Sorry to hear that bro, but when you re convinced to make such payment, there should be some level of assurance of a refund if it didn't work out. He should all or larger part of the money. 850k in this time and age it's not a small money o, will do a lot for a struggling young man.

Yet, we are quick to abuse those in government. I would say be glad you did not pay however, your post is an opposite because you actually support payment to secure a government job.

When you're desperate, you would do anything. With the way things are now in Nigeria, you will very lucky to get a government job without connection or paying.

850k? That's too much for fire service. Let me say that you're rich already if you could afford 850k.

How did this shit get to front page?

That is how far corruption is celebrated in Nigeria today.

Buying job slots for N300k to N500k, yet they still go to church and share testimony.

What a useless country that pays zero attention to the economy, businesses are 80% dead, while civil servants now ride cars and people who sustain the economy of the nation feed on crumbs.

Borrowing from abroad every year, only to pay salaries.

I lost a big job opportunity (Federal government job) February this year as a result of mistrust. I was told to bring 300k to buy the job slot even though I had the money I was suspicious I was going to be duped, but then I informed my friend who jumped at the offer, paid the money and to my almost surprise was actually called for training.

Funny and foolish of me right? Add yours.

Training? What kind of training if I may ask?

@Op, you lost nothing I must say, that job wasn't for you after all.. what is yours will be yours.. God has a better plan for you. You can use that money to start a business, trust me, you will be fine.

How many businesses have you done before ? What is N300k. Is that for only shop rent ?

A guy I know rented a shop and opened a clothing store in a busy place, beautified the interior, even spent money on cement, sand and stone to enhance the exterior.

After 4 months and selling nothing, he closed the shop.

I personally have also done clothes biz too before, using my strategy of minimum investment was able to break even but no profit. This is just one out of several businesses i have engaged into.

Very few businesses are profitable in this country and you must be very versatile to locate one.

After lockdown, prices of everything skyrocketed, you hardly be able to purchase goods if you travel to market.

That is where you guys are missing it.
Be business wise.
You can just go into any business or whatsoever, you gat to think, find out what people really want, what they can't do without buying.
In this country, people are hungry, you can expect someone who hasn't eaten for days to buy clothes. Basically everybody his selling, why not go into poultry, fishery, you can supply these to those people doing sharwama, while not open a shop, where people can come in to watch ball, so many businesses you can do.
You just have to rebrand yourselves.

Most times they don't even have the money of "their be a boss-styled entrepreneurship". None of them can earn what a fresh graduate in Total. No reasonable or profitable entrepreneur implores others to become entrepreneurs so they can be their boss or stop slaving for others. Check their business accounts and the money there isn't up to $10K.

Idiats!

No mind them, always screaming entrepreneur upadan if you check their monthly income it isn't more than 40k, those of in the engineering field know what's up in the oil and gas sector esp in the multinational coy.

Why not use such money to start a business and enjoy your life.

Do ask yourself why people spends 5-10million naira just to leave the shores of Nigeria, instead of starting a business.

Dont be angry with yourself; whatever almighty God has destined for you must be yours.
The offer is too cheap compare to that of one Hajiya she normally sell them between 2m to 4m.

Oh boy, una get mind and liver o! You and your friends. Were you never worried about being scammed?

I need to seriously thank, bless and honour the Living Lord God Almighty for his mercies and favour, in terms of job/work.

I have never had to pay for a job and I have been fortunate to work in really really good places. I just see an ad on Myjobmag or Hot Nigerian jobs, I apply, get shortlisted, I go through a proper and legit recruitment process without paying anyone a dime and still receive an offer with great pay and excellent benefits.

Even on NL I have applied for a vacancy I saw advertised by a recruiter. Their client turned out to be one of the most sought after employers and a reputable organization people want to work with (Interswitch) ...........let me just say it was a good outcome without money exchanging hands. grin

So it's safe to say you love jumping from one job to another

how is it slavery working for someone? if everybody is into business, who will man the other sector of the economy.

u guys need to respect other people's choices; some love business while some loves working in corporate organizations. some people loves government work while others just want subordinates to train and mentor.

I know someone who made millions of naira in bitcoin business but wasn't fulfilled. currently he is undergoing his PhD program which involves staying in the lab everyday. the guy just want to be a lecturer.

u business guys should just respect other peoples choices and stop belittling them. everything is not always about money!

Please help me increase the volume. They won't allow us rest; disturbing us as though we don't know our aims and objectives in life. Not everyone is destined for business. Thank you Sir(s)/Ma'am(s).

First Class ke!! I graduated with a 2:2

I like to think of it as God's mercies/favour plus due diligence on my part in actually doing what is required, more than luck.

Being a single woman without a means of livelihood or source of income hurts more than it helps, because wetin married men go wan do you eehhnn.

I think God sees that and just makes a way out for me. No one receives anything unless God gives it from heaven (I think that's in the book of John) and I would rather choose a path He can bless, which is applying and interviewing, than paying a bribe and cutting corners or spreading my legs.

I like your belief system, lady.
