There are lots of courses you can study as an English Language Graduate from media, Marketing, education to linguistics.

As for foreign Language courses you might be interviewed or your experience might be required.

Hello.thanks to all the contributors.
I am new to this thread and I have been reading.
However,I have some questions
1.Does any course matter as regards getting a job and probably staying back permanently after schooling( is staying back after school legal )
1b)Are there specific courses that gets you a job( faster)
2. Can anyone go for nursing regardless of your no experience in science subjects.
3.Do I have to apply for my child who is an American citizen (since it’s visa free for Americans
4. Can my husband sponsor me?
5.Apart from London? What cities are ok to raise a child?
6. Which cities are affordable to live?
Thank you all

1. If you can get an employer in your course field that will employ you, you’re good. Do not just study any course so you don’t get burnt out in a short time. Jobs in healthcare, social work, IT.
Asides from jobs in the listed areas, if you know your onions, understand the UK job market, strategize and start preparing for your job hunt way before you finish your course, you can get a job “fast”. Jobs don’t always come on a platter of gold for international students but it isn’t impossible for you to get one.
2. To study nursing, you need to have an understanding of science and maths and/or experience depending on the level of study. There are pre-registration nursing MSc courses you can do to get into nursing though. Those in nursing will be able to give more details on this when they come online.
3. It is only visa-free for Americans for up to 6 months to visit, not to live. You’d need to apply for a T4 dependant visa for your child to enable him/her live with you in the UK during your studies.
4. No, he can’t officially sponsor you but he can deposit/transfer the money for your UK studies into your account.
5. Based on my own preference and experience, Wales, Hertfordshire, Glasgow, Kent, Birmingham. Based on general opinion, the list is inexhaustive.
6. Affordable is relative. Many cities outside London are affordable but then it depends on what areas of the cities and the kinds of accommodation that you want.

I was delighted when mimilyrics returned from her Nairaland ‘sabbatical’.
This is the reason.
She dots the I’s and crosses the T’s.
It’s either she ‘jumps & pass’ or she provides answers.
If she decides to provide answer, she researches Merriam Webster, Encyclopaedia Brittanica, Oxford advanced learners dictionary. She adds that up with Google Scholar (not to be confused with the usual google). She seeks for solutions from only peer-reviewed papers in internationally-renowned journals.

Then she provides comprehensive answer.
All this, for £0.0000

Girl, you rock!

Well done

Most likely before you get your offer letter. Have you made your application to any UNI yet ?

Thanks for your prompt response.

I have not yet made application to any university but Intend to apply to BCU (Jan intake)

The agent who I plan on using asked for two reference letters, one from my employer and one from a lecturer and was wondering if the two reference letters could be gotten from two different lecturers as opposed to an employer and a lecturer.

I got mine from my lecturers. No big deal. Why are you even using an agent?

As others have said, please do yourself a favour and get rid of the agent.

It’s a pretty straightforward process and if you have all your documents, you could be sitting on a couple of offers before the end of the month.

Read through this forum and pretty much all your questions would be answered.

We should focus on the reference letter instead of the agent.

Explain to him about the reference letter and move on. The agent shouldn't be your problem.

Please I need help. When filling the visa application for married applicants, is there a place to fill number of children? Will need to provide their birth certificates? Secondly, I have a little girl who stays with me, and I want to add her to my kids. She answers a different surname. What do I need to do in this regard?

Portsmouth is a lively city, it’s a proper student city with a lot of activities, the location of the school is perfect as it gives you access to train and bus transport routes to London and other part of the U.K.

The school is highly rated , good facilities and It has huge amount of international students. Students get free University bus ride though living closer to the university is a lot better but it comes at a cost. Portsmouth is not that cheap but affordable.

Job wise Portsmouth has a lot of student jobs either within the university or outside.

You will enjoy that city more if you have the money and not spend all your time working and socialise.
