Well, the pay isn't that much $500 per month but it is quite okay for me though.

I would have aksed for more but i am not good at negotiating so i went with the flow.

This is the reason why I target European remote jobs, this time zone thing can be wild.

Btw your pay is verrrryyyyy low, you are being exploited, even if you are a beginner you should be earning double of your current pay. Most of the folks I know earn 2k dollars upwards.

The chances for anyone is high as long as you have the determination and focus.

Then as a graphics designer the odd is higher because UI/UX aspect of software means you will have the UI creative skills that's not that easy most people. Think color combo, fonts and typography and stuff.

Your skill can be best applied to Frontend programming (actual programming) or UI/UX design (designing of mobile or web app interfaces).

For Frontend programming you'll need to learn HTML, CSS, Javascript and the frontend frameworks like Reactjs, VueJs.
For UI/UX design you'll need to use online platform like Figma, InvisionApp etc or some adobe xd etc.
Thank you. For now I'm focusing on front end development. I've been learning through a udemy course on YouTube since the whole lockdown thing. I've just started with CSS, I now know the basics of html

Jez! How could you say you are ok with $200 per month?? Guy you are being ripped apart. The smallest you should bargain for is $1500 per month. $200 a month or do you mean to say a week?

LIES. Just say that it doesn't work for you.
Don't come with blanket condemnation.
For some of coffee is the best beverage ever discovered by man.
That said , as a developer who has never had the joy of a remote gig . I'm seriously upping my game bcoz one of my targets this year is that b4 it ends I'll be making at least 20% of income from remote jobs.

Am here to read lies...
Between all these remote working IT guys and the so-called social media influencers, I don't know which category lie most about their earnings...

I know these jobs exist, but the way it is being portrayed... You will just resign your small 200k job and go and start learning one IT course, only to see yourself in square 1.

Nooo it's not always like that. The common thing about people who get these jobs is experience. It's practically impossible for a newbie to hit it big.

what's the name of your own company?...

MD salary of which bank??

Lol!!

My senior manager boss in those days took home 10k dollars. Senior manager not MD.

Why not stick with what you are knowledgeable about?

There is more to remote jobs than you think. Here is my personal experience.

Recently, i received a mail from a remote american tech company that i applied for. I was informed, that an interview will take placed few days, i prepared for the interview and the day came , lot of questions were asked that questioned my experience in web development. Finally the interview was over, but still i felt that i really embarrassed myself and messed up but i kept my fate.

Two days later, i received a mail from the same company where all the company guidelines, workflows and other necessary information i needed to get started were contained.

I resumed work a week after, soon i decided to set up my work environment just for me to realize i will be working actively at midnight from 11:30 - 6:30 due to time zones difference.

So basically, my life was staying on the PC every night and i adapted to it to the extent that i might not use my PC yet i can't sleep at night.

Soon after, i felt ill for 3 days after 4 weeks of sleepless nights and i was advised to reduce my working time and sleep often.

Knowing it was dangerous for my health, i cut my working time to 4AM and i will be off to bed. This step almost cost me my job because i published a new feature to the company product but i didn't include proper documentation of what the feature does and the developers and the members were annoyed with me to that.

Since it was a remote company though they have an office at California, most of their members work remotely, the company meetings are always held on Thursday via Google Meet and i have been marked absent for 3 times in a row which is really bad for my report. I was warned if i miss the next meeting, there is a possibility that i might be on probation or worst relieved of my role.

NB: I work as a frontend developer using Vuejs as my core language.

Share yours
Well done bro. I recently ventured into Web development myself.. Attended a bootcamp this year.. Please can I get your number there are lots of questions and mentorship I will like to get from you. I've not had any major experience yet

Drop that work, not worth your health.
As a developer, they should flow with your timing and not the other way round.

They are so quick to compare earnings with that of bankers.
Some bank MDs can comfortably buy off that tech company and still have change to dash government for COVID-19 pandemic.

for an ex MD like Alex Otti to highhandedly have the financial muscle to contest in Abia elections is not beans, Alex Otti's house in his hometown is like a f#kcing resort with helipad and all that shiiiiiiii.

Bank MDs earn in the region of between at least 5m - 24m per month.

they stay in the choicest parts of Lagos.

even microfinance bank MDs earn more than the pittance he described there.

mortgage bank MDs earn about 5-7m per month aside from the juicy stuff like estate projects they do.

Thanks for the tip.

I usually sleep 6hrs in the day.

How can you sleep 6 hours in the day and still find it difficult to stay awake at night?

When this contract ends negotiate higher pay of at least $2,500 per month

$500 is poor, but considering the present economic realities in the country, i think it is managable. Just get the experience, improve your CV and move when a better offer comes. Since the lockdown my sleep pattern changed, i am always up from 8pm to 4am and sometimes 5.00am. Then i sleep from then till 1pm. All i will advice you is adjust your sleep pattern and ensure to sleep minimum 7 hours a day for your organs sake.

You should be able to earn much more than that. I think you should subtly ask for a raise. If you are a valued member of the team, I'm sure you will be obliged. Been working remotely for almost four years now as a Senior software engineer/Tech Lead, I am fortunate that the company is in UK, which is virtually same time zone as Nigeria.

Bros lie small now, 200k for bank MD when not microfinance bank, even micro finance bank pay x2 of that or more self.

I was once a banker, FCMB to be precise as at then, my supervisor was earning 500k after tax and other benefit then.

Even a graduate trainee is earning more than 200k not to even talk of account officer 2 or 1

Just out of curiosity. Did you study computer science in the university? I'm currently an undergrad of graphic design at a federal university of technology and while web design/development is actually just a course in my department I'm actually keen on learning it full time. I'm still on HTML and CSS though. What are my chances in the web developer world as a graphic design graduate?
They offer graphics design?
Which federal University, please?

I am a front end developer but attimes I feel Programming/Development is Over-Hyped. There are other fields that pay wella.

A friend of mine makes up to $2500 monthly doing Vintage Logos and T-shirt design on Fiverr with no plans of learning coding.

My neighbour does $500 monthly trading forex; I $180 - $200
