I will keep saying this; the only advantage Lagos have over kano is the sea-port. Well I believe with time and by electing the right leaders at every level of government in the state, kano state will surely overthrow Lagos as the real commercial hub of Nigeria.

God bless kano state.

Why cant Kano, Lagos, Anambra, PortHarcourt, Wari or wherever just be huge commercial hubs in Nigeria, instead of this seeming to want one place to fall so another would rise ?

Actually even with the sea port, kano was running neck and neck with Lagos but 2 significant events changed the dynamics. First was the devastation of the IBB/Abacha era and secondly boko haram. The result was that factories in Kano closed down and also the Northern elite deserted kano for Abuja and also everybody else in the south emigrated to Lagos, so lagos grew while kano declined. Traditionally Kano has been a commercial trading hub long before even the British came. Even lagos's growth was influenced by goods moving to and from from the lagos port and kano.

Exactly. That's the direction things should go for this country to move forward. All regions being developed and making strides in their own capacities.

And meanwhile a particular region will rather put their blame on Tinubu instead of holding their leaders for the failure in their region. Kudos to Kano state government.

No be by noise ooo. No be by running after professional certificates because you wan get job. It's by producing in large quantities for people to buy and to export.
There are lots of guys producing low key even though they don't have the capacity to produce in millions, some are doing it in hundreds and thousands and people are buying. They are making money low key, them dey aba, dem dey kano, dem dey Ogun, some dey lagos. While they are cashing out quietly , some people dey online dey make noise and find awoof giveaway. Some dey find money doubling, some dey waste small money wey dem get to pay useless motivational speaker, some dey pay people to help them fine tune CV up and down. Corona suppose teach plenty people lesson. It is better to ride okada and napep than to work in some nonsense companies in nigeria wearing suit and tie. People plenty for banks dey collect 50k or 60k yeye salary.

Illiteracy level is still high
Infant Mortality rate is high and out of school children % on the increase .
I have seen over ten kids this morning alone in Atiken road displaying plates begging for food .
Streets are still left without drainage and untarred .
Yeah , kano has big companies and good ederal roads
Question is , has it impacted on life of the average kano person ?
Human development there is nothing to write home about
The average northerner in singer market can not even communicate in simple English, still believes corona virus is hoax , does not believe in cashless system .
Kano can be a big development player if they invest in human development

Lagos also has a literacy advantage and maybe a cultural advantage, being more open to new ideas (and more tolerant) than many parts of Nigeria, especially the north.

The port is not the only advantage.

I just hope, everything Nigerian needs, would be made in Nigeria and owned by Nigerians
instead of exporting all the time.
it will create many job opportunities and even have many to be exported. we would be making money from other countries
boost GDP and increase our MPS
make Nigerians to start using their brains for the good of the country.
go to Canada or US a lot of doctors there are Nigerians. they will take all the brains we have in our country
and use for their betterment.
well if there was adequate security in Nigeria and people don't breed like rabbits there would be
