An applicant who chooses self-upload will have to scan and upload at home before biometrics. If not, the applicant will have to pay N11,700 for assisted scanning at the VAC if not done by the biometrics appointment.

Brightingsus:

Pls, this self upload, would an applicant have to self upload at the centre or can they self upload at home? If yes, must it be before or after the Biometrics appointment or it does not matter? I am asking cos I want the applicant to scan and send their documents to me while I add mine as the sponsor and upload all once.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 10:34am On Jul 22, 2020
Wrong advice. The OP is not eligible for the route mentioned.
Adeyholla:

You will have to do a DNA test to show you are a blood relative.

Yeah you can upload your documents at the comfort of your bedroom and it should be before your biometric appointment.. there will be a print out of the documents you uploaded, you are to take it with you during ur appointment..

The OP didn't mention that the Uncle holds an EEA or Swiss citizenship. The EEA family permit route excludes UK nationals who are not EEA or Swiss nationals.
Also for an EEA family permit, the applicant has to show dependency on the EEA citizen or membership of the EEA citizen's household or serious illness that requires his/her reliance on the Uncle to care for him/her.

I dont understand. Have they announced "there will be no extension to visit visa" or they havent announced it yet?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 3:58pm On Jul 22, 2020
I said that no extension to visit visas has been announced and it's uncertain that there will be. It simply means that you have to reapply for a new visit visa except UKVI announces otherwise.
Only the extension of expired 30-day vignettes to 90 days has been announced.

This is misleading, even if the uncle is from an EEA member country is unlikely to favour the op.

Its not. I dont comment on information I am not sure about. So long his uncle is an European citizen and lives in the UK and performs his treaty rights/duties
He also has to show that he is financially dependent on his uncle.
The only way he can show he is a blood relative is by performing a DNA.

You're right.
The poster may be eligible based on his uncle's EEA citizenship and UK residence.
He will have to show to the HO's satisfaction that he is totally dependent on the uncle, has no other relative here in Nigeria who he can live with, and that his circumstances are really bad without the uncle's help.

This is something which the Home Office tends to view restrictively.
The uncle of course must be financially able to support him in the UK.
Presumably the uncle has gotten his settled status in the UK, because the position might change after 31 December

Good morning. Please I'd like to know what determines the appointment date. Travel date or availability? Cos I want to apply for a visa to transit on 1 Sep, would it be possible to get an appointment date in early August? Thanks.

Hello, thanks. You mean a print out of the list of items uploaded itemising all the documents uploaded like a checklist? Is there a need for the applicant to take the physical documents to the appointment also cos I would be scanning and uploading most of the documents outside Nig and wouldn’t have time to send them to Nig.

If u choose the option of self upload, on the portal u will see different sections under which to upload evidence such as financial, family, residency and the likes.
U do the upload of each evidence by yourself one by one and ideally should be done at least 24 hours to biometric day.
When u agree that u have uploaded all u want to attach to d application, then u must click submit to finally send these through.
As u click submit, all upload entries would be entered and then u wud have a slip you must print from that interface to show u have submitted online yourself.
The applicant then presents for biometrics with intl passport original, copy of intl passport data page, copy of self upload submission slip, checklist and evidence of biometrics appt booking.
Point is, if u submit ur evidence online urself there is no need to come again to VAC with physical documents of which u had already uploaded online.

This is for the self upload option.

Your better option would be to check/book direct flights to your destination... that’s what I would do if I was in this position

It should be more of availability. If you are travelling Sept 1,you can use the prime time which allows you walk in any day but will cost you 42k. I learnt most dates in early August are filled up and you need at least 2 weeks for decision to be made about the visa.Bros, what if international flights are not opened by then, are there other options to travel when one gets visa?

Many thanks for your detailed explanation.

Finally...

1. Is the biometrics appointment done with the Gov.uk online application or separately on the TLS portal?
2. Should you opt for self upload, must the supporting documents be uploaded as part of the visa application before the actual online visa application is finally submitted?
3. Can you start off uploading documents and pause while you sort out missing documents and come back later to finish off?
4. In summary, are you able to complete and submit online visa application, then come back to upload documents?

1) Done on gov.uk website which directs you to TLS website
2)Visa application is submitted before UK website will switch you to TLS site
3) Ensure all documents are ready and saved as PDF files in your phone before you start uploading.
4) Yes. You cannot upload without finishing and submitting visa application.
You finish application and payment with gov.uk,they direct you to tls for upload and biometrics. TLS sends details to gov.uk where decision is made and sent back to TLS.

Many thanks, I appreciate; very explicitly put together.

My final concern is if it’s possible to submit online visa application, then go to TLS to upload documents at a later date. I know, Gov.uk directs you to TLS but must you upload same day? Reason is, the supporting documents are not completely ready but I would rather submit application, get Biometrics appt date, then sort out a comprehensive documents pack and upload at a later date prior to the actual appt. This ensures I secure appt date in some good time.

Also, is the Biometrics appt date booked before being prompted to self upload?

You can submit application. You have about 2-3months to book for biometrics after that. After booking for biometrics ,you have till day of appointment to upload.

And how can someone enter Ghana amidst this border closure?

I'll really appreciate your response.
Thanks
