If he fills new DS-160 is that not going to contradict the previous information the Agent filled in 3 years ago.
He should waka carefully. Some have been unable to get their visa after many attempt because of issue like this.
If you want a professional advise: DO NOT SUBMIT ANY DS160 yet, or he will chop refusal at the embassy.

First, contact that agent or go back to him/her for basic information he/she used 3 years ago. If you must change anything, make sure they are not critical information that will backfire during the interview. You don't even just want to take any advise from just anyone on this thread on this issue.
I know someone who has been refused 6 times because of same issue. Don't fill anything yet. Contact the agent and ask for information filled in certain places, then use that to guide yourself for the new application!

So those of us with student visa that are stuck here due to flight. What's the best way to go about this, what type of flights are people using to leave as air space is closed.

Wait till end of July(as there'll be open international flights from Nigeria by then), or use executive bus service to get to Benin, Togo or Ghana to fly from there. Contact ABC transport or other bus companies offering premium transport services to those aforementioned destinations. People are living Nigeria every week. In time of uncertainties like this, new options and opportunities usually sprout up for those in emergency situation. If you know how to dig for information, you'll find your way.

Do you know what the critical info are? Does it have to do with name, age, address, sponsor...?

The US repatriation flight scheduled this month stated for only residents and citizens, how possible can a student follow through with the flight.

Hope for the best (Nigeria airspace reopen for international flight) but expect and plan for the worst (airspace doesn't open).

If by month end the airspace situation has not changed, move yourself to Contonuo and travel from there. My sister with Canadian immigrant visa had to do so recently.

I must warn you, that route will be freaking expensive so budget likewise

I still don't know why agents engage in such stupid act as filling wrong information for people that go to them. Maybe they think that would enable them get visa or they are just gambling with people's lives.

No wonder why the consular officers call them thugs.

According to the guidelines from ICE, yes. You can email your school's international center to ask, although they might still be in "panic mode", and may not reply on time

Yea, true. Everything is still unclear right now. 18 states including Washington DC and at least 3 ivy league schools has sued the administration over the ICE directive. A federal judge will be presiding in one of such lawsuit today. Hopefully, the directive will be voided in court today.

My school international office has already planned a webinar to discuss the fall out of today court ruling. They will formulate a plan after today decision. So everything is up in the air right now

It depends on the agent you meet and what you go to them for. Most are not really exposed and understand how the US visa application works.
When applying for visa for the first time, they usually propose to portray the applicants as credible so that they can increase chances of getting the visa by using all sort of information that are completely going to backfire later (in the event the applicant was refused and now planning to change visa category or reply on his/her own or using another person). They may say the applicant is married, fabricate marital info, etc, or secure invitation from someone in the US and then insert that person's info as family member. A lot is done, usually with or without consent of the applicants themselves.
I have seen cases where the applicants doesn't know what was filled, no record, no password to acct. This is where the danger is: if you are using a third party to fill your visa application, make sure they generation the DS160 application form (immediately after you submit the application). This is different from the DS160 confirmation page. But if you tell your truth as it is, then no need to bother because you'll always remember your truth.

Limited visa services appears to have resumed at US embassies in Slovakia and Austria. In fact they US seem to be exempting certain groups of individual including students from the ban it placed on Schengen countries from entering the US

If Nigeria doesn't open up their airspace by the end of July or beginning of August, how can one go about it. like bus to take to cotonuo and the name of flight one should book to arrive in the USA.
Thanks

Hello guys, filled and completed my DS-i20 form weeks ago without the passport page, not that I didn't follow the instructions and passport size, I did all that but for some reason, my passport wouldn't upload, so I signed the page and submitted because the site stated that it was ok to come to the interview with a copy of the passport.

But I just came across a comment on the visa webpage, and I quote -effective immediately applicants who do not have their passport on the Ds-i20 page will be walked back and must complete the application before rescheduling for another interview- something like that.

My question now is, WHAT CAN I DO to correct this error before facing a VO? It's not like can edit the form again, and I also know filling a new form is out of it.

Pls, help!

You have to fill the form again. A fresh one. You will not be interviewed without a confirmation page with a passport photograph. Fill a fresh one and when you reach the stage to upload the picture, DM me with the image you have. I will help you edit it to the required size.

In addition, he should get his ticket before going to Benin Republic. He can do that while still in Nigeria. It is really easy-peasy. From any of the locations you mentioned to Benin is like 4-5 hours drive.
