Sometimes all this IMEI tweaking can have adverse effects. Sorry

He was arrested with an iphone 7 plus, imei modification on this device is not an infinitesimal. Also what about the cell tower info that said he was in ASABA?

unless op previously inserted his sim in a phone and forgot. Or he has a twin sim. Those Police could have also got a digit wrong. Most time the operators provide imei information omitting the last digit however, imei are all unique so the omitted digit is between 0 an 9, on imei.info it has to match and show the device model. ask the police to give you the imei of the lost phone and contact me.

It's the new scam by police...

Did they show you any paper printed out showing when you inserted your SIM no...

They know you have money and rubbed you.

They are unfortunate set of thieves and kidnappers...

Our government is doing nothing.

I don't pity them when they die a terrible death

Are you sure this happened? There are policemen that can hang anything on your neck to collect money from you. It has happened to me.

I missed my way one night in Kubwa, Abuja back in 2016. The policemen I met on a lonely road swooped on me and said I was an armed robber. I saw one of them text my car plate number to someone. They then called the person and put the phone on speaker. They asked the person for the plate number of the car used for robbery recently. The man at the other end called out my plate number.

Of course I understood. I just gave them the little money I had on me and after they searched my person and the car to make sure that's the only money I had on me, they let me go.

Once merit is used to recruit policemen Nigeria will be better. What we currently have is a bunch of unscrupulous people who join the police to have protection against their true nature. That's why they can pay huge bribes just to be enlisted.

Emyo:
Good day everyone who finds this and I wish to get help as soon as possible as I will be very brief.

On the 20th of July 2020 I got arrested by Asaba State CID from Enugu state and immediately thrown into prison.

On my arrest, I was arrested with an iPhone 7 Plus, the police officers dialed my phone number and it rang on my iPhone. Then I was asked where is the camon 15 I stole on the 7th of July in Asaba. I told them I didn’t visit Asaba on 7th I showed prove. Then the IPO told me the stolen phone was tracked and my phone number appeared to have been inserted into the stolen phone on the 9th of July.

This is ridiculous as I informed the police of my status in the society and that since April I have not removed my sim from my phone.

I had to pay N185,000 as amount of phone and cost of tracking to be freed after paying N50,000 for bail.

I am writing this because I need help, I need an independent tracker as agreed between me and the IPO to unravel the mystery of how my phone number got linked with the IMEI.

Please any recommendation will be appreciated

I once had a conversation with someone that works in computer Vila(Garrison PH) and he told me that when a phone is stolen, the IMEI can be changed , making it difficult for security agency to track the criminal.

This is a very sensetive case, and the police are partly Right for Arresting him, PARTLY

while he had a Very tight, very water tight Alibi, the network provider will still insist on what the police said, that leads to his Arrest, reason his last paragraph

IMEI,

NOW WITH THE ENDLESS TWARKING OF iMEI's, just to trick networks, and collect free datas and what not, its possible his had been twark to such purrpose, but on a stolen phone

Go to twitter and look for segalink.... Tell him ur case he will attend to OR hand u over the proper person's and make sure the top oga's are involved. This is a case of extortion.
You are entitled to get every dime u have spent and more as u can prove u have nothing to do with and at asaba on the 7th.
Don't fret or u will become their cash cow for a long time.

They can still track you even if you destroy the phone.

They can not track your phone if you destroy it, without a siim card, your phone is useless but they can track your sim card and get call logs from it.

As if God hasn't cursed us with bad leaders, only to crown it with thieves in the name of police officers.
I hope this is not a new method these thieves just devised to milk the citizens dry.

But how your number got linked with another IMEI is still a mystery though. Is that even possible?

Very possible with garrison(computer vila) boys in PH , they can change your Android IMEI number to another iphone IMEI number. When one of them told me that thing years back, I got scared to my bone marrow. It makes it difficult for security people to track the real criminal.

So how did they get your number

the truth is that the police do track people and they tracked you with your number...without your sim card in your phone, they cant track you.

That’s why I am here. Read and see where I talked about the need to unveil the mystery. That’s exactly the help am seeking.

@ OP I will unravel the mystery, read carefully:

its very simple, the IMEI was tweaked. The thief is smart, as soon as he stole the phone he quickly changed IMEI which coincidentally matches the IMEI of your own phone. That was how the security operatives got your phone number and erroneously assumed you're the thief.

I have developed advanced tracking systems which have been deployed in extremely tedious investigations.

That's unlikely cos the IMEI on the phone box (Camon 15) must have been used to track it.
So how would the police have gotten access to the iPhones IMEI?

Please nobody should tell this fellow to abandon this case, this is robbery. Since you have an alibi and proof that you didn’t steal a phone, get a lawyer and sue the police. It’s their job to unravel mysteries not yours
exactly what my lawyer told me at a time. It's the work of the police to investigate a suspect if they don't believe his statement.

But they said I inserted my sim into the stolen phone on the 9th.
