What then are they looking for when you appear before them as a student on your appointment day?

Canada does not do physical visa interviews

Which school are you applying to? Is WES ICAP course by course evaluation a requirement?
Which document is WES requesting you to upload? You can mail them to clarify this for you. To the best of my knowledge, once they have evaluated for you before, they will request for the recipient's details, not to upload another document.
Your best bet is to contact WES and ask them.

Thank u, it’s the sch that wants me to upload my transcript. And for now school in Nigeria are closed, so I can’t get it agn, my best bet is to use the one with WES. I guess I will contact the sch.

Contact the school admission office and copy the program. Some programs are accepting anything you can submit for now, including student copy transcript. They know it will be your loss, if you lie now, because your admission and even enrollment will be tentative. They know COVID-19 will go and until you submit those original copies, you will not graduate. So, contact your prospective program. They may offer you more support than you expect.

it is not necessarily compulsory to pay your tuition fee , since you have paid the school deposit you can use that to apply for your visa

On the other hand find out your schools return fee policy if you wish to pay your fees , this also shows you are financially capable

PS: payment of tuition fees doesn’t guarantee you the visa just enables the VO knows you are financial bouyant

You don't appear in front of any VO. You get your documents together and submit either online or physically. Click this link and read up the basics

Hello, please when did you apply? Also, did anything change in the Eligibility part of your application?

@Everyone, are there people who did upfront medicals, have medicals passed and still got rejected at the end of the day?

Or they got rejected without their up-front medicals being updated?

Thank you all for your responses.

It appears that IRCC is lowkey processing online applications pending Biometrics submission.

I read from someone in another forum that got his Medical updated to Pass, while still waiting for VFS to open to submit biometrics. Not a Nigerian though.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Guys! Don't feel super excited about the recent update. Please be advised that there are various stages every application undergoes once they have been received by IRCC. The R10 check is the first step - it is at this stage the immigration case analyst goes through the entire supporting documents including the IMM forms to be sure the applicant properly filled the forms accurately and afterwards they move on to initiate a request for biometrics. The Immigration Case Analyst is responsible for updating of medical records while the main immigration officer (VO) waits for your biometrics details to be received prior to start processing the application proper.

Biometrics is a very important and plays a pivotal part in the Canadian immigration policy. Also, without Biometrics the CBSA can't process/carry out background checks on applicant.

I hope this information is helpful to everyone waiting to undergo their biometrics.

It will end in praise.

I have read from a couple of persons here who did upfront medical, passed it, and still got rejected. It is only when IRCC request for Medicals that you can be sure that your application is 90% approved.

Doesn't mean anything... as the gurus have explained. You haven't done biometrics which means your application is still at a baby stage.

From the link below, you should see that a year pgd will get you a year work permit. However it is recommended that you go for a 2 year program or to take another one year program after the first one so that you get a 3 year work permit which will favour you more for PR.

I stand to be corrected though, but from IRCC communications, they will continue working on applications, requesting for documents as the need arises until people are able to provide all the documents.

What I can deduce is that people might even get medical requests if they find them eligible while waiting for Biometrics to be done.

However, no final decision will be made until all documents are complete including Biometrics.

How can a visa officer attend to an application without a finger print to know who he or she is or put a face to an application. Nothing is done in any application until you surrender your finger print and face. I have a friend that got biometrics since April.. they gave him 3months to get it done. His app still reads awaiting your biometrics.

Good evening great people!
Since folks that have previously applied for a Visa don't need to redo the biometric palava, will it be a green light if they ask for medicals?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by nayo10(m): 11:46pm On Jul 04, 2020
Based on the trend so far, I think it is close to a success if they ask for medical after reviewing ur case

Qudkom:

Hello, my advice will be to apply to TRU MBA program. With your qualification you can get a direct MBA program that will cost you 30k. Another advice will be to enrol into a Business/accounting GRADUATE CERTIFICATE program. If you intend to come to TRU then you can take 8 prerequisite courses in Business administration post bac and switch to MBA the following year if you don't meet up or perhaps post bac Finance. Cheers.

P.S: switching from a post bac to MBA(that's if you dont quality directly into the MBA program which I doubt) will cost you more money.

Hello Qudkom, please I want to pick your brains a little. I notice you are in BC.
I have two admissions - one in UBCO (Kelowna) and the other in TRU. They cost about the same - roughly 18k for a two year masters.
I have been following job postings on indeed for some time to get a feel for the job opportunities in both towns, and it appears Kamloops has less opportunity than Kelowna, while Kelowna appears to be more expensive based off what I read online. What’s your opinion of the pros and cons of either school based on employment opportunities and affordability post degre?
Thanks

You don’t appear before the Canadian embassy. You either 1. submit your application for visa online along with all your documents (admission letter, evidence of funds including bank account statements, and a letter explaining everything about why you want to do this particular program and what you intend to benefit from it. This letter is called a Statement of purpose) or

2. Package all your documents (same as above) and physically drop them at their processing center either in Abuja or Lagos. The only thing you do at the processing center on your appointment day is give biometrics (finger print).

There’s no interview so you take care to package your application carefully to contain all your information.
