Yet I'm not.
Learn to see things logically and not with the church mentality.

I'd advise us to hope things would turn around for our good for the Fall, but do not expect it will.

Hopefully, everything dies down before spring.

Madam lagosismyhome, let me tell you that you are among the few people I respect the most on this platform. I have never contacted you directly but I am confident that you've made huge impact on so many lives here. I'm saying this to let you know that I would never comment on your space rudely.

But then, Yoruba people say when a young fellow is cutting down a tree in the forest, the elderly usually know the direction in which the tree would fall. While the elderly were right with their predictions almost all the time, many atimes they don't tell the young fellow, that's because they believe they can't be right all the time.

Time has a way of healing even the most hurtful occurrence or experience. When people hope and clamor for things and God didn't make it happen, they adjust. The present issue of opening of embassies is beyond any of us here.
People go out in the US to perform their daily routines. We can't pray to remain under lock forever here. People that locked Nigerians up here have a way of traveling abroad when they want to.

US government is moving their permanent residents and citizens to the US when there is need for that. At least a flight is scheduled for that tomorrow (check their website). The people they are moving to the US tomorrow would consist majorly of Nigerians that have secured permanent residence in the US and those that are already citizens. They are not afraid to catch COVID, and they would rather associate with the US.

Even the COVID cases we are shouting in the US sef, it is becoming glaring that some figures are hyped. Check the attached picture here. CDC agreed they made mistakes in recorded cases. Initially reported 90k cases in Florida is coming down to 11k under scrutiny. See the margin!

So, please ma'am we need encouragement from you. If we have the opportunity to get to the US this Fall, we shall take precautionary measures. We shall live.

Point of correction. CDC never agreed to any mistake. Main stream Republicans have gone past "denial" stage with respect to Covid. Even Trump has accepted that Covid will get much much worse. So pay no attention to Deanna Lorraine and her stupid theories and useless tweets. Anybody with a smart phone and data will tweet. let her come and explain why ICU beds have maxed out in most parts of Florida.

We should learn to do more research and evaluate what we hear. Don't just accept anything you hear as the truth just because it aligns with your optimism

This has nothing to do with attacking those in the diaspora. A lot of them, if they are in our shoes would still be as hopeful as we are now. Alot of persons have things on the line and it's sounds inappropriate for those in the US here who are taking the necessary precautions from contracting COVID and doing fine, suddenly thinking you'd catch Corona if you risk coming to the US.

Personally, I've accepted that embassy won't open since early June and I'm working around it. I have a friend that has a full tuition scholarship, whose school doesn't have an exclusive online class and scholarship can't be deferred to spring. So you think it's sensible to advise the person not to hope?

Before the pandemic, humans have been making conscious effort to stay alive, and still achieve great things in the process. The people that want to travel are just being human. And when we clamour for the Airspace to be open, it is bigger than a mere nairaland thread. Nigerians are stuck all over the world with expired Visas, or Visas that will soon expire,
some are stranded, their plan was to go for a short holiday and they left here with limited resources. But screw them, they should just shut the hell up and stay alive

Hi guys, just some contribution, although I have made up my mind to stick to my PhD here in France while I am yet to reject my PhD offer at University of Hawai'i, one of the reason I won't be going to the US is the Covid-19 brouhaha, I still talk to my supervisor and he is not sure if embassy will even open for spring 2021 talk more fall 2020, we still talked this morning and he was saying if it may need, he will need to talk to the funding society ACS to push my PhD to fall 2021 can you imagine, lol although I won't be going to the US anyway, I am not that desperate, so I will stick to my PhD here in France. So. What I want to conclude from this is that, try looking for something to keep you busy because the embassy is not going to open anytime soon not for Nigeria with the way our government is playing politics with Covid-19, EU ban Americans for now, while Americans did same, so I believe US will replicate same to African country if they manage to beat their curve down.
