Access Bank To Refund Stamp Duty Deductions by Ravon(op): 7:11pm On Jun 28, 2020
Access Bank on Sunday said it will refund its stamp duty deductions made from the account of its aggrieved customers after a social media outcry on Saturday.

Stamp duty deductions apply to all credit received into current and savings accounts in respect to electronic transfer and teller deposits of N10, 000 and above. The money is remitted to the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Brand Spur Nigeria learnt that Access Bank Nigeria has also promised to revert deductions made between Saturday and Sunday back to customers.

According to a statement made on Sunday, the bank said it recognized that it is a tough period for customers.

Reacting to customers’ reactions over the usual deductions, Acess Bank said,

“We have considered your feedback and have decided to pay the stamp duty on our customers’ behalf for the affected period only,”.
“This means that individuals and SMEs who were debited for the accumulated stamp duty charge for February to April 2020 will be refunded.”

In an earlier statement, the bank had notified customers that it did not deduct stamp duty charges on transactions that occurred between February 1, 2020, and April 30, 2020.

Due to this stamp duty charge issue many people have decided to leave. I left the bank when still answering diamond bank and that was the best decision I made. It's left to them make banking with clients less stressful for those that decide to stay.

Nigerian Banks are Fraud...quick to deduct money from customers account, but never quick to report deposits over the limits to CBN despite all the notices they display at their front counter about deposits over limits.

I NEED A VERY GOOD WRITER.

I HAVE ADVERTISED FOR WRITERS SEVERALLY ON THIS FORUM, BUT ALL I'VE BEEN GETTING ARE PEOPLE WHO I HAVE TO EDIT AND REWRITE THEIR WORK. I AM TIRED OF DOING THAT. I NEED REAL WRITERS.

I DON'T NEED AN ARTICLE WRITER, BUT SOMEONE WHO CAN WRITE ON ANYTHING.

It has created enmity between friends
It has caused downfalls and even death.
The above are true, but for every 'one' bad thing it does or causes, there are thousands of 'good' things it has created or aided. The Power Of Social Media cool cool
