even if it is illegally acquired, don't you have court? Why did you show up in the middle of the night if you are not criminals.

True, but the harrassment may continue regardless. Disgruntled unemployed youths organizing themselves in cohorts will still harass people demanding for money. As a foreigner beset by paranoia and considering these people are in groups, you may just part with some money, to prevent the damage of your properties. I mean if you report the matter to the police and the police come over to investigate the matter 24 hours, grin, how will they find the people who damaged your property?

[Have you finish quote author=topboss post=90975539]THE GOOD PEOPLE OF NIGERIA EXPECT THIS WARRANT CHIEF TO BE ARRESTED AS PARTY TO THE UNLAWFUL DEMOLITION OF PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE NIGERIAN HIGH COMMISSION IN GHANA.

GHANA IS A COUNTRY OF LAW AND ORDER AS THEY SAY, SO UNLAWFUL DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES WITHOUT ADHERENCE TO DUE ROCESS OR RULE OF LAW SHOULD ATTRACT PENALTY.

XENOPHOBIA IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO COMMIT CRIME.

U CANNOT TAKE THE LAW INTO YOUR HANDS AND USE THE NATIONALITY OF THE OTHER PARTY AS JUSTIFICATION FOR YOUR CRIME.

IF WE ALLOW THIS, TOMORROW THEY WILL KILL A HUMAN BEING AND SAY IT IS NIGERIAN.

GHANIANS ARE CRIMINALLY MINDED PEOPLE, THEY RENT SHOP AND SELL LAND TO NIGERIANS AND THEN GO BACK TO TAKE IT, SAYING THE PEOPLE ARE NIGERIANS, AFTER COLLECTING MONEY.

THEY WILL NEVER REFUND THE MONEY THEY COLLECTED AND INFACT, YOUR GOODS IN THE SHOP WILL BE LOCKED AND THEY EXPECT U TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY.

THIS IS CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR.[/quote]

Respect goes both ways, if Nigerians want to be respected and treated as such they should accord the same respect and decorum. You call Ghana rotten apple but expect Ghana and Ghanaian to treat you with civility ?!

While some of them are good to me and in general

Some are just retarded...

Especially when it comes to Nigeria and Nigerians

Some of them have issues

Ghanaians have never love Nigeria and Nigerians
They dislike us and they dont hide it atall.
We are talking about racism against the blacks by the whites.
The racism in Africa continent, is far greater. If you meet a Ghanaian at work , among the whites, the Ghanaian will join the whites to bully you
They are not loving atall, sorry, I'm not been stereotype here, they are hostile in nature.

yea that is what they are. Even if you are being chased by American soldiers and you manage enter inside any embassy. The American soldiers will pull back and seek for clarification or diplomatic solution and not to carry guns and bulldozer to bulldoze the embassy of another country. Is a high time ghana realized that every country is under international law.

You ask why the property was demolished in the night

The answer to that is, According to the road safety regulation
Long vehicles, earth moving equipment, long trucks and certain equipment cannot be to and from that particular area of Accra unless after 10 pm.

There are also regulation on what time that equipment can be transported on Highways in Ghana.

Do Nigerian/Nigerians love Ghana ? Why is it that we feature eachother m in our films, movies etc?

Ghana/Nigeria relationship goes back centuries. In fact the chief who went to demolish the building is himself a Ga who have direct roots in Nigeria.

Several Ghanaians are married to Nigerian in both countries and in the diaspora. Don’t be fooled by arm-chair warriors. Our two countries are more intertwined than you think.

ivory coast did more than that before to ghana and nigeria. You can not move from one place to another without the" passe ".without being harassed by the police. until they did election and table turned within one week the Street of Abijan was littered with dead bodies. It was still the same ghana and nigeria who went to save them. the way the Ghanaians hate themselves between the Ashanties to Volta to north is too much. Ghana can explode at anytime.

Ghanaians do not hate themselves

We tease each other with our differences and marvel at how much we share in common.

If Ghana will explode, it will not be because of ethnic stuffs.

and my comment above has nothing to do with Lasse Passe in Ivory Coast

My statement does not have dishonesty in it.

Pick a day, go and observe that area
You won't find any heavy-duty car driving in that area until night.

The duty of the Police does not include supervision of demolitions unless
1. Order by a court to be present.
2. Requested by the one going to do the demolitions in order to ensure Law and Order, in accordance with how police detail are given.
