Hello all. Is it compulsory to get a letter of introduction from my office? I already have the offer letter. Do I need both?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by FYsol: 1:29pm On Jul 24, 2020
Yes. Offer letter does not guarantee you are still an employee there. Introduction letter confirms your current status.

UK just launched a special visa called “Health and Care Visa” to give fasttrack visa to all healthworkers from anywhere in the world to come to Britain.

•Reduced visa fees
•Visa given within 3weeks.

Pass this on for your friend/family who may want to come to UK as a health worker.

Hello house,
Please I am applying for a 2 year visa, is a TB test necessary.

You must be tested for tuberculosis (TB) if you want to come to the UK for more than 6 months and are a resident of Nigeria or Benin. See https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-nigeria
If you are going to be staying/living/working in the UK for more than six months, a TB test is compulsory.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by FYsol: 12:45pm On Jul 26, 2020
Even if you have 10years visitor visa, you are not allowed to stay more than 6months per each visit.

Hello justwise and all the gurus in the house.
Please I have some questions.
My mum came to the UK on a visit visa to see me and eventually stayed the whole of 6 months.this was because I lost my dad 1 month before her travel date, and we just needed her to fully grieve and recover ( She was initially meant to stay just 3 months).
This was also complicated by the COVID situation in UK.
Now she left England in March and we now want to apply for her to come again.
1. What do you think about us applying for her visa again in just 6 months of her return to Nigeria?
2. Would it be an issue that she stayed in UK for almost 6 months instead of the 2 months initially stated?
3.My dad wrote her a letter of support during her last application(attaching evidence too).
Now that he has passed on, would it be a disadvantage to her?
4.All the geniuses, pls how best do I have to frame my cover letter explaining what happened in a way to convince the ECO reviewing her application.
Thanks everyone!!

1. I think that is too early to apply for another visa considering what happened with the first visa

2. Yes it will be an issue, she stayed 4months longer than what she stated in her application, though she lost her husband but that should have made her return to Nigeria even quicker than staying even more in the UK

3. It doesn't matter

4. Your biggest problem here is to explain to the ECO why she stayed that long, yes she lost her husband but i don't think that that excuse will fly because she should have returned home immediately that happens rather than staying back even as her husband did not die in the UK.

So the thing is that we lost our dad 1 month before she travelled.
The burial and everything was done before she came to England...

Do you have the death certificate to support that? I'm guessing she has the visa before the husband death?

I will just be visiting for a few days at a time, so I guess it's not necessary

Where in the UK are you going to? What are the things you'd be doing there? What are the places you'd be visiting? How much will you be spending on getting into those places or transporting yourself to those places? The information you gather will help you plan your itenerary and expenditure.

I'm planning to invite my mum. I know pple always advise to attach flight itinerary to the application.
I used travelstart.com.ng the last time she applied but as of today, it only has flights to London.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 1:03pm On Jul 27, 2020
There's a part of the form where you'll fill in details of what the applicant will be doing in the UK and in some cases how visiting the places will benefit the applicant can be included; no need to attach itineraries. At least all the applications I've worked on had no itineraries attached and they got their visas.

U can sum up total amount for the year and then divide by twelve to get an average for a month so u can fill up in your financial section of the form.
Explain also in the additional information and have the HR also highlight this in your letter. This would serve as a further confirmation as to the information you would provide

Hello all I need your opinions and advice,I will love to visit to uk to see my pregnant fiancé who would be giving birth soon. I’ve requested for her to write me an invite so I can be there for delivery. I need opinions as to how to make a successful application. My salary is nothing to write home about, but I have some good saving untouched of 5000 pounds in my account, I want to know what documents to provide, as I plan to spend a month in UK. plus i would like to know what passport photograph format to use for the visa application and also my bank Statement would be a lot of pages? How do I scan it and convert to a pdf, or do I just use the electronic one without the bank stamp?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 2:15pm On Jul 27, 2020
You'd have to prove to the ECO that your economic situation in Nigeria is stable and strong enough to warrant you returning to Nigeria i.e. employment / business with stable income.
Even though you have 5k savings, your regular income is what will be largely used to judge your financial capabilities because in this case, you have every reason to want to stay back in the UK. Without proof of a stable and satisfactory income, your application will be refused.

You don't need a passport photograph; your picture will be taken at the VAC.

You can use tiny scan app to scan and convert to pdf. If you use the electronic one, you'd need a letter from your bank to back it up.
