Sorry oh bro,
Why do muslims think that there must be a coital knowledge of a woman by man before procreation can occur?
Shallow thinking
Artificial insemination, fertility banks et al are example of strides technology had made to counter this, which is man made
How much more God, the creator of seen and unseen who can do much more than any human capabilities.
It's a great insult, and you are limiting God, by assuming God had to have carnal knowledge before he can bring forth Son which is Jesus Christ
So you mean, God himself sew his seed in Marry, so could have a son for him(Not necessarily through canal knowledge)
you guys are joker's, I said just like there where other prophets before Jesus, Jesus Wasn't the last prophet, another prophet came after him, which the Muslims believes. God only sent Messangers/Prophets to preach to us the words of God. Judaism started before Christainity, ie. BC., Christains started before the last Messanger. But, Islam the only religion that speaks for the last prophet. while others denied his existence. The last prophet of every period is the only way to the truth, none will meet God except through him. Those that followed Jesus, during his time, will be granted paradise, those that followed Adam during his time will be granted paradise, but now, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) preachings is what we should follow.

STOP MAKING THESE ILLITERATE EXCUSES FOR RELIGION AND HOLY BOOKS. THERE'S NOTHING MORAL ABOUT STONNING GAYS, NON-VIRGIN WOMEN, AND THE KILLING OF PEOPLE WHO SHARE A DIFFERENT FAITH FROM THE REST. THERE'S NOTHING MORAL IN DROWNING OR SETTING PEOPLE ABLAZE WHEN WE FEEL WE'VE BEEN OFFENDED.

RELIGION WAS NEVER ABOUT SURVIVAL. DID RELIGION PROVIDE ANTIBIOTICS OR INVENT ELECTRICITY?

RELIGION WAS ALWAYS ABOUT CONTROLLING HUMANS WITH THE USE OF VIOLENCE, AIMED AT PROVIDING PROFITS FOR THE HIGHLY PLACED AND POWERFUL.

NO EXCUSES.

1.Jesus is the only way to God, John 14:6
This invariably means those who don't believe in Jesus have no business in heaven.
Christians worldwide have an estimated population of 2.4billion people
Islam records an estimate of 1.9 billion adherents, Hindu has an estimated 1.1bn adherents. The remaining world's population have their own beliefs which includes atheism.
If Jesus is the only way to God, what happens to those who don't believe in him? Hell? Well, the Bible suggests so.

2. There are a lot of complications and contradictory remarks in the Bible- a verse says don't drink, another says "Drink for your stomach sake", or "Do not drink wherein excess."
Malachi 3:10 a famous Bible verse on tithing speaks about bringing your tithe to the storehouse (church, maybe)
Deuteronomy 14:22-26 says otherwise, it says "you should drink and be merry with your tithe". I'm seriously beginning to doubt the credibility of the Bible. Maybe the translators' fault or God told writers different stories on the same issue. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John's account of Jesus and see real contradictions.

3. Does God answer prayers? Well, I'm not really sure about that. Someone might be suffering from malaria, the person takes drugs and still prays, the drugs work, but the person thanks God. Or a successful surgical operation, instead of thanking the doctor, they thank God. Some illnesses that would have been treated led to deaths because a certain congregation who were supposed to take the ill persons to the hospital, circled around praying. Faith without work isn't it still dead?
I remember when I had stomach ulcer, it was really terrible, I prayed and made several promises to God that if He took away the ulcer, I'd drink no more alcohol and will be more devout in worshipping Him. That didn't solve anything though, I stopped drinking and took to taking my drugs more seriously. Weeks later, I was well. I returned to drinking and after a few months, the ulcer resurfaced. That was when I realized I really needed to quit drinking. Prayers wouldn't have solved that issue.
I spent 80% of 2019 at home because of my misgivings about God's existence.
I really wish I could be convinced about God's existence because I'm not even happy to be away from Church because of the views of friends and family.

4. Children of God, or so called children of God tend to suffer more tribulations, hard times and desperate moments, a lot of them scream "Vanity upon Vanity" when secular people live in luxury or spend extravagantly. God tends to turn his back on those who worship Him especially when they need Him most.
The 1933 Holocaust and mass murder of Jews to the tone of 6m was a clear indication that God turns His eyes against His people
Repulsive comments are highly welcome

yes o, all theologies saying the almighty God is punishing people for unbelief should be banned.
Re: 4 Reasons I'm Considering Becoming An Atheist by karo93: 9:02am On Jul 27, 2020
Atheism is not a position of knowledge or logic. It's a position of faith.

No one can unfailingly and repeatedly prove or disprove the existence or not of the supreme being by knowledge. Its not logically possible until the day God comes down and says "Hello everyone ! Its me your creator "

Until then the logical argument is stale mated in agnoticism which states that "We dont know if there is God"

Thus it is not very wise for anyone to conclude with all assurance that "There is no God"
Re: 4 Reasons I'm Considering Becoming An Atheist by karo93: 9:14am On Jul 27, 2020
One of the problems many people that want to become atheists have is that their concept of God is rooted in the religions which are largely Abrahamic thus when the tenets of the religions fall short of logic and rationality they disregard the religion and decide that there is no God.

That is however a poor logical progression because the one undisputable quality of the supreme being is that He is the creator.

The concepts of God being nice, kind, merciful and loving are all concepts in religion but regardless of religion, the concept of God is that he is the creator.

You cannot conclude that there is no God until you can conclude with all surety that it is impossible for this universe to have had a creator.

While it is currently impossible to make such a conclusion then the logical answer is " I don't know"

That the religious books and practices are faulty does not mean there is no God. It may just be that he is not who you thought he was....

Religion is not about heaven and hell nor God and Satan.

The stories in religious books are there to help teachers teach children how to survive peacefully and harmoniously with others.

Religion was all about survival. Sadly not anymore.

The modern world believes Abrahamic religions have outlived their usefulness because they've killed God.

There's no longer anything to fear, so many people no longer have reasons to endure the pain of this world. No hope of eternal life. Surprisingly, Slave morality is on a rapid rise in disguise.

Hope has become a fraud.

Empathy is only employed when it's convenient.

The things our fathers were ashamed of are what we celebrate today.

Religious leaders live out their grandiose fantasy at the expense of their sheeple because they've replaced God.

Is atheism the answer? From my experience, I don't think so.

Most atheists in religious countries are usually apathetic and in some cases bitter. This doesn't help anybody, not even the atheists themselves.

The easiest way to save Africans from modern religious manipulators (if you care) is to become very religious and inspire the sheeple in bondage to be more educated and see for themselves that God is dead and it's time to move on.

How do you do this? Become a Sunday school teacher, preacher etc. Intentionally expose your audience to thought-provoking books and materials that helped you come to terms with reality. While at it, always emphasize on empathy and how our collective survival and advancement depends on it.

In the end, liberating Education is what we need. Not apathy, elitism, bitterness, etc that comes with being an atheist in this part of the world.

PS- Good/bad fortune has nothing to do with God. It has everything to do with you and the people you surround yourself with.

Isaiah 45 : 7 at your last quote 'PS. '

Both good and bad , light and dark , life and death comes from God

It's a pity I visited this section so late. Friend, the answers to your questions are very simple.

I am the son of a chronic and fanatical Muslim who became a Christian and later became an atheist.

This atheist father of mine later encountered the God of the Bible in a most supernatural way. He died a Pastor and an Evangelist. He never looked for God, but God found him.

Talking about the contradictions in scripture, you ought to know that the contradictions happen only in historical accounts and recorded events. These accounts were written by men, everyone wrote what he honestly knew to be true. Being men, they were sincere but imperfect. Even today, you can read different versions of an event from different news sources. Man is imperfect, but God still uses imperfect men to showcase His glory. The Bible sums it up this way:

1 Corinthians 13:9-12
King James Version.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Imperfect men put imperfect literatures together and named it the Bible. Balaam was one of the most imperfect persons in the Bible, yet, God used him. God used imperfect David. God still uses imperfect men. Man is generally imperfect, but the perfect God uses imperfect men to bring His eternal message to a dying world until that which is perfect shall come, then, the imperfect shall be done away with.

However, when you look at other aspects of the Bible which are pure revelations of God about Himself, you will see rhyme and cohesion. The real message of the Bible is not about rules, history or events but rather, the love of God for man, and the salvation He has provided to secure man from eternal doom.

There are many passages in the Bible that inspire awe. I myself for many years pondered the existence of God in spite of my father's experience.

I considered Islam and Christianity and stayed aloof from religion until God powerfully arrested me. My strong belief in the existence of God is not based on what I was taught but rather on what I have experienced. God is so real to me today, I have an ongoing relationship with Him.

Truly, the Bible did say Jesus is the only way to God. This is because sin is a spiritual filth which can only be propitiated by blood, and only the blood of Christ washes the filth eternally.

Heaven is God's house and He doesn't want to accommodate any filth there. He wanted filthy men but provided the cleansing blood of Christ as the 'soap' for their washing. God did not create men filthy, men made themselves so. Many will go to hell for rejecting the 'soap', but there are many who will be saved if they walk sinlessly in obedience to their conscience- "the law of God written in their hearts", according to Romans 2.

God has a right to determine who comes into His house and who doesn't. He has done mercifully in announcing the rules to all those who care to listen, all who reject His rules shall not go unpunished.

God answers prayers, I am a living testimony. One of the reasons I abide in the faith today was a powerful answer to a prayer I prayed in 2000. It was for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I prayed this prayer in my room on the 7th of July, 2000. The answer was spontaneous.

A glorious wave of God's presence enveloped me. I sobbed quietly while a heaven-given language flowed freely out of my lips. Just as the Bible described.

I have seen diverse miracles simply because I take the word of God as a little child. Unbelievable miracles have happened through my own hands. The most recent relates to my daughter who grew a tooth in an awkward spot on her gums. I commanded the tooth to reposition itself in the name of Jesus. Two days later, it disappeared.

I was a victim of heart disease. I was having incessant heart attacks, though very mild, being in its early stage. I rebuked the spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus, the symptoms disappeared. Today, I am healed.

I have prayed for a pregnant woman whose baby was bound in her womb by witches who wanted to revenge an offence committed by her husband. The woman was eight months pregnant, yet, the baby was in a sitting position according to Ultrasound.

I broke the spells of witches using the name of Jesus and the baby began turning as I prayed. Ultrasound taken after the event revealed the baby was now upside down. The woman delivered safely.

The testimonies are numerous, some, you won't believe except you were there. They are things only God can do. God answers the prayers of those who chose to walk with Him. The devil, witches, sorcerers, ogbonis, etc fear those people.

I can't talk of many demonic possessions that have been released through the name of Jesus.

Someone have answered you on why God's people suffer. I just want to add that Jesus was sincere in His words. "In this world, ye shall find tribulations..." John 16:33. It will take a lot of space to analyse the purpose of suffering and the glory that awaits those who endure...but the scripture says "Endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ..." He wasn't talking about soldiers who fight physical battles.

People who cry unto God only when they are in trouble will hardly find God. God isn't a standby generator that could could be used at will. Most so called children of God are hypocrites. They call upon God with their lips but their hearts are far away.

The 1933 Holocaust was God's final punishment on the Jews for Killing the prophets and all whom God had sent to them. They have said before killing Jesus, "Let His blood be upon us and upon our children." And so it was. They suffered up till that point in time.

However, the Holocaust paved the way for the fulfilment of another Bible Prophecy:

That the Jews will be scattered into all parts of the world after a devastating war- this happened in AD 70. That they will be gathered back to their land in the latter days - this happened in 1948. The Holocaust brought about the Balfour Declaration which made Israel a nation again in 1948. Bible Prophecy fulfilled.

There are things in the scripture that can only be understood when enlightened by the Holy Spirit. Some of the so called contradictions (not all but 'some') are not contradictions but rather complementary events narrated by different people. A more careful look at those narrations will reveal this.

The Deuteronomy instruction on tithing is better understood when read in the light of other verses that talk about tithing in the same book of Deuteronomy. For space, I cannot go into details right now but I pray the Holy Spirit will illuminate your heart.

Finally, the existence of God is not based on logic or human reasoning, but on revelation. The head cannot find God, only the spirit who is in God's image can see God. The brains may deny God but the soul will meet Him at the end of time.

Look around you. Consider His works. See the greatness of His intelligence. Observe the works of Him, who is perfect in knowledge. If God is not, how could nature be so perfect:

The rain waters the soil. The earth gives plant its food. The sun helps plants in food preparation. Man eats from the plant for sustenance and is cooled by the breezes from the roaring sea.

Who created the eyes and put it in the right place for sight? Do the legs have limbs and joints by accident? Why do males and female complement each other? One sex has what the other lacks and become complementary.

Why do trees breathe out oxygen which men inhale, and why do men exhale the carbon dioxide which trees inhale. Who has worked so intelligently to balance the oxygen and carbon dioxide ratio in the air? The wonderous work of Him who is perfect in knowledge.

Search the depth of your heart. Cry out to Him in sincerity. You will find Him. It will be most devastating when you wake up some day on the other side of time and find to your amazement the God whom you once denied on this side of the universe.

The god described in the bible is nothing but a folklore, human imaginations and manifestations of ancient time reasonings.
There was no Noah ark.
There was no Adam and eve in the garden of Eden.
There was no virgin birth.
There was NEVER anything like Jesus, or god's son or whatever they call him.

The only thing I can do with bible is use it as a toilet roll. That's all.

It's appalling that the only science and technology we have in Nigeria is quoting bible. Building churches everywhere instead industries.
Religion is the biggest problem facing Nigeria.
Religion will facilitate Nigeria demise.
