Best Between Yaba And Ikeja As Residence? by PaulH07: 2:04pm On Jul 22, 2020
Finally narrowed down to 2 places as prospective places I plan residing in, which is Yaba and Ikeja.

My decision was formed from the following:

1. Both being in the centre of Lagos, hence shorter commute duration to the Island and to other places on the mainland.

2. Both being relatively safe.

3. Yaba being also relatively affordable, with a College of Technology present, hence will be a bubbly area to reside in.

4. Ikeja, though not cheap, but quite lively, even more than Yaba, with enough serene clubs, Malls, hangouts, cinemas and even an Airport close to the base. Also being the capital, there's the status feeling that comes with it.

So guys which do you think is the best? Though I'm more inclined towards Ikeja.

If you can afford Ikeja then go for it. Yaba is good but Ikeja is way better in alot of ways.

There are some of that amount just like in every area you have houses above the average price.

Hey..
I have stayed in Yaba and live in Ikeja.
It depends on where you stay in both places. Ikeja is generally more peaceful and serene but there are rowdy places too.
There is constant light in Ikeja though it comes at a price. If you don’t have prepaid meter, you may be paying 35k upwards for light bill in a flat. That may be cheap or expensive- depending on you.

Commute to the Island? Yaba is definitely better.

Status? You shouldn’t be bothered about what people think. Personally if I had my way, I would look for a quiet peaceful place in Ibadan - or anywhere away from the bustle and close to nature.

Fun? Nowhere is that far. Even if you are not mobile there is Uber.

Thank you very much. Just that I've really missed the nightlife of Lagos to be honest.

Also the cinema experiences really makes me home sick. It's near impossible to find a club that parties till dawn where I am- NorthEast. Cinema? cheesy

And the most annoying of all is having people stare at one, being a stranger that one is.

The advantages here however is cheap means of transportation, excessive light (almost 247 oh), affordable, spacious and quality accommodation(my Room and Parlor, with Kitchen, Toilet WC, Borehole water and spacious parking space, all comes at just 145k with 5k agent fees=150k).

Last but not the least are fine exotic chiks that are willing to do you, without a kobo if you're fun to be with. Them too like men for here and dem no even dey hide am sef...

I am really really indecisive about staying back in Lagos or relocate back to my former base, asaba...... The stress I went through and witnessed in Lagos is not encouraging atall, though there are opportunities....
What's your advice?
